The exam period was drawing to a close, and all the students were ready for a bit of fun, and some time to relax before for the holidays started. There had been whispers going around the school about an all night Quidditch match between all the houses, and, despite the students trying to keep quiet about it, the Professors still know. Albus Dumbledore had asked that the flying instructor take charge of the event, and make sure that there was no funny business taking place, and so the date was set.
Friday night, after all the exams were completed, was to be The Night of Flying Dangerously, though, if the Professors had anything to do with it, there's be less of the danger going on, thank you very much!
Not every student from the school turned up, and not every member of the teams, either, but everyone was in a good enough mood to allow non-team members to join in on the fun, hop on a broom, and keep the night alive.
Crowds gathered in the stands with food and warm drinks, some with blankets, some in crazy costumes, whatever they wanted. This was a night for the students, and fun was to be had by all!

Exams were over! Finally! Now the Professors could finally shut up throwing them down their throats and just let them have time to think, and an easy end to the year.
Gripping his broom tightly, James flew a couple of laps around the pitch, waiting while the captains organized teams for the first round of the night. It wasn't even going to be a proper quidditch match this time. There weren't going to be bludgers or the snitch, just the quaffle. And to prevent each game from lasting for hours, it was going to work on a points score as well. First team to get to 100 points won.
It didn't sound like much, but it meant that hopefully they'd be able to get a load more mini games in tonight. Every team would still have seven players; one keeper, six chasers - it shouldn't be too hard, right?
"We ready for round one?" James yelled as he flew closer to where his captain stood surrounded, half by team, half by other Gryffindors who just wanted to give it a go. He looked over at his nearest team mate and grinned. "This'll be easy. We're got one of the strongest teams the schools ever known."

The school year had started off so normal, calm and had turned into something she couldn't even recognise. She'd brken rules, gotten drunk, made out with a guy she didn't really know and now she was out late again, breaking curfew, contemplating joining in the quidditch match, or at least one of the many matches the night was going to hold. Things were going to get pretty intense on the Quidditch Pitch and as Dorcas stood at the side lines, she started to feel a huge wave of self-doubt wash over her. This could potentially turn ugly and she hadn't even played a real match yet.
Dorcas wasn't the overly violent type. She wanted to see how hard the playing got, so as she looked at the teams facing one another she contemplated just going up in the stands rather than waiting on the sidelines. This was going to get dangerous, she could just tell it was and as the night progressed things would probably only get worse. No, tonight she didn't think it would be a good idea to participate. She didn't want her first quidditch experience at school to be a bad one so silently, she walked up to the stands and took her place among the chattering crowd. She looked about for some familiar faces but saw none, she shuffled through the masses, looking for a semi-familiar face to stand next to. If it turned out things weren't as bad as she'd anticipated then maybe she'd join in a little later. It was an all night shin-dig after all.

Noah shook his head and laughed, at a team mate as they walked onto the Quidditch pitch for tonight's game, or games he was hoping though with the state of his team and the other Ravenclaw's eager to give it a go, Noah was confident their team was the best on the pitch right now. Nearing where the Gryffindor's stood he smiled at James, "Would have to say your wrong there mate, I'm just sayin..." he said with a grin. He got on with James Potter, teh guy was alright, bit of a rebel but even Noah would admit the guy had talent when it came to Quidditch, which made Noah all the more excited for tonight. For a moment he looked around waiting for his team to gather before he let his eyes scan the surrounding crowd, frowning deeply and looking down when he realized who he had been looking for. Shaking his head Noah sighed and slipped on his gloves, "Ready boys?!" he called over his shoulder, shooting a look to his team, shooting them a smile. School was almost over for this year, and Noah was looking forward to this game to take his mind off the dread he felt for going home. There'd be no relaxing for him...

Lily sighed softly as she sat down in the stands surrounding the Quidditch Pitch. In the process she pulled her coat tighter around her body, despite having charmed it to ward off the cold, there was still a chill getting to her. Usually she would have hidden away in the library or her room with her nose buried in a good book, but she'd opted for something different tonight. Somehow she always missed these events and after some prompting from Emily and Ferret she'd decided to come down, though where her friends were right now she had no idea. They were supposed to meet here...
Shaking her head, Lily sighed again and looked around at the gathering students, holding a mug of hot chocolate between her hands. Glancing down to the pitch she felt her entire body give a jolt as her eyes landed on the one guy she'd done her best not to think about for a few weeks now. Frowning she glanced down at the cup in her hand and forced thoughts of that day out of her mind, smiling softly as she heard the laughter of her peers. Really, she was going to have fun tonight, after all they left school in a few days, OWL's were over so why not. Smiling a little more brightly she rested her chin on her hand and glanced back to the pitch and the players waiting for the game to begin.
