in-depth appearance:
Albert Dimmare cuts an imposing figure, tall and dignified. He is 6'4" when he stands up straight, but has developed a vulture-like stoop in his older years. Combined with the aquiline cast of his face and the hawkish aspect to his nose and cheekbones, he somewhat resembles a great bird of prey preparing to pounce. His nose and high forehead come from his paternal grandfather, but he inherited the Malfoi hair and eyes. His hair is a pale whitish-gold, somewhat rich in colour than the English Malfoy's through interbreeding with Welsh settlers in the Malfoi's homeland of Brittany. His eyes are a pale stormy-grey and are deeply set within their sockets and shaded by his eyebrows, and he occasionally needs glasses when reading particularly small and dense legal text. When he allows his beard to grow out he keeps it neat and closely cropped, and though his face is lightly wrinkled his features remain strong and imposing.
He has the long fingers and delicate hands of a patrician; perfectly shaped to hold a wand but callous free and unused to manual labour. He is leanly built; not overly thin but certainly not with any kind of threatening musculature. Largely his body is well proportioned, though his arms are quite long and sometimes give a spider-like impression. He is never seen out of Wizarding clothing even on the hottest day, preferring to wear a Cooling Charmed under-robe than deign to appear less than perfectly presentable. More often, given England's cool and misty climate, he wears ornate and heavy robes in dull and dark colours; blacks, greys, black-greens. He occasionally wears ties and scarves but prefers to simply charm his robe-collars for warmth.

Albert Dimmare is a gentleman. A true gentleman, unlike many of those who claim the title nowadays. He is always elegant and refined, ever the pinnacle of civility and would rather die than give offence or raise his voice. He does not get angry, refuses to speak ill of others, treats gentlemen like brothers and women like goddesses. Courteous, restrained and superior, he refuses to lower himself to the level of those around him with their petty feuds and hatred and backstabbing. He will never say anything behind someone's back that he wouldn't say to their face, and conducts both financial and political affairs in purely business-like fashion, without rancour or aggression.in-depth personality:
And none of this will stop him from destroying the life and reputation of anyone who gets in his way without thinking twice. Though he prefers not to get his hands dirty (as befits a nobleman) he will happily connive, manipulate, blackmail, torture and murder without the slightest qualm. He does not enjoy such things, he just sees guilt and self-doubt over necessary action to be a waste (he is also a textbook sociopath). He feels no emotional attachment to his colleagues, friends, allies and family, viewing them as possessions or advantages; valuable but not worth loosing face over.
He is a staunch Blood Purist, who believes fervently in the superiority of a world without Muggles or Mudbloods (though he would never use such an uncouth term). His support of the last two Dark Lords has lost him no sleep, and he has happily provided money, political clout, training and actual time and energy if necessary into bringing about their dreams of Pureblood domination. He is fiercely intelligent, ever so slightly prescient (due to his Seeress mother) which renders him very difficult to shock, alarm or surprise, and is an incomparably talented Legilimencer who is capable of killing with the power of his mind alone (and has manipulated Wizenagamot rulings and the legal system ever so precisely for the last thirty years to ensure that doing so is completely legal).

Undignified or unchivalrous behaviour of any kind, idiots of any breed, English food, English beer, French weather, getting his hands 'dirty' or dirty, loosing face in public, Muggles, Muggleborns, blood traitors, the memory of his pathetic father, the Malfoys (who he considers to be the most classless breed of nobility). boggart: Albert's greatest fear is loosing his magic and becoming a Muggle His Boggart therefore appears as his own broken and mangled wand.
patronus: Snow leopard. Graceful and elegant, but deadly.

parents:
Aubert Dimmare, b. 1885 - d. 1972: The head of France's wealthiest and most respected family, Aubert Dimmare was a weak-willed and vacillating man who spent most of his life controlled through a combination of Potions, Charms and 'charms' by his viper of a wife. A disappointment to his father (a retired Auror and then French Wizenagamot member), Aubert spent his money and his influence as his wife willed in advancing her bigoted agenda. He had very little influence on his son, save for passing on several of his father's talents and strengths and serving as a 'poor example of manhood and Lordship'.
Cassandra Dimmare nee Malfoi, quarter-Veela, b. 15 March 1894: Descended from Cassius Malfoi (whose brother Brutus moved to Britain and changed the name to Malfoy early in the 17th Century), Cassandra was the daughter of one of France's most wealthy and reputable Pureblood houses. Being far more schooled in subtlety and restraint than their English cousins, the Malfois had managed to avoid being so openly associated with the Dark Arts, though they were just as prejudiced against Muggleborns and 'blood-traitors'. A notable Seeress, Cassandra contributed to the Pureblood cause by delivering fake or sabotaged prophecies to many Mudbloods, blood-traitors and servants of 'the Light'. After moving with her family to England in 1928, she stopped performing Divination for money and instead began teaching, her least known student being Sybill Trelawney whose Gift she sabotaged as best she could. In her 'decrepit old age' she has moved into Malfoi Manor in Glamorgen, where she is often joined by Aubert, his wife and their children.

siblings:
Patric Dimmare, b. 1916 - d. 1928: A weak and sickly child, Patric took far more after his ineffectual father than his mother, brother or more formidable paternal grandfather. Cassandra viewed him as a weakness and a liability, and indoctrinated Albert in this view from his brother's birth. On his return home from Beauxbatons after First Year, Albert used his nascent Legilimency (through a combination of natural talent, Veela proficiency, coaching from his mother and classes at school) to enter his brother's weak and venal mind and implant a strong impulse towards self-harm and fearless stupidity. In the summer before Albert's Four Year his brother drowned in a well on the manor grounds, and escape from the scandal was a major imperative behind their move to England short months later. in depth history:
Albert Patrick Dimmare was born to Aubert Dimmare and Cassandra Dimmare nee Malfoi in their family home in Brittany on the 20th February 1914. Tutored by his mother until he started Beauxbatons at 8, he learnt at her knee the use of Legilimency, the basics of magic and a thorough distaste for all things Muggle. His brother Patric was born in 1916, and his whole childhood he was indoctrinated to agree with his mother’s view of his father and brother; that they were weak, pathetic, ineffectual liabilities to the family. By the time he started at Beauxbatons in 1922, Albert’s nascent Legilimency was powerful enough that he and his mother would communicate more often by sharing emotions and memories than using words. When this was discovered, tutors were hired and he received special classes to enable him to control his Legilimency enough that he wouldn’t invade the privacy of the other students.
Of course, he used the new-found control he had gained to make his invasions of his classmate’s minds harder to notice and the basic Occlumency he had learnt to hide his guilt. When he returned from his first year at Beauxbatons he began to implant a strong lack of self-preservation and an unconscious death wish in his younger brother’s mind, which he reinforced every summer until his brother drowned himself (by accident or design) in late July 1928. Construction immediately began on a property in England as the Dimmare family prepared to leave the country, and when he returned to school in September it was in Hogwarts, his family having made the move in late August.
He was Sorted into Slytherin and quickly gained a fearsome reputation among his Housemates that never spread to the rest of the school for fear of ‘accidents’. He was made Prefect in his Fifth Year, but missed out on the Head Boy spot in 1931 (though some of the wiser Slytherins suspected that he was instead the power behind the throne). After graduation he studied Wizarding Law at Europe’s finest Magical University and opened up his own law firm in 1935. The same year he began courting Vanessa Rosier with whose family his mother had arranged a marriage. They were wed in 1938 and Albert became Head of both the Dimmare and Malfoi families and took up his family seats in the Wizenagamot, moving into Dimmare House in London with his family as his parents retired to Malfoi Manor in Wales.
After his firm began making serious money in 1937 (due to Albert’s legal savvy and willingness to Legilimence the opposition), he opened up negotiations with Gellert Grindelwald and began funding many of the Dark Lord’s enterprises as well as training those of his recruits who needed it in Occlumency and Legilimency, in addition to helping with the design and Warding of Nurmengard in 1941-42. His alliance with Grindelwald lasted until the birth of his first son Albert Dimmare II in mid 1944, at whose birth his mother Cassandra delivered a prophecy relating to Grindelwald’s fall. He posed as an informant on Grindelwald in late 1944 and continued to deliver information on his former ally’s plans until Albus Dumbledore’s victory in 1945.
When Tom Riddle graduated Hogwarts in 1947 Albert had already heard a great deal about the young Slytherin from various sources (including an unsuspecting Horace Slughorn). Tracking him down, he offered to train Riddle in Mind Magics, and did so sporadically when they could find time from 1947 – 1963, when Albert put their ‘friendship’ on hold due to the birth of his second son Patrick Dimmare. On the advice of his mother’s Seeric capabilities Albert re-contacted Tom Riddle (now known as Lord Voldemort) in 1965, and was a key founding and funding member of the Death Eaters.
From 1966 through to 1974 he played a similar role among the Death Eaters to that he’d played with Grindelwald, providing financial and political aid and training, as well as leading and carrying out ‘negotiations’ and missions of a more sensitive nature. He also continued his work in the Wizenagamot and legal system to further the aims of Pureblood supremacy, passing various laws that discriminated against werewolves and Muggleborns, and nearly passing a Muggle-Hunting bill in 1971, which was only tabled and not rejected or overturned despite Albus Dumbledore’s best efforts. In 1974 his wife died giving birth to their third child, Cassarah Dimmare, and Albert turned the raising of his children over to his mother. Currently, he is committed supporter of the Pureblood ethos and a loyal and honest ally to Lord Voldemort, though should his mother sense a change in the wind like she did at the end of the Grindelwald War, Albert might be tempted to turn turncoat and change sides once more.
