The rain pouring down on the Hogwarts grounds memorized Brylyn. The sights and the sounds and of course the smell. It was something that always caught the fifth years attention. Especially lightning. The way it flashed across the sky, the cracks of thunder that followed. Breathtaking. Tonight was a night like no other. The lightning lit up the sky, bringing Brylyn to the window. It was followed by the rumble of thunder shaking the school ever so slightly.
It took all of five minutes for the storm to draw her outside! Standing beside the school, making her way to the Greenhouses. That was her favorite place to watch storms. The way the lightning flashed, lighting up the greenhouse, the rain falling on the plastic walls. It was especially wonderful in the transparent areas.
Tonight although, Brylyn didn't make it to the greenhouses before the skies opened up. She was drenched in a matter of moments. The water seeping into her light pink long sleeved top, darkening her light denim shorts and filling her black flats. Her hair which was curly tonight, was drenched straight hanging on her face.
Breaking into the greenhouses she laughed, shaking her head. She turned to watch from the doorways as the rain fell. But she was quickly surprised to hear a choice behind her, causing her to jump..

Daisy was always out on the grounds. Well not actually always, she liked to be out there as much as she could be. It was so refreshing and invigorating that she could never resist its charm. Tonight was like any other. Daisy was out on the grounds when the rain started. It had only been a little while when the thunder and lightning kicked in.
Staring at the trees over head Daisy figured this wasn't the ideal place to be in a thunder storm, however the green houses were near by and Daisy was certain it would be an amazing place to enjoy the storm, in fact she could even tend to a few plants while she was there. Daisy loved all that sort of thing and surely the professor wouldn't mind? Daisy was careful and knew what she was doing, though perhaps handling sheers in this weather wasn't the best of ideas. Regardless Daisy let herself into the greenhouse and made her way to the storage cupboard at the back. She could give a few of these plants some fresh potting mix and food, give them a bit of a boost.
At the back Daisy couldn't really fid what she had been looking for and presumed the Professor had locked everything up away. The rain started falling even more heavily on top of the glass roof and Daisy watched the night sky light up. Nights like this were amazing and Daisy headed to the front of the greenhouse where she saw someone else. She observed quietly as the person broke in but she couldn't contain herself. She was quite glad to have some company. Company that was probably also wet after weather like this! "Hello!" she said cheerily.

The rain continued on, Brylyn was so content in listening to the sound. It was calming, soothing almost. It always had been. For some reason it always blocked out anything she was fearing or worrying about. It was wonderful, and maybe one of the reasons she was so drawn to teh sound of thunder informing her a storm was on its way.
However, she did not expect someone to be behind her. And although brave, she jumped easy at the sudden appearance of someone or something. Turning quickly around she saw another girl within the confines of the greenhouse. It was a first, she never saw anyone in here after class. She felt silly for jumping, but wasn't altogether surprised by the fact she jumped. "Hello, how are you?" she returned in a friendly tone.
Now that she wasnt focused on the rain, she realized she was a tad bit chilly. Her clothes soaking wet from the water falling from the sky. It seemed a bit silly now, looking back , that she didnt have a jacket on or an umbrella. She was to caught up in the moment it seemed.
"Beautiful out, isn't it?" she questioned, offering the girl a smile as she entered farther into the greenhouse.

Daisy was pleased to see that the girl was just as friendly as she was and had a friendly sort of tone, she hated to be trapped with other students that had a mean way about them, it made her very uncomfortable and she was an easy target to pick on. As much as she disliked being picked on she took it and moved on, she wasn't the sort to dwell on those things and she wasn't the type to fight back unless she had to. Still, Daisy couldn't help but smile.
I'm fantastic thank you very much for asking! How are you? Wait! She needed to speak out loud! "Fantastic thanks, yourself?" There, that was better! Out loud so someone else could hear, not just herself! Daisy occasionally tried having conversations with people in her own head, she was just a little strange some of the time. Well okay a lot of the time.
"Couldn't agree more! Love this weather and this is such a great spot to watch it from!" Daisy grinned. "Were you out on the grounds when it started?" she asked. The girl looked as though she was drenched head to toe. Daisy was wet but not as wet as this girl! She seemed as though she was soaked to the core. Daisy really needed to learn that drying spell, it would have come in handy right about now.

There was a moments pause where Bry thought maybe their short conversation was already over when the girl replied. She smiled. Fantastic was definitely hard to beat. "I am pretty dandy myself. Thank you." she said in return politely. It was true, despite being soaked to the bone, she was in good spirits. The thunderstorm washing away anything negative that she may have been thinking over the last few hours.
Brylyn smiled largely at the next comment. That in itself was her whole point for coming down here. It was nice to know someone else agreed about it full hearted. Maybe they had always been in different greenhouses watching the storms. There as three after all. "It really is. Always mesmerizes me." she told her with soft laugh, brushing her wet blond hair from her face.
"Is it that obvious?" she said jokingly, giving a small twirl in the greenhouse, water droplets falling off her as she did. "I was making my way down here and misjudged when the rain was coming I guess." she added with a grin.
Reaching for a glass jar she set it on the table in front of her. She always loved the bluebell flame as well as the heat it gave off. Picking her wand from her pocket she said,"caeruleus inflamarae." Shooting from the tip a blue flame erupted into the jar, floating ever so nicely. That charm was her favorite, and had come in handy over the years of her rain chasing.

Daisy looked over all the plants within her own field of view. There were plenty of plants that she knew here and not one that she didn't. They were all safe and didn't pose a threat to her or the other girl but it was always good to check these sorts of things over, just imagine what would have happened if she had been near a potentially dangerous plant! Daisy hated to think like that but sometimes her mind just went there as though, well, as though it had a min-mind all of its own.
"Me too!" Said Daisy excitedly. It was always great to meet a like minded person. Daisy had a strong feeling that she was going to get on exceptionally well with this girl, whoever she was. Daisy had a feeling she was in the year above her or maybe even a sixth year but she wasn't a seventh year, unless she just looked young.
"Yeah, kind of obvious, you look wet through to the bone!" Daisy watched carefully as the girl got a jar and lit a little fire. She grinned and watched the flames, they looked beautiful. Daisy had to learn how to do that. She could make tiny little glowing orbs, but not a beautiful little fire like that. "Wow! You'll have to teach me that!" She said as a loud crack of lightning sounded over head, the storm was really upon them now and Daisy kind of hoped the Greenhouses were protected against damage like that. "Is it just for light or warmth as well?"

The thunder boomed shaking the walls of the greenhouse. The storm felt close which meant they would hopefully get a pretty amazing show. No three seconds later there was a rather large and bright crack of loghtning, splitting the skies into a puzzle piece. Brylyn stood there a smile on her face in pure amazement. It was beautiful.
Turning back to the other girl she smiled, pushing her hair back once again. The water falling from it as she pushed. At least at this rate it would be dry soon. She faintly recognized the girl, meaning she probably wasn't within her own year. Otherwise she would probably recognize her from classes that she had with other houses. Hearing her say me too, Bry grinned. It was nice to meet her then, being able to share a common like with someone was always nice.
Brylyn laughed softly as the other girl spoke. She probably looked like a drowned rat. The Veela in her wouldn't be able to memorize guys looking like this she thought jokingly to herself. "I feel wet to the bone." she replied with another laugh.
It was why she lit the fire in front of her, in the glass jar. To dry and warm her. She was sure once she was in the greenhouses long enough she would start to feel cold. She barely heard the girls words as the crack of lightning tried to drown her out. Nodding her head she replied,"Of course I can. It's simple. I figured it out my first year after falling into the lake." Not her proudest moment, but it had come out with a positive. "More so for warmth. The lightning is providing enough light for us!" she joked as another boom of thunder shook the greenhouse followed quickly by another crack of lightning, which lit up the greenhouse.

The glass all shook. The greenhouse wasn't overly sturdy but Daisy was pretty sure it probably had some sort of spell enchanting it to prevent it from caving in a smashing all around them. This could have just been the wishful thinking she tended to experience before something bad happened, bad things tended to happen to Daisy quite a bit, she was a some what accident prone person in the sense that accidents seemed to seek her out specifically. Of course that was probably nonsense but sometimes that was really how she felt.
Daisy felt bad for the girl being all soaking wet and wished she could help but the girl had her own little fire and Daisy had to learn how to do that, especially if that girl had learnt it in her first year, Daisy occasionally felt a little bit academically slow but she liked reading about magic and then practicing. Daisy had always been a practical sort of person when it came to learning. Sitting down and reading a book didn't help her, the information she read just tended to slip away from her if she couldn't associate it with something practical.
Daisy grinned and then looked up to the sky as more lightning struck. The overhead storm was a beauty tonight and Daisy was thrilled about learning a new spell. "That'd be great! Thank you so much!" Daisy grinned even wider. She liked to keep her herself happy and it was so much easier to do when there was a lovely, helpful person around to keep her cheered!
"I'm Daisy by the way, Daisy Hookum, I'm in Hufflepuff and a fourth year! How about you?" Daisy was a little blunt at times but she was never rude, at least not intentionally but at the moment she was sure she wasn't being rude, she was just introducing herself and as she didn't recognise the girl she was letting her know her year and house and in return was curious about the girl, of course the girl didn't have to reply if she didn't want to!

The storm was intensifying, catching Brylyns attention over an over again. She didn't want to be rude, so she ensured her ears were fully open to the girl as her eyes watched lightning cascade through the darkening night sky. Each rattle an shake if the greenhouse keeping a smile on her face. Why was so so easily mesmerized by storms, they seemingly enchanting the Gryffindor girl. She never remembered feeling wary or scared of storms.
As she stood next to her bluebell fire she could feel warmth radiating onto her body, creating the illusion of a comfortable temperature. Sure once she left she was positive she would be freezing cold. But it would do for now. She should learn a drying spell, but she had yet to attempt that. She was more of the hear about it, find out the incantation and learn it. She wasn't a read and then learn kind of learner.
"No problem. It simple really. Nothing hard to it. You simply wave your wand as such and say caeruleus inflamarae." she told her, explaining the basics of the spell. It was a simple up and down flowing wand movement with the phrase. She was sure the girl could master it in no time. She looked smart after all, at least to Brylyn she did.
As she introduced herself Brylyn smiled largely at the girl. Introductions were alway fun and promising of continued friendship. "Nice to meet you Daisy the Hufflepuff. I am Brylyn Abercrombie, fifth year Gryffindor." she returned brightly extending her hand to the girl in a formal, but friendly sort of way.
