A Trick of the Eye {Gwenog}

It was finally the end of another long day of lessons and Ash couldn't wait to do something fun. Sure he had a load of homework that he should be doing considering it was his OWL year, but right now work was the last thing on this particular Ravenclaws' mind.

If there was one thing that Ash loved it was receiving and following through with dares given to him by other people. Ususally though, it was his older brother Rhoan that gave him dares - and usually some of the best ones. This one in particular was truely a stroke of brilliance.

And so, Ash was headed towards the Hogwarts bathrooms on the third floor.

Let us explain a little here. You see, the Hogwarts batrooms aren't just toilets. They're more like changing rooms with showers and everything. So if you are one of the unfortunate students with a shower-hogging roommate, you have somewhere else to go if you really need it. From what he knew, the showers were quite popular with both the guys and the girls - well it wasn't like you had to drag a towel and soap around school or anything, whatever you needed was provided clean in the bathroom.

According to his brother, the layout in the girls part of the bathroom was quite different from that in the guys side. Key difference being, their shower cubicals were against the front wall rather than at the back like they were in the guys. How did Rhoan knew that? Because Ash had dared him to shower in the girls bathroom the week before - by those who didn't know him, Rhoan could easily be mistaken for a woman.

Hence Ash's dare. He grinned. It was brilliant!

Now he just needed to decide whether to do it to the wall inbetween the two bathrooms - near the graffiti wall, or whether to do it on the outer wall - in the hallway.

Well, for now at least, it was probably going to be safer to practice his new-found piece of magic in a smaller area... and he was less likely to be caught than if he stood in the main corridor. Mind made up, he slipped inside through the first door.

Staring up at the wall infront of him he searched for where he'd signed his own name. He grinned. That had been a different dare at a different time - another work of genius by his older brother.

Sticking his head inside the guys bathroom he checked that there was no one inside. Clear. The girls? He didn't know and he wasn't about to stick his head in and check. He couldn't hear any giggling voices so he just had to hope that it was empty.

Ash slipped both his wand and a small piece of parchment with instruction on out of his pocket, reading over them for the dozenth time. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly he set to work, murmuring the spell as he performed the complicated motions and taps that the spell required, against the wall before him.

With in a few seconds the wall began to fade away and Ash watched in awe as the spell set to action. An invisible wall. One that only guys should be able to see. A wall that he could see right through. A clear view into the girls bathroom and straight into the closest shower cubical that was against the wall. And...

Ash's eyes grew wide and he was sure that if it were possible, his jaw would have hit the floor.

The closest shower cubicle wasn't empty after all...

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO REALISE

Almost like clockwork, Gwenog made her way out of the Ravenclaw tower with a spare set of clothes, a towel and her school satchel slung low over her shoulder. Sybill Trelawney was using the girls bathroom in the Ravenclaw tower for her weekly crystal-gazing, as (somehow) she thought that turning on all the showers and sinks would help her see better. Gwenog, amongst others, had tried to tell her that all the steam and mist was going to do was fog up her vision, but no to avail, the silly girl did not listen.

Gwenog travelled silently down the stairs towards the third floor bathrooms. They were usually always free and it gave Gwen time to think and spend some time alone - well, that was to be expected, as she was showering.

But not today.

As Gwen undressed and hopped under the hot water, she felt all of her muscles slowly relax. Quidditch practice had been a nightmare and all she needed now was a bit of relaxation and a book. Some trashy romance novel by Celestina Warbeck.

Just as she had started to hum 'A Cauldron Full of Hot Strong Love', Gwenog turned around to face the wall. Only, there wasn't a wall there anymore. Ash Leary was standing there instead, his mouth gaping wide open.

The shriek from Gwenog's mouth pierced the air around them, echoing off the rest of the walls that were left in the bathroom. She fumbled around for her towel and covered herself up, unable to say anything as her eyes started popping out of her head with sheer anger.

"LEARY!" Gwenog roared, unable to contain herself. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

Whatever spell he had tried to do, it had worked. Whether the girls to be able to see through the wall or not was another matter; all she saw was that the wall was missing, and Ash Leary on the other side peering in.

For several long seconds his eyes never strayed from the showering girl, not even to blink. Now it definitely wasn't as if Ash had never seen a naked gal before - he had, but this was somewhat unexpected and... Since when was Gwenog Jones this hot!? What an arse...

As she began to turn his eyes didn't know where to go first, and he was sure the end result was probably him looking a bit bong eyed but... jeeze could you blame him? What a body!

What Ash wasn't expecting was the somewhat muted shriek when she looked at the wall. Sh*t! Somehthing must be wrong with the spell. She shouldn't be able to see through the wall. Only guys were supposed to be able to see through it. And only from one side too. Where had he gone wrong?

As much as he wanted to turn away and give her some privacy while she grappled for her towel he just couldn't force his eyes off her. Her frantic towel grabbing was producing some sexy little wiggles and... he glanced down. Ah... and a few other types of wiggles and niggles too...

Towel covered and visably fuming, Ash took half a step back from the angered girl. He could hear her shouting but it still sounded as if he was hearing it through the bathroom door, as if the wall was still there. Interesting... Or, perhaps reassuring to know that he hadn't completely taken out the wall. He reached one hand to it and felt the cold wall even as his eyes saw thin air.

Ash's eyes shot back to Gwenog and he dropped his hand from the wall, grinning sheepishly. He'd either have to shout to reply and risk being heard from outside of the bathroom, or find some other way to reply...

His grin widened. He'd seen it all already.

He side stepped and pushed open the door to the girls bathroom, peaking his head around. Hopefully, a well aimed hex wasn't about to fly his way. He stared at the closed shower stall, only her feet and lower legs visible. "Sorry about that, Gwenog m'dear. That didn't exactly go as planned." He was just asking for that hex now, wasn't he?
