The dance was amazing fun. Dorcas had enjoyed every second thus far. Putting everyone in masks and getting them to mingle really helped in keeping the hate down, even if it was only for one night though the image of people going to lessons all in masks was a fun one to Dorcas, of course there were many flaws such as the teachers not knowing who to give house points to or even detain but it didn't matter, in Dorcas' world in her own mind every day was like tonight, elegant, classy and fun.
Dorcas had a few dances with a few different guys and she had a blast, she enjoyed looking at all the others dancing around and what their outfits were. There were all sorts of outfits and all level of dancers, having had a very uppity pure blooded mother, Dorcas had learnt how to dance and luckily had learnt to dance in giant dresses like the one she had on tonight. Dorcas couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the night would have in store for her but to find out she had to do something other than stand watching the frivolities.
Heading towards the drinks table at the back, Dorcas passed all sorts of couples and groups. Some couples were kissing all ready and some were arguing about how to dance and having been stepped on, but what did it matter tonight? If you didn't like your dance partner move on to another one! Who would know? Unless of course they were foolish enough to meet up before the dance, what would be the point in that really? Wasn't half the fun all the mystery that the night held? Dorcas thought it was.
There were quite a few people around the drinks table getting refreshments and Professors keeping an eye on every punch bowl. Dorcas poured herself a drink, watching the professors before turning her head. "Wow, it's almost like they don't trust us." She said sarcastically to the person standing next to her, getting their drink also.

Olivia was having so much fun, the masquerade idea was truly an inspired one. If possible it made the ball even more fun. No one knew who anyone was but it did nothing to diminish the fun they were all having, if possible this was probably the most relaxed time they'd all had together. Status meant nothing tonight which Olivia though was just wonderful. Everyone looked so elegant and beautiful as well, it truly was magical.
Spinning away from the guys she'd been dancing with, Olivia danced her way over to the drinks table. She'd long since given up trying to find Christopher, there was no way she could make him out, not in this crowd. It left part of her looking forward to midnight when the masks finally did come off, she'd make sure she made up for missing him. It still amazed her she was with someone like Christopher, after all she wasn't usually the kind of girl who'd settle for one guy but he was so wonderful she found herself falling for him even more every moment they were together.
Coming to a stop at the drinks table, she bumped some guy out of her way with her hip playfully. Laughing softly she got herself a drink and turned to observe the crowd, taking a small sip of her drink just in time to hear the person next to her talk. Laughing softly she shook her head and gave a light shrug of her shoulders, "Can you really blame them after the Halloween ball...think they're just as eager to avoid a repeat of that as most of us are." Olivia said with a grimace, though felt unable to stop the spread of a smile when she remembered about poor Chase and Lachlan.
Looking over to the girl she smiled, taking notice of her dress. Of course she didn't know the girl, due to the mask but she noted how pretty she looked, "Your dress is stunning." she commented, giving the girl a bright, sincere smile before she took another sip of her drink.

Dorcas laughed. Halloween had certainly been a night to remember and all though she had not seen the events that had unfolded she had heard all about them. It had been the biggest rumour going around the school for a while so of course she'd heard about it. The poor lads. "I know, but still, a love potion would have been more perfectly suited to tonight than halloween but all in the name of fun, well mostly." Dorcas turned about after getting her drink and smiled at the girl, forgetting that her mouth couldn't be seen because of her mask.
"Oh, sorry, I'm smiling under this." She said, pointing to her mask. "Thank you. And you yourself look absolutely amazing, your mask is so adorable. Where abouts did you get your dress from?" Dorcas quickly leant back towards the table and grabbed herself a straw. She wasn't going to be able to keep lifting her mask up to take a drink, and besides, she was supposed to keep the thing on until midnight. If only she had thought before the ball to enchant it with some port of spell so that the fake lips acted as her own, smiled when she smiled and enable her to drink properly, not by sticking a straw in her plastic cup and poking it beneath her mask as she had just done. She was sure she didn't look overly lady-like but she wasn't all that bothered. It wasn't as if she was trying to impress some guy and even if she was, it wasn't as if they knew who she was just yet. Dorcas took a few sips of her punch. If it was spiked in any sort of way, she couldn't tell.

Olivia smiled again, “A love potion would have been appropriate but I’m glad they didn’t do anything like that tonight. Last thing we needed is the trouble it caused last time.” she commented, looking at the girl beside her and laughing softly. Part of the reason she hadn’t gone for a full mask was because she hated her face being covered, it made her feel claustrophobic almost and she hated it. Taking a sip of her drink she looked down at her dress.
“My Mother actually, custom made...far be it from me to pick my own gown.” she said to the girl, making a show of rolling her eyes and sighing. The sooner she got away from the school and home and away from her parents the better. Maybe then she could start making her own decisions on how her life was meant to be lived. “Good idea though right...a masked ball...something so mysterious about it tonight, it’s hard not to get sucked into the atmosphere.” she commented, taking another sip of her punch and diverting her attention from the crowd and back to the girl beside her.

Dorcas swayed a little to the music, the dance was fantastic for what it was, a school dance. Everyone was enjoying themselves and Dorcas was determined to have a great night. She wanted to dance and have fun, she wanted to dance with strangers and get compliments on her dress from all sorts of different people. She loved attention, from everyone.
"Your parents? They wont let you choose your own dress?" Dorcas asked, not that it mattered, whoever this girl was she looked amazing. The dress hugged her body beautifully and Dorcas was certain that the girl would look just as stunning with the mask off.
"I love the idea of a masked ball and I think tonight is going really well! I hope we get another few of these dances or some equally fun and mysterious!" Dorcas spun around on the spot and giggled. "I'm just in love with this night! Such splendour. I can't wait until everyone's masks come off to see who everyone's ended up with! Such excitement!" Dorcas had tingles down her spine, she was looking forward to seeing who he last dance was going to be with.
"Have you got your eye on anyone this evening?" Dorcas asked, she didn't know who this girl was but they could still had girl talk, if the girl was up for it of course!
