It was way past curfew, past midnight but Elena Haworth didn't care, she continued to walk through the corridors as though it was simply normal school hours, not caring in the least if she was caught. What was the worst the Professors could do? Give her detention...so what, she'd been there plenty of times before, they no longer bothered her, in fact if she managed to get through an entire week without getting at least one detention then there was likely something wrong with the blonde.
Her heels clicked loudly, echoing down the hallway as she entered the familiar dungeon, making her way into the Slytherin common room. As expected it was empty but again, what did she care, being alone was something she enjoyed, and often craved after a day full of lessons, plus it meant no one would begin to question why she'd been out this late. Not that she'd been up to anything sinister, she'd only been down to the kitchens for a bowl of strawberries, something she'd had a craving for all day. So shrugging off her oversized shirt, she was left in her heels, thigh high stockings and dress, and sat down on the plush sofa, in front of a roaring fire, laying her legs on the cushions.
Taking the first bite of the strawberry she sighed contentedly and then looked at the fire, narrowing her eyes only slightly to try and make pictures out of the flames. She was dying to get out of this place for one night, away from the idiots still gossiping about the attack on those students. She herself didn't see what the fuss was about, after all they weren't dead...sadly...people needed to just get over it. Shaking her head, she tossed the top green stem of the strawberry into the flame, reaching for another when she heard the quiet footsteps of someone approaching, "Bugger off..." she called out without even looking behind her to see who it was.

With a sigh, Narcissa flipped the covers off and climbed out of bed. What was the point in kidding herself - she wasn't getting to sleep with the way she was feeling right then. She slipped into the bathroom, quiet enough so that she didn't wake her sleeping roommates. That was the last thing that she needed. Inside the bathroom, she stopped and stared at herself in the mirror. What was that ungodly mess that she saw? She attacked her hair with a brush until it returned to its usual sleek look. She hadn't realized how much she had been tossing and turning for the past hour until she saw just how much of a mess her hair was in. If one thing was certain, Narcissa had no intention of staying in the dorm with nothing to do just because she couldn't sleep. Another thing that was certain? She wasn't going out until she looked at least slightly decent. A little lipstick and some mascara could go a long way. With a sigh, she left the bathroom. She just had to hope that she was alone in the common room, or that if anyone was there, it was no one of importance. Oh heaven forbid should Lucius or Amycus still be up! That was the last thing she needed. That thought alone was almost enough to make her climb back into bed and hide under her covers. But no, she grabbed a jumper and her slippers and headed out of the room - she wouldn't let them idiots dictate her life and make her look around every corner before walking. They could go to hell. Heading into the common room she could see the glowing of the fireplace as the heat swept over her. All those students who thought the Slytherins must live in freezing cold dorms becuase they were in the dungeons were so terribly wrong. They probably had the warmest room of them all, simply because they were purebloods, brought up in the finest of homes, and they desired such luxuries. You must be crazy if you thought you'd see Narcissa willingly sitting in the cold just because of some stupid prejudiced assumption based on her house. She wasn't alone in the common room. She could see a familiar head of blond as she neared and she smirked. That girls oozed more attitude than she did. Which probably explained why they got along so well. Elena was perhaps the only on in her dorm who's company she didn't mind. The others tended to be to copy-cat and followed her everywhere. That sometimes got more than a little annoying. "Now is that any way to talk to your fellow roommate, Elena?"

The last thing Elena was in the mood for was entertaining snivelling snot nosed brats in the years below her, hence why she called out, she so often found they'd retreat quickly if she barked out at them like that, most of them after all did think she was something of a vampire. The way she looked, dressed, acted, it caused a stir among a lot of people, most of whom weren't Slytherin's so in the grand scheme of things their opinion meant nothing, not that she'd ever cared what people thought but...well you get what we're saying.
"Now is that any way to talk to your fellow roommate, Elena?"
Elena smirked slightly, allowing herself to relax somewhat when the familiar voice of her room mate and friend reached her ears, ""Thought you were those snot nosed 2nd years again..." Elena grumbled, looking at Narcissa as she dangled her head over the arm of the chair. She suddenly began wondering what had her friend up at this late hour, usually she'd been peacefully sleeping in bed, Elena was the insomniac.
"What you doing out of bed this late?" she asked, popping a strawberry into her mouth before nodding to the other chair, indicating for the other blonde to sit. Elena enjoyed her isolation at times but found she actually enjoyed being around Narcissa, perhaps it was because in so many ways they were alike, yet in others completely different.

"A snotty nosed second year? What would a Gryffindor be doing in our common room?" Narcissa smirked. "The second years may not be pleasant company but have a little more respect for our own. At least they're well bred... mostly."
The same couldn't be said for all of the second year Slytherin's. There was one in particular who was just down right pathetic. How many times could the kid 'forget' which was the right wall to get into the common room?
Narcissa shook her head at the sight of her friend leaning stupidly over the arm of the chair to look at her.
They were great friends - closer to each other than with any of the others in their dorm, but they were vastly different people. For one thing, Narcissa could spend ages perfecting her hair to look brilliant. Elena would run her fingers through hers to mess it up more and look fantastic. That was how different the two girls were. Different styles, clothes, actions... but they worked to well together that you might think they were from the same batch. Well, it wouldn't be the first time.
Sighing, Narcissa sunk into the chair that Elena had motioned to and closed her eyes. There was only the two of them in the room so Narcissa let herself relax, not caring too much about what she looked like slumped in the chair. It was comfy. That mattered.
Now she was down here and comfortable her eyes felt heavy and she wished she was in her bed so that she could sleep. Elena asked what she was doing up and she laughed softly, eyes still shut. "Ask me a minute ago and I'd have said I couldn't sleep. Though now I'm not so sure. Anyway... there's just too much on my mind."
Her freaky followers to name a few.

"Well bred maybe but you can't deny most of them are idiots...I walked in on one of them shouting the password at the wrong wall yesterday...on the wrong floor..." she replied back to Narcissa, shooting a grin at her polite friend as she lounged over the chair. Just once she'd love to see Cissa simply not care like her, and just loosen up once and a while. She seemed so stiff all the time, but Elena loved her dearly, in fact she was probably one of the only people apart from a few, Elena could stand to be around for more than a few minutes.
"Loosen up a little..." Elena told her as she sat down and she was glad to see the other blonde relaxed somewhat. It wasn't often Cissa would let herself do it, usually only Elena got to see that more relaxed side of her...actually Cissa was probably the only one who got to see the not so bitchy side of Elena as well.
"Come on then tell Auntie Elena what's playing on that pretty mind of yours..." she said, straightening up in her seat, focusing her attention on the other girl. Popping a strawberry in to her mouth she held out the bowl to Cissa, offering her one if she so wanted. Shooting her friend a knowing look, Elena inclined her head to the side ever so slightly and smiled, "Please tell me your not thinking about dear old Lucious...or is it Amycus tonight? I forget whose chasing you these days..." she teased wiggling her eyebrows, laughing softly.
The two guys were not subtle in their chase for Narcissa, in fact most of the guys that did Chase the blonde were the same, but these two were the ones that stood out the most and seemed to make more of a play for Cissa's affections.

Narcissa had to roll her eyes. Yes, he was a rather pathetic child. She had no doubt that the boy Elena had just mentioned was the same on that she was thinking of. She'd seen him standing in the wrong part of the dungeons saying the wrong password but that was a new one. What other floor looked like the dungeons? None. Foolish child. Had he still be a first year she almost could have accepted it, but now? The boy had been here over a year for heavens sake!
Narcissa shot a look over to Elena when she told her to loosen up. "Please, I'm tired. I'm hardly in the mood that." She looked away. Some times she couldn't help but envy how easy Elena made life look. She lived like there were no expectations and no image to be upheld. Maybe it was just Narcissa upbringing that had her constantly thinking about what she appeared like to others with every little action she made...
"Come on then tell Auntie Elena what's playing on that pretty mind of yours...Please tell me your not thinking about dear old Lucius...or is it Amycus tonight? I forget whose chasing you these days..."
Narcissa sighed and accepted one of the strawberries offered to her, but ignored Elena's teasing tone. "I'd rather it be neither of them, but if they must, why can't they just keep their thoughts to themselves like any other guy? They must be the only two who can be so blunt and outright. I know there's all the sayings of how you shouldn't beat about the bush and all that, but those two bring a whole new meaning, and it's not all too becoming..."
There were guys who had their eyes on Narcissa. And why wouldn't they? She knew how beautiful she was. She was a Black. Being gorgeous came with the name. And the name itself was a one that anyone would want to associate with. However, very few guys she'd ever met had ever been as outward and forward as Lucius and Amycus were. It was ridiculous.
"Go on, tell me that you have more luck that I do with guys. Just say it. It's true. You don't get the same weirdos as I do."

Elena rolled her eyes at Narcissa's response. It wasn't really a surprise, she couldn't remember a time when the other girl had taken her advice and loosened up a bit. Elena just couldn't understand why her friend was always so concious about what others thought about her. Didn't she understand life was so much more better if you simply gave up on thinking like that, Elena after all was in no way out to impress anyone and she didn't care at all about what other people thought of her.
Actually it was part of a goal Elena had set herself, to try and get Narcissa to let loose at least one time. To figure out it wasn't a bad thing. She did envy Narcissa the fact that most guys seemed to fall at her feet. Not that Elena could blame them her friend was stunning, Elena was halfway envious of her looks, after all Elena knew she was pretty but in no way in the same league as Narcissa. "Maybe you should just put them out their misery...if you like one just tell him, if you like neither tell them to back the hell off..."
At Narcissa's question she laughed and shook her head, biting into a strawberry, not answering right away. "I don't get weirdo's no...in fact I think most of the guys in this school are either scared of me or just don't see me in that way..." she answered finally with a unbothered shrug, "I mean there's Granton...we have fun but it's nothing serious no...just the way I enjoy things..." she added with a smile. Making a mental note to pull him aside tomorrow, it had been too long since they'd 'hooked up' so to speak.
Tossing the stork of the strawberry into the fire. Running a hand through her hair she sighed, her eyes flickering down to her watch where she pulled a face. She wasn't keen on the idea of going to bed just yet.

"Maybe you should just put them out their misery...if you like one just tell him, if you like neither tell them to back the hell off..."
Narcissa gave her a look. ”Did you not hear who I’m talking about. It’s Lucius and Amycus. Like one? No chance! Tell them that? Are you kidding me?” she knew what they were like, and they weren’t the type to take no for an answer. Honestly? It would probably only encourage them more! And she already had the stupid date to get around…
”Speaking of Granton, I don’t think you ever even told me how this whole thing came about. How did you manage to snag the head boy as your bed-buddy?” She sent Elena a wink so that the other girl would know she meant what she said with the best intentions. While personally Narcissa wasn’t the biggest fan of the whole ‘friends with benefits’ idea, she wasn’t about to say anything about it in front of Elena. Besides, it was Granton they were talking about. Elena would have been crazy to pass up her chance with a guy like him, though, why she’d settle for just ‘friends’ and not make a lasting relationship out of it Narcissa would never know.
At Narcissa's question she laughed and shook her head, biting into a strawberry, not answering right away."I don't get weirdo's no...in fact I think most of the guys in this school are either scared of me or just don't see me in that way..."she answered finally with a unbothered shrug,"I mean there's Granton...we have fun but it's nothing serious no...just the way I enjoy things..."she added with a smile. Making a mental note to pull him aside tomorrow, it had been too long since they'd'hooked up'so to speak.
