[/color][/b] Severus Tobias Snape was born to Eileen Prince-Snape and Tobias Snape, on January 9th, 1960. His home life was anything from pleasant. His parents weren't loving and were quite negligent. As before he was born, Tobias didn't know the truth about Eileen being a witch and once he found out about Eileen being a witch and that his son was a wizard as well, he completely flipped out. He was always aggressive, violent even but once he discovered this little secret of theirs it seemed to really get worse.in depth history:
His father Tobias, was abusive. He would drink, and when he did, he would beat the hell out of him. When he was eight, almost nine, he ran out of the house when his father was passed out cold. It was then he had run across the red haired beauty known as Lily Evans, and for him it was love at first sight, now her sister on the other hand was someone he couldn't stand. It had nothing to do with the fact that her sister Petunia was a muggle. Although it didn't improve her standings much. In his world, the one his mother taught him about, about the difference between Pureblood to Muggleborn. His mother was tolerant of muggles because otherwise she wouldn't have disregarded everything she had been taught to marry his father.
However, because of the marital discord Eileen didn't pay a whole lot of attention to him either. This of course made him the unsociable, as Lily would become his only true friend, the only one who accepted him for who he truly was. He and Lily became the best of friends, and were nearly inseparable. He became more of a friend to her than her own sister was. Lily was the bright spot in his life, and it made him happy to have her with him. He taught Lily that she was a witch, and told her all about Hogwarts and about the different houses.
At age 11, both of them were accepted into the legendary school. They went to Diagon Alley where they got all of their school stuff, like getting an owl, a wand too. It felt right, being able to be with her, to be able to be there with her to explain the things she didn't quite understand yet.
They went into an empty compartment, and then suddenly one boy came in known as James Potter, followed by his new friends. Instantly it was clear the two would not get along. Getting into Hogwarts only proved that further. However it wasn't to be all beds and roses with how their lives would take them. He and Lily were still close but they were sorted into different houses. Because of this, being sorted into two different houses, who would become the start of their friendship slowly changing.
He was sorted into Slytherin, just like his mother before him, and Lily was sorted into Gryffindor. That first year, aside from his friendship with Lily....everything else was just like it was at home. Sure he was no fool and was quite smart, quite capable of taking care of himself. His time in Hogwarts, aside from the bullying was quite nice. It was a change from home. The one place he felt safe was when he was around Lily.
During the summer, he and Lily spent every waking moment together, but although she suspected his parents weren't the nicest, he did not divulge near as much information on what happened inside that house as she might have liked. Second year, came and he went back to Hogwarts, and although he excelled in his classes, the torture that James and his buddies gave him was more than enough to annoy him. Didn't mean he didn't get them back when Lily wasn't looking.
The best part of Hogwarts was his magic advancing and his friendship with Lily. The next few years came and went, and now he is in his fifth year. He knows something is going on with the Marauders and know they are up to something. He started keeping a close eye on the group. He suspects they are doing something they're not supposed to but he hasn't quite figured that out yet. He and Lily are getting closer and he'll do anything to make sure it stays that way. He's not afraid of his parents but knows the second he goes back, it'll be another torturous summer, until he turns 17 when he can finally leave home for good.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
