FACE CLAIM: James McAvoy.
EYE COLOUR: Some shade between light blue and gray, depending on the light.
HAIR COLOUR: Light brown.
HEIGHT: 5'10.
WEIGHT: 131 pounds.
APPEARANCE: Remus is shorter than James and Sirius but taller than Peter. He has long brown hair that tends to fall in his strangely colored eyes, which can be described as gray or blue in certain lighting. Remus is insanely proud of the stubble along his jaw although nothing but the mustache grows in right and is hardly ever seen without it. His teeth are almost perfectly straight except for one tilted tooth on the bottom left. Something that Remus is extremely self-conscious about are the two long scars on his face, one that runs from his left eyebrow to his right cheek and the other that runs from his left cheek to his right jaw, straight through his lip. The scars are the physical remnants of Fenir Grayback's vicious attack on him and unfortunately, he can't hide them. There are more scars on his body, more than he can count, bite marks and claw marks marring the skin. A rather large bite at the junction of his shoulder and his neck marks where Fenrir bit him, a bite that easily could have killed him.
Remus doesn't really worry about his appearance, other than the scars. Usually, you can find him in his wrinkled school uniform because he detests wearing robes. He only wears robes if it's absolutely mandatory to do so. On weekends, it's more common to see him in a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. Remus will hardly ever wear short sleeved shirts because he can't stand to look at what he's done to himself. Being a werewolf increases his body temperature and he wishes that he could at least roll up his sleeves but he won't.
Around the full moon, dark circles form around his eyes from the lack of sleep. Once the wolf awakens in him, its energy keeps him from sleeping for as long as two days at a time. The wolf itself is large, capable of standing on its hind legs, and utterly terrifying. Saliva drips from its mismatched teeth in long strands, sometimes onto its dark brown fur.
WE CRASHED IT RIGHT INTO THE WHOMPING WILLOW

LIKES: Chai tea, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Magical creatures, writing essays, the Marauders.
DISLIKES: Prejudice, not being able to speak up against his friends, Snape (himself and the Marauders' treatment of him), hot days.
BOGGART: Remus' Boggart is a silvery orb, resembling a full moon hanging in the sky. When the Riddikulus charm is cast, it winks out like a dying star, leaving nothing behind.
MIRROR OF ERISED: If Remus looked into the Mirror of Erised, he would see himself as he is, minus the scars. His friends would be with him, all of them smiling. Fenrir Grayback would be seen lying on the ground, eyes blank.
PATRONUS: A timber wolf.
PERSONALITY: Remus is a whirlwind of emotions most of the time, never letting the bitter ones through his mask. He's forever at war with the wolf inside him, teetering between anger and normalcy at all times. This becomes worse as the full moon approaches and is the calmest just after his transformation. He's never had anyone to talk to about how he feels since no one quite understands so he keeps it all bottled inside. Every negative emotion is shoved into the back of his mind, expressed once a month. The wolf inside him is so angry and ready to snap that Remus can't afford for his human self to be like that. With all of this going on, one would think Remus would be an angry person but he's quite the opposite. He doesn't speak much to people he doesn't know due to shyness, he can't bring himself to speak up against James and Sirius when they're torturing Severus...
In other words, Remus' human self is somewhat cowardly. He's afraid of losing the only people who have ever accepted him the way he is so he lets them do as they please, even if what they're doing is morally wrong. Professor Dumbledore made him a Prefect in hopes that he could tame his friends but Remus has never said a word against them. Well, he tried one time to get his friends to leave Severus alone. James and Sirius basically ignored him so he never tried again. Making friends had been so difficult -- he couldn't lose the few he actually had. He gets along well with Lily Evans, possibly the only other friend he has outside of the Marauders, and he has a horrible time talking to any other girls.
Somewhere deep inside himself, he wishes he knew the werewolf that attacked him. Perhaps the person was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he, Remus, just happened to be in the way. He feels horrible for the werewolf, knowing now exactly what he's been going through; however, Remus detests him at the same time. He's been disfigured for life but it makes it easier for him to get through the day thinking that it was all a horrific accident.

HISTORY: Remus was an unexpected child but loved all the same. He was much closer to his mother since his father was always away at work, and he spent his days with her. He has trouble now remembering what actually happened but sometime when he was around six years old, his father had come home from work fuming over some "Grayback" fellow. "Showed him, I did," he kept muttering as Remus pleaded with his father to play. The boy saw that it was no use and returned to his mother's side, watchful eyes on the man at the table who somehow was not his father.
Days later, he'd gone to Diagon Alley with his mother for lunch. It was a chilly autumn day and the streets were bustling with people intent on getting into the warm shops. Suddenly, Remus was knocked to the ground roughly, his breath leaving him. A sharp pain in the soft spot between his neck and shoulder made him scream out for his mother, and then a blow to the face plunged him into darkness.
It could have been minutes later when he opened his eyes. Possibly days. Maybe even a whole week. Remus learned later that it was nearly two weeks before he came out of the darkness he'd been floating in. There were glimpses of things, bright lights, pains, and voices, but never anything definite until the day he woke fully. His head and neck felt heavy, and he clumsily reached up to touch his face. His parents were startled to see any movement at all (the Healers' prognoses had been grave) and so they were too shocked to stop him. His fingers touched soft material and then there was pain when he touched his skin. "Don't, don't," the nurse clucked, gently pulling his hand back down to his side. "Don't touch, baby. Take it easy."
Remus spent another week in the hospital before the bandages came off. To this day, he's surprised he never fainted, because it was horrifying. Long red wounds ran across his face and marks all over his body, the worst of which was within an inch of a vital artery.
It took him years to come to terms with the scars. Through Muggle school as a child, he was ruthlessly tormented because of them. Not to mention the fact that he was showing signs of magical skill and the kids thought he was some sort of magician freak. It didn't help that every full moon, he looked as if he was terminally ill.
As he neared the age of eleven, his parents began to worry about sending him to Hogwarts. He was a menace, something that could only be controlled by spells and bindings, and that nearly broke his mother's heart. Professor Dumbledore (thankfully) accepted Remus as a student and allowed him to use the Shrieking Shack during the full moon. His newly-found friends, whom he had met on the train, always wondered where he went during that time and what he was doing but Remus would never tell them. At the end of his second year, Remus gathered the strength to tell them and, instead of running away screaming, they decided to learn to become Animagi in order to join him.
