-------
Most people would describe her as pretty, but she's often pushed to the side by her sisters. Her beauty is a lot more subtle that theirs Andromeda has rich wood brown hair and matching brown eyes. She doesn’t like her hair short, but she doesn’t have the patience for long hair so it usually ends up somewhere in the middle, like the rest of her. Her square jaw and straight, angular nose give her a rather sosphiscated expression, though her chubby cheeks let her pull off cute as well. It also makes her look rather sturdy, which she needs.in-depth appearance:
Andromeda is extremely slender(112 lbs.) and shorter, 5’5”. She seems really delicate, but she’s tougher than she looks. Her skin is a rather lovely peach color, and it almost has a clear quality to it. She has longer than normal legs and neck, though not so much that she looks odd. She has a birthmark on the back on her right shoulder blade that looks like a star if you squint enough.
Despite her introvertedness, she's extremely inquisitive. She reads books a lot, but she finds that that not the same as seeing things with your own eyes. She loves to wander around places, no matter how insignificant they may seam.
in-depth personality:
She's not just this weird bookworm/wanderer though. She always seems really serious, and she is some of the time. But she can also be really relaxed and actually like having fun. She can be sweet and funny and likes to laugh, there just doesn't seam to be a lot to laugh about.
One of the reasons she seems so serious is she's really good at hiding her emotions, because she has to. She spends her time standing by and watching as her sisters torment people, usually without cringing. She never participates though, but that doesn't keep someone who's getting jinxed practically death from hating her. She does however try to persuade them or any other Slytherin out of doing stuff whenever she can. They probably think she's was weak, but that seemed to make Bella protective instead of disgusted. Underneath her emotionless exterior Meda is actually racked with guilt. She tries to make up for it by returning or repairing things they steal or damage. She knows this is pretty feeble so she also tries to tip off people if she catches on to anyone's plans to torment or harm them in any way. She's really good at doing it in subtle or indirect ways and so far no one has realized what she is doing.
Because she feels so out of control in so many aspects of her life, she tries to control what she can. She's one of the most organized people on the planet. As far as she's concerned everything has one specific place and she can't relax when anything is out of order. So you could say she's a neat freak. She's also slightly claustrophobic, and prefers to be outside where things are open.
She's really tense all the time, and always seems to be really focused on something. Whether its her studies, a book, or a strange patch on dirt on the ground. She tends to be kind of intense, but once you get her to let her guard down she's really fun and easy going.
Another thing that a lot of people don't see is that she's actually really sweet and gentle, but she's still discreet about it. She has this way of making someone feel better without smiling or ever saying a word to them.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Andromeda was the middle child. She was shyer than both her siblings, but was also very smart and loved to talk about the things she learned, which drove her family crazy. She still loved to hang out with her sisters, and since she never met anyone else her age they were her only friends. She also really liked her cousins, especially Sirius since he wasn’t as, well, serious about the whole pure blood thing. She never quite understood how they could be better than the muggles she occassionly caught glimpses of, but her parents said they were, and she figured they must be right.in depth history:
She remembers her sorting very clearly. The hat told her path didn’t have to lie in slytherin, but the thought of being the first one in her family that wasn’t terrified her so much that she begged to be put there. She thought the hat sounded almost disappointed as he sorted her into the same house as her older sister.
Since she was a Black, and Bella’s younger sister, everyone assumed she must be sadistic and a pure blood supremist. Muggle-borns, and even some of the other students avoided her like the plague. She was surprised at how much that hurt her, and became extremely lonely. So she clung to her family and group of slytherins. It had worked for her all her life, and that wasn't going to change, she thought. But she didn’t quite fit in. Try as she might she still couldn’t understand what made muggleborns, or anybody, inferior to anyone else. But she kept her doubts quiet.
She had noticed that her sisters, especially Bellatrix, had a slightly odd sense of humor, but she never thought anything of it. She was rather oblivious as to what they were really like for the longest time. But gradually she started to see them as they really were, though she pretended she wasn’t. It was only when she discovered what really happened to the Hufflepuff girl that she was forced to accept the truth about her family. From that point on she was terrified of them, or her. But she never left, she didn’t know how. She was certain she would get at lost worse than disowned if they knew the truth about her. She always envied Sirius for breaking out of the mold. He was her Hero, but she doubted she’d be able to follow in his footsteps. Part of the reason she can't leave her sister's is she still loves them in a way, and to abandon them would be to abandon her family, which would be like saying she didn't love. While her parents may not have instilled their pure-blood ideas in her, they at least gave her some weird sense of family loyalty.
Instead she contended herself by helping people from the shadows. Returing things her sisters took, giving things to those they tormented. No one ever knew it was her, and she hoped they never would. The result of this is that she’s more lonely than ever.

roleplay sample: Andromeda’s hand moved to turn the page as silently as possible. She was crouched behind the stairwell, as far out of sight as she could be. It wasn’t her favorite place to be, but there were too many people milling around who might see her for her to risk moving.
Not that she wasn’t taking a risk anyway. Reading a muggle fiction book in the Black household wasn’t exactly a safe idea, but she’d been too curious to resist. It was called Pride and Prejudice, and so far she found it to be pleasant, but also rather tedious, but she kept plowing on anyway.
She was home for the holidays, and various relatives and guests had been arriving all week since Christmas Eve was tomorrow. The only person she really wanted to hang out with was Sirius, but he’d managed to get out of coming. She wished she followed suit, but Bella had come to her and started talking about all the things they were going to do over the break, and she hadn’t had the courage to tell her she didn’t want to go.
Still though, this wasn’t so bad. If she concentrated hard enough she could almost block out the voices that were issuing from below in the parlor. The reason she didn’t want to see her family was that they were talking about him. The dark Lord, as Bella called him. She knew he had another name, but she hardly ever heard it spoken. They certainly weren’t using it now, but their comments made it clear enough. She knew her family applauded him, but all Andromeda could do was picture this world for muggles and muggleborns they hoped to create, and shudder.
“Dromeda?” She jumped and flung the book out of sight, staring up at the shadow looming over her with wide eyes. She immediately relaxed when she saw who it was.
“Uncle Alphard.” She breathed. He was the only other person in her family, besides, Sirius, who she could really talk too.
He smiled at her, “Are you hiding, Meda?”
“Umm…” she glanced away from him for a second. She knew the answer to his question was yes, but she didn’t want to admit it. But she was pretty sure he already knew the answer anyway. Instead she looked up at him, her eyes making her seem much older that she really was.
“I’m always hiding Uncle.”
