Marlene is a typical 70s rebel child; full of near insanity and spontaneity. She’s always up for trying new things with new people and is never above a petty prank at Hogwarts. Think of her as a female version of Sirius Black. She loves the feeling of being on top of the world and isn’t afraid to step on a few heads to get there. She caves in pretty easily to her desires, always wanting to keep herself having a good time which does lead her down the road of slight substance abuse and excessive partying. Not that that’s a problem; it is after all the seventies.
Marlene is a bit of a tomboy at times though. She developed a strange love for motorcycles and monster trucks when she was younger and hasn’t been able to shake it. Her entire bunk at Hogwarts is covered from top to bottom with pictures of her at various car and cycle events. Most people seem to find her boy-ish tendencies a little charming.
She’s a very independent person, never really believing that she could count on her parents has made her able to keep herself in check when no one else can. However, that doesn’t mean that she likes to control herself...she’d rather go out and have a good time than anything.
She’s not all that smart...or at least, she doesn’t apply herself when it comes to her intelligence. School and books are a waste of time for her and she just barely passed her OWLS last year. Instead of studying, she likes to wander around the castle and find out what’s going on around at all times.

Marlene says: “Emily Emily Emily. We’ve been close since she first got sorted into Gryffindor and took a seat next to me at the Start of Term Feast. I can’t imagine someone more different than I am, but it just...works. And that corruptibility? Man, she’s just asking for it this year. I’m hoping that I can get her out of that little shell this year and onto something bigger and badder...like maybe a couple of parties in Hogsmeade?”

No. There’s nothing going on between him and I. I couldn’t imagine being with him like that...could I?”

» LIANDER LLOYD HUGHES IS MY FRIENDthese two are in the same year and probably have had quite a few classes together over the years... how about they were really quite close friends in the first few years of school then drifted apart when she became more rebellious or something? maybe they can bump into each other and start talking again and kind of... rekindle that lost friendship again? it probably wouldn't take long before he admitted the truth to her either if she's someone he used to trust and probably still does. how she reacts to it though is up to you. » GEORGINA LORELEI PARKINSON IS MY ENEMYgeorgie is likely to have noticed marlene's rebellious side and have been a bit curious about her. one wrong word from her though would have put merlene quite nicely on her dislike list. or rather, her list of 'just how far can i push your buttons before you crack?' list.

She has an aura about her that Emily herself wishes she possessed sometimes. She's a stickler for the rules most times, except those few times Chase helps to persuade her to break them, but other than that she's your typical studious good girl. Maybe Marlene could persuade her one night to sneak out, show her what she's missing...I really do want Emily to loosen up a bit and I think Marlene could help in that respect. Plus Emily's extremely loyal and devoted to her friends. |

I could totally see Marley and her being the best of friends, though...perhaps since Emily was sorted into Gryffindor when Mars was a 2nd year? But maybe Marley was afraid to push her out of her comfort zone and lose her friendship; that's why she hasn't tried to do anything like that before with Emily. But now that she's in a relationship, Marley will have seen her open up to the possibilities and will convince her to join her on a nightly escapade? |

With them being complete opposites I could definitely see a friendship developing easy between them...they say opposites attract and I do believe that's true in not only romantic relationships but friendships too. Emily was never easily swayed till her fifth year so I could see Marlene being able to persuade her to break the rules pretty easily a nightly escapade is definitely something she's going to need to experience, something away from Hogwart's maybe? |

» LANCE ARTHUR THEODORE BLACKWOOD IS MY ...WELL, IT'S COMPLICATEDlance hates marlene and marlene hates lance. that fact has been true ever since lance's first year and marlene's second year when they bumped into each other in the corridor, and it ended in a hexing fight. since then, the two of them have been at each other's throats at every possible opportunity. needless to say, nobody turns lance on like marlene does. in the last year or so, every time lance has had the opportunity to curse marlene, he hasn't been able to do anything but think about what it would be like to throw her onto the ground and shove his tongue down her throat. |
