That smile, caused the butterflies in Emily's stomach to flutter as they so often did in his presence. For a moment she felt somewhat lighter, more like herself, especially when his hand held onto hers just that little bit tighter. She fell into step with Chase, feeling a little tense as they prepared to leave the classroom but with Chase by her side she didn't worry...well not until he stopped abruptly and spun around to face her. Sadly he hadn't missed her little slip up and the butterflies in her stomach disappeared and instead it twisted uneasily.
"'He' who, Em? What's going on?"
Not making eye contact she shook her head, tucking her hair behind her ear, shifting her foot slightly uneasy. "He's...it's not...Nothings going on Chase, I just...look I thought we were going to get something to eat?" she said, forcing herself to look at him properly. He didn't want to talk about things here, so there was no way in hell she was going to spill all of her own secrets here, she knew better than most how these walls could talk.
Closing her eyes she turned away from Chase, letting go of his hand to step towards the door. Reaching out she took hold of the handle, taking a small breath as she bit down on her lip and looked back at him, "Something happened when I left the ball on Friday...after seeing you and Lachie, I left and..." she sighed and looked away from him. "Can we just go somewhere else please...if you want to talk then fine but we can't stay here." she said quietly, holding out her hand to him, taking a moment to gather herself before she looked up at him properly. If they were going to talk, they couldn't do it here...

Emily wouldn't even meet his eye or look at him, and that worried him. Something really had to be up for her to be like this, and it worried him. Everything that he'd wanted to say about Friday night seemed so pointless now that he'd seen her and it was clear that there was something else that had happened. When she answered him she didn't even seem to know what to say, tripping over her words and eventually changing the subject to try and avoid it. It was only then that she looked up at him, but he wasn't about to be convinced.
Stepping closer to her he raised one hand, letting his fingers drift lightly up her cheek, then back down again, thumb stopping to brush lightly over her lower lip. "Emily..." He said it in scarcely more than a whisper, something twisting uneasily in his stomach. Why couldn't she just tell him what was going on? More than that, he really didn't know how to even act around her. He didn't know where they stood after what had happened. Were they still together? Where they not? How close was she about to let him? He just didn't know, and it didn't seem to be the thing that she most wanted to talk about right now. It wasn't big on his mind either, though if he'd been asked just ten minutes earlier it would have been the only thing on his mind.
Emily closed her eyes and turned away from him, letting go of his hand. As she stepped away he let his hand fall too with a sigh. He really didn't know what to say or what to do. If she wasn't going to talk to him then-
"Something happened when I left the ball on Friday...after seeing you and Lachie, I left and..."
His eyes shot to hers, hoping to hear more. While the part of him that was worried about why she wasn't talking to him eased, a new part of worry entered him and a dozen thoughts passed through his mind of what that something could be.
"Can we just go somewhere else please...if you want to talk then fine but we can't stay here."
Chase nodded, reaching out and talking her hand in his, squeezing lightly. When she finally looked up at him he stepped towards her, not caring about whether he should or shouldn't do it, and pulled her into a hug, dropping her hand again so that he could hold her close to him. He rested his head against her's and he couldn't help but breathe in deeply through his nose, letting the familiar scent of her fill his nostrils. It was ridiculous how much he'd missed her when he thought that he wasn't going to get her back.
One hand stayed wrapped firmly around her waist while the other rubbed up her back a few times before finally settling at the back of her neck and keeping her close. He turned his face into her hair till he was right by her ear before whispering to her. "You know you can talk to me, Em. About anything. You know that, right?"
He waited for a response from her before he pulled back slightly, looking down into her face. "Kitchens then room of requirement to eat? Then, you tell me everything. Okay?" Not even waiting for a response he leaned in and pressed a kiss against her forehead. He just hoped that by time they got there that she was still willing to talk.

Emily had nearly melted into his touch, his scent, his presence just all of him, Chase seemed to have this power over her body that even surprised Emily at times. Why she'd turned away she hadn't understood, maybe it was just to grab a hold of her emotions and everything, before she ended up spilling all about Halloween, here in the classroom and that wasn't an option, anyone could walk in on them at any time.
Yes. Emily knew without a doubt she was going to tell all to Chase now, she had to. It was eating her alive inside and she craved being close to him again. What happened on Friday had been out of his control, although she was still angry at whoever had spiked the punch because it was there fault Chase had been poisoned with it. Though her upset had lessoned considerably, she half just wanted to forget about it and move on. The words he'd spoken to her before the ball still rang loudly in her head, she knew he cared, she just hoped he cared enough to stick around. Her reliance on him was slightly scary.
When Chase nodded his head and took her outstretched hand she allowed a sincere smile to grace her face. He moved toward her, dropping her hand as he instead pulled her into a hug, it was an embrace she sunk right into. Emily let her own arms wrap around his back as they held each other close. Burying her face into his chest, she sighed quietly, closing her eyes. His hand rubbed her back soothingly before he held onto the base of her neck, keeping her close to him as he turned to whisper in her ear. Emily kept her eyes closed as she listened to his words, feeling tears threaten to build behind her closed eyes. "I know I can...and that's what I need to do right now. I need to...to talk to someone before I completely lose it." she admitted, looking up at him when he pulled back.
"Kitchens then room of requirement to eat? Then, you tell me everything. Okay?"
Emily nodded her head, her hands resting on Chase's waist as she took a shuddering breath, "I'll tell you...everything...but I need you to swear you'll never repeat what I tell you Chase...never. Not even if it's the right thing to do." she told him, locking her eyes onto his. He had to understand that there was no repeating what she was going to tell him, to anyone, even though it made her feel sick to the stomach she couldn't risk his life like that, or Lachies, or her families.
Emily leaned into Chase as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, making her heart thud against her chest. Sighing she let her hands rest on his chest as they parted, and taking another breath she nodded her head, sliding her hand into his own as she turned back towards the door. Reaching another hand out she pulled it open and stepped out in to the hall, looking back at Chase to make sure he was with her before he eyes unconciously, quickly scanned the hallway around them making sure there was no one around.

Chase let out a sigh on relief when she agreed to tell him everything. It was obvious that whatever it was it was tearing at her, and he was just glad that she was going to trust him enough to tell him everything that had happened. At least Friday hadn't ruined everything, and there was still hope for them yet. This had to mean something, didn't it?
"I'll tell you...everything...but I need you to swear you'll never repeat what I tell you Chase...never. Not even if it's the right thing to do."
Emily's eyes locked onto his and for several seconds he could do nothing but stare back into hers. Then, not knowing what he was supposed to say or do in response, he let out a short, incredulous, short of laugh and shook his head. What was he supposed to say to that? "Em... are things really that bad?"
He didn't mean to say it in a way that would make her think he didn't believe her, but the whole 'never tell even if you should' thing? It was quite frankly scary. Nothing had happened that night, right?
His eyes drifted back to the classroom that they were standing in and he turned to look over his shoulder at the desk where Professor Dupree had been sitting not to long ago. She'd seemed very unfocused... And what about the rest of the Professors he'd had today? After the ball they surely should have been in a good mood but... they weren't... They all seemed a little tense and serious and... And why were they all saying that Dawlish was sick? Could that be a lie? Had something happened?
Chase looked back to Emily and nodded slowly, an unspoken question in his eye and a serious look on his face. Whatever it was...
Emily took his hand before heading back towards the door and he followed her, making sure he grabbed their bags off the desk nearest him, where he didn't even realize he'd put them down.
She looked back at him and he gave her what he hoped was a reassuring smile. He didn't miss the way she seemed to scan the corridor for something before heading out. Worry twisted his stomach and his mind raced at the thought of whatever it was she was going to tell him.
He let go of her hand and instead slipped his arm around her waist so that there was very little space between them as they walked, pulling her close to him. After what had happened at the ball, the whispers about him and Lachie weren't the only ones he'd heard. He was pretty sure that word had got out about him and Emily too. Those who'd been standing nearest to them would have heard what was said and... well, surely it didn't matter about who saw them together now, did it? They didn't need to hide.
The walk down to the kitchens was a quiet one, but the comfortable sort of silence, not the awkward kind. Slipping inside, they were greeted by several happy-faced house elves who were asking what they wanted. Chase listed off a few things - namely sweet things but also a few other things that were more 'meal'y' than sweets, and pulled Emily over to where the left overs from Halloween were still stacked on a small table in the corner. Grinning, he picked up a few bits and filled his bag with them. "Just in case we need more sweets after the ones we're already getting"
Within minutes, the house elves had gathered everything that he'd asked for and stored them all nicely inside a little basket for them. Two baskets rather. One of them said something about a cooling charm on the icecream in the second basket but Chase didn't think too much about it, just thanked them and took the baskets.
Outside, he glanced down the corridor to where the barrels hid the entrance way to the Hufflepuff common room, then looked the other way that led back to the entrance hall. They'd just come from the second floor to the ground, and the room of requirements was back up on forth... "Em? Do you want to go to the room of requirements or see if my dorms free? I mean... rather than going back up the way we've just been..." He shook his head, knowing how it must sound. "I just mean, as another option. I'm not saying my dorm because... you know... just... to talk - and if anyone else is there we'll leave, no worries."
Chase sent her another lopsided smile and waited for a reply.

Emily had chosen to ignore the question Chase had asked, as well as the small laugh he'd released. She realised how ridiculous and paranoid she may have sounded, but she had to make sure Chase was aware he couldn't tell anyone. God only knew what would happen should he tell anyone else. Maybe she was being paranoid...maybe...but it paid to be cautious, especially now. Look at Professor Dawlish, he'd let his guard down for all of a second and had been kidnapped, and he was an Auror to top things off. If someone as educated and skilled as him could be hurt or taken then what hope did she really have.
When he'd followed her into the hallway, Chase dropped her hand and Emily frowned, turning to look at him. Before she could think too much on why he'd let go, the reason became apparent and Chase snaked his arm around her waist, holding her close to him. That extra bit of contact gave her all the comfort and support she needed. Part of her didn't even catch onto the fact that he was holding her in a public place, where anyone, at anytime could see them. Emily quickly realised however she didn't care, people were bound to know something after all they had made a little bit of a scene at the ball. Plus come to think of it, what was the point in hiding their relationship, if that's what this still was, she couldn't even remember why she had wanted to keep it between them in the first place.
Luckily for her, Chase wasn't someone who tried to fill the silence with awkward conversation, so the walk down to the kitchens although it was a silent one, it was a comfortable one and for that she was thankful. For the first time all weekend she didn't feel that immense dread she'd felt for the past three days. Upon entering the kitchen she felt another smile grace her face when the elves appeared. They were only too willing to help the young couple out and as soon as Chase had told them what they needed, the elves were off. Chase pulled her over to a small table where the smile on Emily's face only widened, and as Chase proceeded to fill his own bag with more sweets, insisting they may need more, she reached out and snapped up a handful of jellies, turning away from Chase with a smile. "Fine with me...I'd live off sweets if I could. she told him, popping a few jellies into her mouth.
Taking one of the baskets from the elves, she looked at Chase, thanked the elves and waited for him to follow her. One peak in the basket confirmed that she did in fact have basket with the ice cream in it and she licked her lips. Rocking back on her heels, before her and Chase bid goodbye to the elves and they finally left the kitchens, coming to a stop just outside in the corridor beside the barrels.
"Your dorm? Are you sure...I mean...it saves walking all the way back up to the fourth floor." she said softly, replying to his smile with a small one of her own as she tucked her hair behind her ear. There were likely to be a few people in the common room who'd more than likely take an interest in seeing her and Chase disappearing up to his dorm but again she found she didn't care. If they got the privacy they needed then that was all she needed, maybe if his dorm was empty he'd allow her to cast a silencing spell on the room, just so they weren't overheard by anyone passing by the room. Taking a step closer to Chase she slipped her hand into his, "Your common room...so...after you." she said softly.

Chase nodded. "Why not? I mean... only if you want to..."
He really didn't want her to think that they had to go to his dorm if she didn't want to. He just thought it might be easier than going back upstairs past where they'd already been. Then again... if there was anyone in his dorm then they'd probably still end up going upstairs and the little detour through Hufflepuff would have been a waste. Speaking of people in the room... Chase had the feeling that if Lachie was in there they wouldn't be making such an easy escape. But, they'd deal with that when they got there.
From the kitchens, it was only a few steps further to reach the entrance way to his common room. He said the password as he normally would, not caring that Emily heard. To be honest, she probably already knew through Lachie, but if she didn't then he wasn't going to be the one complaining if she came to visit them at some point. He shrugged the thought off.
There were very few students inside when he got there and it took a while before his brain clicked. Of course. It was dinner time, wasn't it? Everyone was in, or on their way to, the Great Hall. Which certainly made things easier for him.
Slipping through unseen, baskets in hand, Chase veered them off down the short passage to the left which led to his room. Theirs was right near the end but there didn't seem to be any noises coming from any of the other rooms that they passed. It was actually slightly eerie how quiet it was... Chase couldn't remember many times he'd seen the place so empty, or so quiet. Not even when he'd been sneaking in late at night. Even then there was the sound of students snoring...
Chase stopped out side of his door and placed the basket on the floor, turning to face Emily as he let go of her hand. "Wait here," he muttered. If there was anyone in there, they were much less likely to bug him if he was alone looking in that if they saw Emily with him too, and right now he really couldn't be bothered for the comments and remarks he knew would come.
He could hear anyone and when he pushed the door open his couldn't see anyone either. His eyes scanned the room slowly. Nope, they appeared to be alone.
He pushed the door further open before turning back to Emily and sending a smile her way. "All clear." Grabbing both the basket and her hand again he pulled her into the room with him, closing the door behind them.
He had no idea whether Emily had been in here before but he didn't bother asking, just led her over to his bed. He dumped the basket of food he was carrying at the bottom and their bags next to it before kicking off his shoes. One both of the baskets were discarded he stepped upto Emily again and slid his arms around her waist, holding her close.
For a few minutes he was content just to hold her close and bury his face against the top of her head, but eventually he pulled back from her and looked down into her face. He still wanted to know everything that she was going to tell him, but before then, he really had to clear something up. The same something that had been on his mind since Friday night.
"We're okay, aren't we? Us? We're still..." He didn't quite know how to word it or how to define whatever it was that they were - or that he hoped they were. His eyes latched to his as he waited for an answer. Right now he wanted nothing more than to kiss the worry from her eyes but if things weren't okay now, then it might not be a very appreciated gesture. But after everything since the eft the classroom... things had seemed alright, hadn't they?

Emily allowed Chase to lead her into the common room with a small smile, holding onto his hand as they walked through the thankfully quiet common room. It only clicked when she looked at the lack of students aorund that it was infact dinner time, so lucky for her and Chase most people were up at the Great Hall. At least now it gave them some of the privacy she'd been craving for them to talk some.
When they finally came to a stop in what she assumed was Chase's dorm, he placed the basket in his hand down and asked her to wait. With a small nod of her head she turned to look over her shoulder as he peered inside the quiet room. As Emily turned back to face Chase, she just caught the smile he sent her way as he retrieved the basket from the ground and took her hand in his once again, leading her into the room.
As he closed the door behind them she looked around with a small smile remembering the last time she'd been in here. It had been when Trent and Chase hadn't been around and she and Lachie had just enjoyed one of their catch ups. Eating junk food, belting out Muggle songs, it had been too long since she'd just hung out with her friend like that. She missed him and was determined to change it soon.
Turning her attention back to Chase, she laid her own basket on his bed, watching as he kicked off his shoes. Finally she looked up at him, meeting his gaze head on as he stepped up to her, his arms wrapping around her waist as he once again held her tightly to him. Again she went all to willingly into the embrace, enjoying the closeness, she rested her cheek against his chest, closed her eyes and inhaled his scent allowing it to flood through her senses, calming her in ways that surprised her.
"We're okay, aren't we? Us? We're still..."
Emily looked up at Chase, meeting his eyes again and for a few moments said nothing. She slid her hands up from where they rested on his waist upto his chest, she let her eyes rest on them for a moment before letting out a small sigh. Looking back up at Chase, she moved her hands to slide over the sides of his face as she stood up on her tiptoes, closed the remaining distance between them, and kissed him softly.
For several long moments she held herself that close to him before finally pulling back, lowering herself off her tiptoes and giving him a small smile. "We're still us...I still remember everything you said before the ball and I want to be with you..." she told him softly. Waiting for his response before she took his hand and led him around the bed where she sat down, tugging his hand for him to sit beside her, "I will admit to hiding away this weekend but it wasn't because of you Chase...yeah maybe it was a little but I just didn't want to face anyone...I guess I was scared..." she sighed quietly, not sure how to carry on, tell him why it was she was scared.

Emily's hands moved to his chest and up to his face, and all the while Chase didn't move, waiting for her to say something to confirm or deny. Finally, she closed the distance between them. Chase kissed her back, letting his lips linger over hers before they pulled away, but he still kept his arms tightly around her.
"We're still us...I still remember everything you said before the ball and I want to be with you..."
His response was to lean in and press another soft kiss to her lips before giving her a soft smile. He brought one hand up from where it had been around her waist and instead brushed her hair back over her ear, letting his fingers trail down her neck, before trailing back up, thumb running along her jawline then up and over her lips. Closing the small space again he let his lips linger over hers as he spoke. "I want you too, Emily. I won't lose you over this."
Emily pulled away before taking his hand and leading him around the bed. He sat down beside her at an angle, one hand resting on the bed behind her and the other still had a tight hold of her's, resting on her leg. He brushed the back of her hand lightly with his thumb while she spoke.
"I will admit to hiding away this weekend but it wasn't because of you Chase...yeah maybe it was a little but I just didn't want to face anyone...I guess I was scared..."
Chase let go of her hand and brought his up to her face, tilting her chin up while he dipped his head slightly to look at her eyes. "Scared of what?"

"Scared of what?"
Emily let out a small sigh as she looked at Chase for a moment, debating whether it was right to tell him. Though she knew there was no way she could keep it all to herself much longer, she'd surely burst and tell the wrong person if she tried to hold it in and she knew Chase wouldn't tell anyone if she asked him not to. Looking down at her hands she blew out a small breath, "Professor Dawlish isn't sick...he's missing...he was kidnapped after the ball...and I know because I saw it happen..." she said quickly, her shoulders slumping ever so slightly.
There she'd said the hard part, but the guilt she felt didn't really lesson. "I left the ball...I saw it happen in the courtyard, two death eaters...and when I heard his voice I recognised him as one of the ones that attacked Lachie and I in the forest and before..." she trailed off and blew out a shuddering breath, shaking her head as she wiped furiously at the stray tears that had fallen. "...before I could do anything, get anyone..he put...put me under the Imperious curse...threatened to not only hurt me, but you, Lachie my family...everyone if I told any of the Professors about seeing them...
Resting her elbows on her legs, Emily let her head rest in her hands and shook her head, feeling the slight tremble in her hands as she spoke, "After that night in the forest I know exactly what this guy capable of, I've felt it...twice now...I couldn't risk it...I won't let him hurt you guys..." she said looking up at Chase. She had no regrets about not saying anything that night, it was keeping Chase, Lachie and her other loved ones safe, but at least now one of them would understand how much she did in fact care for them.
Biting down on her lip she looked back down at her hands, linking her fingers together, "But...the reason I haven't left my room all weekend is because I know that the Death Eater from that is, goes to Hogwarts...he's a student...he has to be....because he was there in the forest, with another student and they tortured us..." she said, she may not have seen his face but it made sense. So not only was there Bellatrix to keep an eye on, there was someone else to keep an eye out for, even if she didn't know what he looked liked, "It's hard enough having to see one of them on a daily basis, knowing that there's another here...I don't feel safe anymore..."
Taking a slow calming breath, Emily wiped her cheeks which were stained with tears and she sat up straight, before turning to look at Chase, "You promise you won't tell anybody....?

Whatever it was that she had to say it was clearly causing quite a bit of internal conflict. It was almost as if she was arguing with herself over whether to tell him or not, but now that he knew something was going on, there was no way that he was going to let her go without telling him even if she tried.
"Professor Dawlish isn't sick...he's missing...he was kidnapped after the ball...and I know because I saw it happen..."
Chase nodded slowly, even though she wasn't even looking at him, and waited for her to go on. Well, he'd guessed that this would have something to do with Professor Dawlish, didn't he? From the way Dupree had been acting, as well as most of the other Professors he'd seen, but... kidnapped? Wasn't that guy an auror?
"I left the ball...I saw it happen in the courtyard, two death eaters...and when I heard his voice I recognised him as one of the ones that attacked Lachie and I in the forest and before..."
While Chase had previously had his hand resting on the bed just behind her, he moved it now so that his arm was resting between her shoulders with his thumb once again rubbing in gentle circles. This was hard for Emily to say, that much was clear. He could see the tears as they fell and released the hand he'd been holding, pushing away her own hand which had been wiping at her tears and replacing it with his own, catching them and brushing them gently off her cheeks, hand cupping her face gently.
"...before I could do anything, get anyone..he put...put me under the Imperious curse...threatened to not only hurt me, but you, Lachie, my family...everyone if I told any of the Professors about seeing them... After that night in the forest I know exactly what this guy capable of, I've felt it...twice now...I couldn't risk it...I won't let him hurt you guys..."
If there was one thing that Chase didn't know, it was what to say in situations like this one. What was he even supposed to say to make her feel better? He could almost feel his blood boiling with anger at the thought of anyone torturing Emily again, or threatening her, or just generally making her feel the way that she clearly was now. He had knew that he should say something but he really didn't know what. And, he sort of needed to get this sudden burst feeling of anger under check before he said something stupid too.
Whatever Emily was feeling right now was no doubt a thousand times worse that what he did when the internal arguments of his own started. It was like having a devil sitting on one shoulder and an angel on the other. A vicious war in his head raging by of why she should or shouldn't tell someone. There was no correct answer to this...
Emily looked back down at her hands and Chase leaned in closer, arm sliding all the way around her shoulders and pulling her softly too him in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. He'd spent too long fighting his internal battle of questions that before he had the chance to say anything she'd started speaking again.
"But...the reason I haven't left my room all weekend is because I know that the Death Eater from that is, goes to Hogwarts...he's a student...he has to be....because he was there in the forest, with another student and they tortured us... It's hard enough having to see one of them on a daily basis, knowing that there's another here...I don't feel safe anymore...You promise you won't tell anybody....?"
His brows pulled together slightly. Did that mean she knew someone who'd been there and tortured her? But... that was quite a scary thought. Well, it was no secret that some students at the school were Death Eaters now, but that they were actually going around kidnapping professors and torturing students? That was something else. He didn't think they were quite so...active...
"Emily..." He shifted around so that he could look at her straight on before taking a few long seconds just to look at her. Her cheeks were tear stained and her eyes red. While the anger still burned in him at what had happened, seeing her like this made him fight it back.
Using both his hands he brushed her hair back from her face, using the motion to tilt her head towards him and give her a weak smile, thumbs running gently across her cheek bones, wiping away a few stray tears that still marked her.
"I won't tell. But, as far as Dawlish being kidnapped, I don't think you need to. There's no way to miss how all the Professors have been acting the last few days. It's been obvious something was up. And, with the way things are now, Death Eaters are always the first suspects. They'll know, Em. And, you didn't even see who did it. You can't put a name to them. All you know is that it was a guy who is possibly a student here. There could be a dozen guys here who are Death Eaters." Chase leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. "I'm not trying to brush this off as if it's nothing, I know it isn't. I'm just saying that you should stop tearing yourself up over this. Sure, you were there, but you didn't see enough to give them details that will help. You didn't see a face. You didn't hear a name. You don't know where they took him. Get me?"

"I'm not trying to brush this off as if it's nothing, I know it isn't. I'm just saying that you should stop tearing yourself up over this. Sure, you were there, but you didn't see enough to give them details that will help. You didn't see a face. You didn't hear a name. You don't know where they took him. Get me?"
Emily half smiled at the tender way Chase touched her face, brushing away the stray tears that had fallen over her cheeks as he spoke. It was sweet and the gesture calmed her frayed nerves somewhat, and his words somehow helped her to shake off some of that guilt she'd been feeling. Though it didn't disappear completely, it was still there, along with too many other feelings to begin listing. The guilt may be misplaced but she still felt it, she could've told someone and maybe they could have begun the search for the Professor a lot sooner.
"Don't you think I've told myself that over and over...there's nothing you could have done Em, even with what you saw there's no way it'd help in the search for him..." she sighed, running her hands through her hair she stood up from the bed and walked over to the window, crossing her arms as she looked out across the school grounds. "I just wish I could've helped him...it breaks my heart to imagine what he's going through, knowing he's out there somewhere...I mean there's a chance he's not even..." she trailed off and sighed quietly, dropping her hands to her waist and looking to the ceiling for a moment.
Rubbing her eyes she walked back over to the bed, slipping off her shoes as she sat back down in her previous spot, this time tucking her legs beneath her. "I'm just tired I guess, I haven't slept at all, to scared to I think..." she said, looking at Chase before chuckling slightly and shaking her head. Leaning forward she linked her arm with Chase's and let her forehead rest on his shoulder for a moment before pressing a kiss to his cheek and shooting him a small smile, "I think something to eat and a little time with you should help a lot though..." she said softly, really wanting to think and talk about something else. Chase was right, she knew that, she needed to stop letting what she'd seen destroy her in such a way.
Actually spending time with Chase was helping her, it was a shame she had to leave, god only knew how she'd sleep alone tonight. Leaning into him again Emily kissed Chase softly, glad they were at least back on track now...she hoped at least...

"I just wish I could've helped him...it breaks my heart to imagine what he's going through, knowing he's out there somewhere...I mean there's a chance he's not even..."
Emily had moved away from him, over to the window. He'd tried to reach out for her but she'd moved too fast, and how he just sat there, listening to her. At her comment his shook his head sharply. "Don't even think like that. Of course he's not. The guy's an Auror - they're a tough bunch. Whatever they did, and are doing to him, he's trained for it... Just don't think that way, babe. Please."
Even as he said it he knew that he couldn't fully mean those words. Sure aurors were trained to deal with people like the death eaters, but they were no more than any other person when it came down to it. Professor Dawlish was just as human as anyone. So while Chase didn't even want to consider the idea of him being dead, it was always a possibility.
Chase was about to go over to where Emily stood and wrap his arms around her waist but before he could move she was already on her way back to where he sat on his bed. He waited until she sat down again before placing one hand on her lap and smiling at her.
"I'm just tired I guess, I haven't slept at all, too scared to I think..."
She leaned her head on his shoulder, one arm linked through his. He used his free hand to run his fingers lightly through her hair, chucking softly. "It shows. And the fact you kept dozing off in class showed as much too." Emily kissed his cheek and smiled at him before she spoke again, and he smiled again, letting the hand that had been at her hair run down the side of her face again gently. "Food and a whole load of sugar."
When she leaned in to kiss him he kissed her back eagerly before grinning into the kiss. "And a whole lot more of this I hope." Without pulling away from her he moved around on the bed so that one leg was beneath him so he could reach her easier. He let one arm snake its way around her waist to keep her close while the other still hovered at her neck. He nibbled softly on her bottom lip. "I've missed being with you the last few days."
He still wanted food, but he didn't want to break the kiss just yet. He'd spent the whole weekend wondering if she would even talk to him again that now he knew he still had her, he wanted to savor her. Food could wait for just a few more minutes...

"Food and a whole load of sugar."
Emily chuckled and nodded her head, liking the idea of loads of sugar very much. Her sweet tooth was out of control and it was turning out many people now knew that...hers rivalled even Lachlan's and that was saying a lot. She sunk into the kiss, glad when he didn't pull away, "And a whole lot more of this I hope." he said, making Emily's smile widen slightly as she kissed him back, her body moulding against his as he held her closer and one of her hands slid to the back of his head, threading her fingers through his hair.
"I've missed being with you the last few days."
Sliding her hand down his neck and letting it come to rest against his Chest, Emily smiled softly. "I missed you too..." she said softly, nipping at his bottom lip playfully before her fingers grabbed the front of his shirt and she lay back, pulling him with her as she did. There was no denying she was still hungry but she was enjoying their closeness at the moment and was reluctant to part with it just yet. Leaning up she pressed her lips against his again, negleting to remember she was in fact in his dorm where anyone could walk in. Not like they were doing anything, but again it wasn't to be a fun time if someone walked in anyhow.
Breaking the kiss some several minutes later, she smiled up at Chase, "So you and Lachlan...you guys are okay yeah?" she asked lightly, biting down on her lip as her fingers toyed with the top button of his shirt, which she'd unconciously opened at some point during the last few minutes. Unable to ignore the knawing hunger in her stomach she shifted beneath Chase, "Time to eat..." she said smiling, leaning up to kiss him again before moving to sit up. Shooting a smile down at Chase, Emily shifted to her knees and reached for one of the baskets.

Chase easily move with her when she started to lean backwards, crawling up her body, not breaking their kiss. He kept the majority of his weight off her while still keeping in close contact with her, legs wrapping around with hers. She was trapped under his body and he grinned into the kiss, glad of the closeness between them. He'd worried far too much the last few days about whether he'd ever get to be this close to her again that he didn't want to break the contact between them.
Several long minutes passed when they did nothing but kiss, tongues dancing, but not raging in a battle for control. Their kisses were slow and steady and paced. It was nice.
Chase really hoped that the rest of his roommates took a long time at dinner tonight... He was really enjoying being alone with Emily, and while he was sure she'd be equally as happy if Lachie was there with them, Chase was feeling selfish and just wanted her all to himself.
When they broke apart from the kiss Emily asked him about Lachie and Chase grinned down at her. "We're fine, babe. We talked on Friday night before anyone else got back. Well, I also came bearing a bucket load of sweets as way of apology, but hey, it worked." He grinned and stuck his tongue out at her.
Emily had been fiddling with the top button on his shirt while he spoke, but she shifted after he'd answers. Yeah, it was definitely time for food. He kissed her back before pushing up to his knees, reaching for the other basket and dragging it closer. He peeked in. Ice cream. That could wait. He pushed it away again and looked back, watching Emily with the other basket.
He thought back to what he'd just said about bringing sweets as an apology to Lachie and it reminded him of the whole reason he'd been passing her those notes in class anyway. He'd been meaning to explain everything to her but it had been forgotten about underneath everything that she'd had to say. Well, he'd remembered now.
When some of the food was dished out between them, Chase moved so he was sitting cross legged on his bed facing Emily. "About those notes... what I had been wanted to tell you was that... that it was me who spiked the punch. It just didn't go quite as planned since I ended up spiked by another drink but... yeah. I didn't realize how strong it was either until it spiked me through him drinking it..." Chase shuddered. He couldn't even say any words that related to him and Lachie kissing the other night. Sure they'd moved past it all, but the images still scarred.
Chase laughed awkwardly. "I know some of the comments even made it sound like it had happened before - from what I remember of them, but I swear to God it hasn't. We went into Hogwarts the other weekend. After you got back from Mungo's... There were a few jokes made after we fell over outside but, nothing like that."
It probably didn't even matter, but at least he'd said what he'd originally set out to say and it was all out in the open.

"We're fine, babe. We talked on Friday night before anyone else got back. Well, I also came bearing a bucket load of sweets as way of apology, but hey, it worked."
Emily laughed lightly and nodded her head as she sat up, pulling the basket towards her. "Well Lachie's like me in that way, sweets make everything better..." she said, as they dished out the food between them. It wasn't a healthy addiction but who cared, chocolate and sweets were simply way too good to give up, despite any urging from her parents, who insisted that one day she was going to lose all of her teeth. Until that happened she was going to be a very happy girl.
As Chase spoke Emily picked up the first thing on her plate and popped it into her mouth whilst listening to him. Strangely the news that he had spiked the punch didn't surprise her so much, he'd more than likely learned his lesson so she didn't feel the need to berate him for that. Getting publicly humiliated like he had was probably bad enough, and she doubted she'd helped matters by slapping him. Her eyes flickered to his cheek before she looked back down to her plate, suddenly feeling guilty for lashing out like that.
"What's done is done...it's over now...we're past it...you've more than paid for what happened...though if I have to listen to any snide comments from Elena Haworth again, I won't be responsible for my actions." she sighed, shaking her head. That girl had had it in for her for years and Emily severely disliked her, "Can't tell you how glad I am you and Lachie aren't in here getting hot and busy when I'm not around...a girl worries...especially considering how close you to are..." she joked, laughing ever so slightly as she flicked a chip at Chase's head.
Tucking her hair back behind her ears, Emily reached down and unbuttoned her cardigan, shrugging it off her shoulders and tossing it down beside her bag. Loosening her tie, she unbuttoned the top of her shirt before picking something from her plate and popping it into her mouth sighing in satisfaction, "Tastes so good...gotta love the house elves..." she sighed, shaking her head. Looking up at Chase she smiled slightly, "So any chance I can interest you in a trip to Hogsmeade with lil' ol' me this weekend? Or you got plans with Lachie and Trent?" she asked, figuring if he did there was always some extra studying she could do.
