When laying eyes on Bellatrix Black for the first time, it is immediately obvious she has inherited the classic good looks and arrogant features that distinguish the Black family. She has long, dark, thick hair that is often worn is a slight state of disarray, appearance is not Bellatrix’s number one priority. She has dark brown, heavy lidded eyes, so dark they often appear black. Tall and statuesque, with minimal curves, Bellatrix stands at about 5’9” and weights in around 120lbs.in-depth appearance:
Unsurprisingly, Bellatrix has developed a fondness for dark colours. In fact, most of her wardrobe consists of black clothing. Out of school uniform, her style is rather formal and elegant, despite her personality. This is most likely the result of being raised by one of the most prestigious Pureblood families. One thing she is rarely seen without is heels; the extra height added to her already tall frame makes her job of intimidating younger students so much easier. And of course, long sleeves are essential; they hide the Dark Mark that is burnt into her skin forevermore. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
If nothing else, Bellatrix Black is one devoted witch. She lives to serve her Lord and her whole life revolves him, the most important person in her life. She has a strong obsession with the Dark Lord, and unlike most other Death Eaters, would never deny her loyalty towards him when confronted. Totally committed to him, she flies into an rage if someone speaks of him in a negative light, or dares to speak his name. She’s a rather firm believer in the idea of pureblood supremacy and treats blood traitors, muggle-borns and muggles as if they are scum. Believing herself to be practically royalty in the Pureblood world, she’s particularly eager to disown her relatives if they disgrace the Black family in any way.in-depth personality:
A rather sadistic witch, Bellatrix particularly enjoys causing people pain, especially eager to inflict hexes and curses on enemies. Often ruthless, she take no unnecessary prisoners, and has built herself quite a reputation in school, of being the girl you do not want to get into a fight with. A lot of the time, it appears she lacks anything regarding a conscience, which is a fair comment, because it doesn’t phase her at all when someone is killed or tortured right in front of her. Bellatrix always strives to be the most regarded Death Eater, which means she is quite willing to stab another in the back, in an attempt to get closer to the Dark Lord.
Bellatrix regards herself as an extremely powerful witch. Her arrogant attitude includes thinking herself the best in many aspects of magic. Bellatrix certainly has a certain gift with the Dark Arts, with training from the Dark Lord himself, she prides herself on her ability of Dark Magic. She has a particularly excellent grip on the Cruciatus Curse, and likes to use it when she can, on whoever she can. Bellatrix combines this Dark Art skill with fast reflexes and speed to become an able duelist, capable of holding her own against any member of the Order of Phoenix or even an Auror. Overall, it’s not surprising Bellatrix has an inflated ego over her magical skills, although it may be something to do with the fact she always has been rather arrogant.
In school, it is hardly surprising that many of the Professors haven’t taken a liking to Bellatrix. It may be the fact that her name always seems to crop up in incidents of sevre bullying, or maybe the fact that she always seems to be around when trouble kicks off. Either way, she’s developed the art of covering her tracks so that she can rarely be blamed for such incidents, much to the displeasure of many members of staff. Furthermore, her school work is rather poor, yes she can come top of the class in practicals, but her written work leaves something to be desired. And no matter how many detentions she’s subjected to, her essays never do seem to reach over half a sheet of parchment.
Despite her cold harsh exterior, there are a few people in Bellatrix’s life who she cares for deeply. First of course, is the Dark Lord. Secondly, however, is her family. She is particularly protective over her younger sisters, and is especially vicious and cruel to anybody she believes may hurt them. However, she loathes any member of her family that are considered blood traitors, and has no problem with disowning them and making their life as miserable possible.
Underneath her cold outer shell, Bellatrix is deeply insecure, constantly feeling the need to be wanted and included. A reason she thrives on bullying other students, it means they know who she is, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.
Overall, Bellatrix often gives the appearance of being a sadistic, mentally unbalanced witch. But what else can you expect from a witch who wants nothing more than to devote her entire life to the Dark Lord?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bellatrix was born on the 19th November as the eldest child to Druella and Cygnus Black. She grew up in London, in one of the Back manors. As the first child to her parents, it meant she lived a rather spoilt exsistence, getting everything she wanted, when she wanted it. Bellatrix was raised knowing that being pureblood was extremely important, and that muggles and mudbloods were worthless. As a child, most of the time, the only company she had was her sisters, and her cousins, not that she really minded. Being the eldest, she was fiercly protective of her two yonger sisters and to a slightly lesser extent her two cousins. Of course, being the eldest also gave her the privilege of being able to have a bit of fun at her siblings and cousins expense. She actually used to look forward to Sirius and Regulus coming over to visit us, because it was a great opportunity for five youngest member of the Black family to have some fun. One memory that sticks in her mind is the time she jinxed Regulus’s broomstick so that it couldn’t come within ten metres of the ground. Everytime he tried to land, the broomstick just refused to move. Regulus eventually became more and more panicked as he realised he was stuck in the air. She acted all concerned, and pretended to go and get help. Bellatrix told her parents to come outside and see what was happening, and they saw Sirius with his wand out, with his brother's broom stuck in the air. Of course they assumed that instead of trying to help his brother, sirius was in fact keeping his brother up in the air. He was grounded for weeks. Expected to be the well behaved pureblood daughter, incidents like this one often showed she was nothing of the sort. A certain refusal to listen to rules, and a desire to always have what she wanted led to a rather spoiled, demanding daughter. However, Bellatrix showed a promising magical ability and had grasped the family’s Pureblood supremacy ideology well, so her parents complained very little.in depth history:
Eventually, it was time for Bellatrix to go to Hogwarts. On the train journey to Hogwarts, her parents had instructed her to sit with a few older Slytherins the family knew. Of course, being the disobedient child she was, within twenty minutes, Bellatrix had found herself some fellow first years and established herself as the leader of a group, who incidentially all ended up in Slytherin. Of course, speaking about Bellatrix herself, the sorting hat barely touched her head when it shouted out ‘Slytherin’. Of course, she had strutted over to the Slytherin table with a smirk on her face. Her paretns would be proud. It was at that point two year later that her cousin Sirius came along and got himself landed in Gryffindor. First Black ever to be sorted into Gryffindor. She could almost picture Aunt Walburga blasting his name of the family tapestry. It was at that point, the little thirteen year old girl sitting at the Slytherin table decided she wanted nothing to do with her ‘favourite’ cousin.
The next few years went by like you’d expect them to go, Bellatrix fighting with her cousin, bullying the mudbloods who insisted on getting in her way, sneaking out at night with the older Slytherins, all while living up to the Black family name. Soon her sisters followed her to Hogwarts, both entering the house of Slytherin of course. The professors grew to dislike her, mostly due to fact that she's the ringleader of a small group of Slytherins that always seem to be around when trouble starts. One particular incident would surely come to mind whenever the name Bellatrix Black is mentioned to member of staff. In her sixth year, Bellatrix and a few other Slytherins were messing around, they’d cornered this second year Hufflepuff in a deserted classroom and were having a bit of fun, putting the occasional jinx on her and lauging as she tried to fight it off. Getting a little bit carried away, Bellatrix subjected her to the Cruciatus curse. When she’d fainted from the pain they left her lying on the floor in that classroom and went back to the common room. The next day, the school was told that the girl had been transferred to St Mungo’s because of serious internal injuries. Of course, the staff knew who was a fault, but they had no way to prove it did they? And yet again, Bellatrix Black was able to get away with another case of sevre bullying.
When her seventeenth birthday came, Bellatrix was finally allowed to swear her allegiance to the dark Lord. It had been something she’s been desperate to do for years. The first time she saw him, she knew exactly why she wanted to join him. He was the sole embodiment of power, he seemed to radiate authority. She was hypnotized by him, and knew at that point she would do anything for her lord.
Now in her seventh year at Hogwarts, Bellatrix wants nothing more to leave school and devote all of her time to the Dark Lord, but of course, she still has to finish her school career. Added to the fact that she has one year left to find a suitable, pureblood husband, before her parents force her into an arranged marriage. It’s one of the last things Bellatrix wants to think about, considering her devotion to another man in her life. But unfortunately, Bellatrix can’t evade her parent’s wishes forever.

roleplay sample: Ten to five. Standing outside the Malfoy's residence, Juliet couldn't help but feel she'd let herself in for something that wouldn't end well. Whatever had possessed her to agree to come here tonight, she would never know for certain. But all the same, she could have a pretty good guess. She was too stubborn for her own good. She wouldn't back down from a fight, especially if it meant Malfoy would win. Regardless, Juliet felt inclined to rise to the occasion tonight, and so here she was, gazing up at the building she was about to enter. The house, although it was really more of a manor, was set in the middle of many elaborate gardens. Although the inclination to just stay at home tonight was strong, Juliet had fought it, and had arrived here, ten minutes early. She wouldn't miss this for the world. God only knew what Abraxas would do to her if she failed to show.
Approaching the tall iron gates, Juliet took a deep breath before walking through them, as if they were just mere smoke. She knew how these magical security devices worked, and if you haven't been invited, there was no way you were getting him. Fortunately for Juliet, or unfortunately, depending on how you viewed it, she had been invited and the gates willingly let her through. Walking up the long path that lead to the front door, she couldn't help but admire her surroundings. Among the carefully kept gardens, she could see a fountain every so often, and, if she could believe her eyes, a few white peacocks. Somehow, she wasn't too surprised. The typical attributes to a peacock where vanity and arrogance were they not? That description seemed to fit the Malfoy family perfectly, and therefore, she was hardly surprised to see the animals strutting around like they owned the place. Although she was wearing a dress, she had deliberately chosen this one, as if didn't fall into the category Abraxas had specifically requested. She refused to wear something because he had told her to, and therefore had opted for something that wasn't as tight. It was one of the only things about the situation she could have control over, and even that tiny thing gave her an added boost of confidence.
Reaching the door, she found it was already opening. Ascending the steps, she walked into the manor, into what looked like an Entrance Hall. Looking around for the person who had opened the door, she found herself looking at a House Elf, who look beyond terrified. She smiled hesitantly at the house elf, and it seemed to relax, if only a slight bit. She nodded as the house elf informed her he was going to go and get his 'master'. She rolled her eyes as soon as the house elf's back was turned. Master? She had been right about Abraxas. He really did have an inflated ego. Juliet's own family had a few house elves, but considering Hermione Granger was a regular occurrence in their lives, those particular house elves were paid a monthly salary, and had sick pay and holidays, if they wished to take them. Much to her Aunt Hermione's disappointment, the house elves insisted they loved working too much to take a break.
While she waited for Malfoy to appear, she admired the room. Although it was only the Entrance Hall, it was expensively decorated, with ornate furniture placed around the edges of the room. Also, on the walls hung several portraits, with she had to admire, even if the subjects of the paintings seemed to be staring at her disapprovingly. She stared back at them, adamant not to loose her confidence. She really didn't care what some dead guy in a portrait thought of her. Slowly, she began to walk around the room, admiring some of the more interesting pieces of furniture at a closer range. She was certain there was some priceless antiques in this room. She frowned slightly, although she had never set foot in the Malfoy Manor before, she knew a few people who had done. They always came out of there, with horrific stories, of how the whole house is terrifying. Apart from the lack of natural light in the room, Juliet could see nothing wrong with it. So far. Maybe it was other rooms that increased the scare factor. But she was fine with this one at the minute. However, as she someone speak, she jumped, although she hastened to collect herself and look as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Looking to her right, she saw Abraxas leaning against the wall, as if he had been there all along. How long had he been there? And how had he gotten in without her noticing? Taking a deep breath, she opened her mouth. "And I assume that's your way of welcoming me into your home? As far as I’ve seen Malfoy, I don’t think much of your hosting skills."
As much as Juliet tried to deny the fact she was blatantly uncomfortable in the situation, her body language gave her away. In contrast, Abraxas seemed perfectly at ease, as if someone from a rival family turned up on your doorstep everyday. But as she took in his appearance, the most prominent thing that caught her attention was the smirk on his face. Although it seemed to have a permanent residence there, Juliet couldn't help but feel that tonight, it was more pronounced. Maybe it was simply because they were on his territory now, and there was actually no way of stopping him, whatever he decided to do. But somehow, Juliet didn't think she'd be let in on the plan until it was actually happening. She shrugged in response to his question. “Your choice Malfoy. As they say, this is your party."
