Finally, he was back. The summer had felt to long in his opinion, he hated being away from his second home for so long. They should in all honesty, just allow the students to remain at the school for the summer should they so choose. He would be a first to sign up. Maybe go visit his family for a week, then catch the train back to Hogwarts. He sighed, content ith the thoughts. His mother once again had been a little bit of a high strung nutcase all summer. Have you cleaned your room? Practiced your languages? Looked after your sister? Done your homework? Get ready for tonight's gala? It was never ending. After awhile he preferred studying and homework over his mothers demands.
He had been back only hours, and he was already drawn out to the lakes. He missed the Hogwarts grounds when back home. It was nice to be back alongside the shimmering blue water, the occasional splash and ripples from the squid. The quirks he found amusing. It wouldn't be Hogwarts without it. Leaning back, Hunter gazed out, watching as the squids tentacles reached for the sun. This was his favourite spot to come, the tree having a small nook, perfect for someone to relax in, the roots hiding you away while sitting. He remembered his first year, so shy (not that he wasn't still shy), he had his out here countless hours to avoid talking to people he did not know. How he managed to make friends or acquaintances he didn't know.
He didn't hear the other approach, not that he was listening for them either. But as a voice shattered the quiet around him, Hunter flinched as he was caught of guard by another student...

The lake was one of best places at Hogwarts, along with the castle itself, the Quidditch pitch and mystery of the Forbidden Forest. There was nothing like being back at Hogwarts and Paris knew she had to figure out a way to get some money and get out of her parents home. She'd turn 17 this year, she would be of legal age to move out and as such she needed to support herself and pay for her school bits. Her first plan was to see if she could get a job at Hogsmeade, even if it was cleaning tables at the Hog's Head she didn't care, she needed money and to get away from her family.
The start of term feast had been as uneventful as usual and she'd enjoyed the food but now it was time for a walk and to seriously contemplate what was going to happen this year. Maybe she could talk to the Professors about letting her down to the village to work over christmas. It wasn't as if she was far off 17, she'd still be close enough to the castle and maybe when it came to the summer holidays she could work somewhere in Hogsmeade and stay at the Three Broomsticks. Well it may be a bit expensive there, but maybe there'd be a room to rent or she could stay at the Hog's Head. The thought made her shudder. That place was disgusting but maybe she could clean it up enough, though that meant she was going to have to learn a few cleaning spells.
Paris didn't really concentrate much when she was lost in her own thoughts, thinking of the future and getting away from her family. One thing was for sure though, she wasn't ever going back to that house. That was her last summer locked away, from now on she was going to be free and live her life aw--- Paris was knocked from her thoughts as she fell over nothing in particular. She picked herself up and dusted herself off when she noticed a figure in the tree she was close by. She tilted her head to get a better look and approached. "Hey Morgan." She said, stopping near by. "I didn't think I'd find anyone out here just yet." After all the first years were being shown back to their new common rooms and so the rest of the houses would soon be following.

The sound that shattered his silence was none other than a student falling over something. what that something was, happened to be a mustery because as he jerkedaround to face the sound he witnessed absolutely nothing to trip over. It was a Gryffindor girl by the name of Paris, a sixth year if he remembered correctly. One he undoubtedly had met during his first year. A time when he had been more shy than he already was. She was an attractive girl whom made him nervous, unless he was drunk of course. He didn't remember at what point they had befriended each other but over the course of six year, it seemed unlikely they wouldn't.
As she approached she greeted him and he smiled. At least the summer hadn't made her forget him. "Hey Paris, nice of you to drop in." he said to her in response, his voice clearly teasing. It was obvious he had witnessed her fall and he was thankful for it. It was something he could tease her about for run ins in the future. As she mentioned she was surprised to see him there he grinned gesturing around him to the lake and grounds of Hogwarts. "The grounds were calling for me. I just had to get out here." he told her truthfully. "What brings you out herein this glorious day back?"
(Sorry it is so short. So busy at the moment. Hard to keep up with all my threads! Next one shall be much better! promise!!)

Paris liked to know everyone and she treated them as friends so long as they weren't bullies or snobs. She didn't get on too well with peoples who arses she liked to kick and those that thought themselves better than her, she preferred to keep the company of nice people with level heads and kind personalities, that was why she usually got on best with those in her own house of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff's and some Ravenclaw's though most seemed to busy with their studies or reading to have the time of day for friends and Paris usually took that as a sign of snobbery, which it usually wasn't, but Paris could get easily offended when she wasn't comfortable around people.
Paris glared playfully at Hunter and pouted her lips a little. "Haha, I see someone's become a comedian over the summer." Paris didn't mind though because she could be clumsy from time to time, everyone could and teasing one another was what friends did, friends also had a tendency to get revenge as well so she was sure as heck gonna pull a mild prank on Hunter when no one else was around because he wasn't exactly the social type and she felt that if she pranked him in front of people he might get a little too embarrassed and end up mad at her, Paris wasn't happy when people she liked were mad at her.
Paris got a little closer to Hunter, looking about at the lake and land as Hunter gestured to it. She sat herself down near him, close enough that people could tell they were talking and hanging out but not so close that she was touching him or even close to touching him. Paris appreciated personal space. "It sure is beautiful." Paris liked to come for jogs around the lake. "I dunno, I guess I just had to get out of the castle for a bit, clear my head and stuff." Paris looked to the ground and picked up a twig. She started making shapes in the dirt and looked up at Hunter. "How was your summer anyhow?" She asked, she liked hearing about the things that people got up to on their summer holidays because no matter what, it was always better than hers.

Hunter watched her, giving her his full attention. It was just the kind of,guy he was. If you were talking to him, he was paying attention. He wasn't playing with things or fiddling with something, nor was his eyes wandering around the area. He was focused. It was something his mother had taught him early on, something he quite frequently got reprimanded for in his earlier years. But now, the constant instruction had paid off. He was a superb listener. "Indeed. I think I always have been, you just failed to notice." he returned, his nerves leaving him. He was much more relaxed as the conversation continued. Besides, he was sure she would have her own little laugh at something he was bound to do. Whether it be stutter in front of a girl, go red at signs of affection or get drunk and do something regrettable. There was always payback. And like they say, it could be a b*tch. "Besides, if I didn't comment, you would think I am mad at you do something." he informed her.
As she joined him, he smiled, glad to have the company. Sure he liked time by himself, but he had just come back to Hogwarts, he hadn't seen anyone for a whole summer. He had a lot of catching up to do. Paris was a perfect person to run into. She seemed to understand him. For example when she sat down, it wasn't near him in a way that would make it awkward for him. It was in a friendly, we are talking way. It was perfect.
Her voice brought him out of his thoughts. "It is very beautiful." he agreed, looking away from her to the lake surrounding them. Hogwarts was a wonderful place, he couldn't imagine a more perfect location for a school. Already getting away from people? School just started." he teased lightly returning his gaze to her. He wasn't serious, after all, he had come out her to sit by himself too. Watching her draw in the soil, he answered,"It was uneventful. Family gatherings and no booze. How about yours?"
