Her family raised her to be a proper young lady and Andromeda fits that description perfectly. From the way she dresses to her hair and make-up, everything is in place. When it comes to clothing style, Andromeda prefers to look nice, often wearing dress casual clothing. She isn't one to go without some form of make-up, though she tends to keep it more on that natural side of things, finding that too much makes her feel like a clown. Like many of the Black family, well except for her younger sister, Andromeda has dark brown hair that at times can appear to be almost black in color. It has a natural wave to it and luckily for her she doesn't have to actually do much to it. She prefers to keep it down though Andromeda has been known to wear it up in order to keep it out of her way.in-depth appearance:
While her skin is rather pale most of the time, there are a few rare occasions that Andromeda manages to sport a tan. Of course, this also comes with freckles and over the years a dusting of them have appeared on her nose and cheeks. In contrast with her dark hair and light skin, Andy has blue, almond shaped eyes that are surrounded by long, dark lashes. Standing at five feet and six inches, Andromeda is little taller than most girls her age. While she may not play any actual sports, she does enjoy ballet and as a result has a lean body frame.

Ask most people to pick a word to describe Andromeda Black just from appearance and many would choose the word cold. While it may not be completely correct, it is certainly the feeling she gives off. In actuality she is just a very guarded person, holding her thoughts in and keeping them silent. For her, it is a safety mechanism since she is well aware that not everyone in her house, nay even her family, agree with her on some stand points and therefore it is best to remain silent. It goes hand in hand with the conflicted feeling that has been growing inside her over time. For most of her life, Andromeda has been praised for being the dutiful daughter. She rarely argued with her parents, having learned at a young age that to speak back to her mother and father or raise her voice to them was unacceptable. But lately, that has all changed. She finds herself unable to hold back from questioning her families reasoning and she is starting to find that she doesn't fully agree with it either. Andy wants to be a good daughter, a good sister, but as the days go on she finds herself struggling with the future they've laid out before her.in-depth personality:
It may seem weird to list this as a personality trait, especially with all the flaws that she has, but Andromeda is extremely loyal to those that she care about. While she may not agree with her family about certain things or another, that is beside the point entirely. They are still her family and she will do whatever is in her power to help them and keep them safe. Her sisters mean the world to her and the mere thought of loosing them terrifies her. To go along with this, there is also the loving and caring side of Andromeda that few have seen and fewer have experienced. Most just see her as another arrogant Black but beneath that is someone completely different. Her family members are some of the lucky ones to have seen this part of Andromeda that she does her best to hide around others.
Her pride is one of her many flaws. While it may be hard to explain to most, to herself even, she does feel some pride in being a Black. She doesn’t like to show weakness or vulnerability of any kind and admitting defeat isn’t even a possibility. Andromeda has an even more difficult time admitting that she was wrong and as a result it is a rare event that one will hear her apologize, though it has been known to happen in extreme cases. Having been raised in a wealthy, Pureblood family, Andromeda was taught from a young age that she is better than most and while she doesn’t really agree with the treatment of Muggleborns, there is a part of her that some would consider a blood-snob. It should be stressed that it isn’t the same as the feeling that Bellatrix has towards those who are muggle born. Instead, Andy thinks that Purebloods have a greater advantage coming from a magical background. She grew up knowing what she was and what she could do, of knowing about the magical community around her. No one had to come to house and explain that she was a witch.
If there is one thing that is certain, it is that Andromeda is an extremely confident person. It is something that is obvious in every look, every move that Andromeda makes. She walks with her head held high and her back straight, sure of every step she takes. It is an appearance that has been known to make others feels as if she is looking down at them. It should also be noted that few things happen around her that she doesn’t pick up on. Indeed, Andromeda is very perceptive. There are few people who seem to pick up on the things the way that Andromeda does and most people don't even know just how much she actually sees. She isn't one to comment on these things unless she feels the need to, instead letting the person think that their little tells are still a secret. It is one of the reasons why she is so good at poker and bluffing in general.
She is a Slytherin after all and like any Slytherin, Andromeda is very cunning and will do and use whatever is in her power to get what she wants. There few things that can stop her and those that get in way would find it wise to back down quickly. Ever since she was child Andromeda has been rather ambitious. She wants things in life, for her life to have some meaning beyond marring a pureblood and giving him pureblood children. Of course she knows that this is unlikely to happen but it doesn't stop her from trying and hoping that she might be able to break the family tradition and not be blasted off the family tree at the same time.

Andromeda Cecilia Black was welcomed into the world on July 8th to Cygnus and Druella Black. Her birth was a simple one, Andromeda being delivered precisely on her due date and the labor process only taking four hours total. A year later, when Andromeda was one and Bellatrix around two, Druella gave birth to the families third and final daughter, Narcissa. At the time, Andromeda herself was too young to fully understand things, not that she would have minded if she had been old enough to anyway.in depth history:
While the Black’s didn’t spoil their daughters per say, they certainly made sure that the three girls never wanted for things. Andromeda grew up having nice clothes and toys but along with that came the tutors and the expectations. She was taught from a young age about her family history, that to be a Black was something to be proud of and like any young child she believed what she was told. It didn’t help matters that she had no real connection to anything or anyone outside of her family. As she grew, Andromeda learned to star gaze and even to this day she can still point out every single constellation that a Black family member was or has been named after.
To Andromeda, her sisters were everything. She was extremely close to the two girls, having had no other friends for the majority of her life. When Bellatrix first went off the Hogwarts, Andromeda felt a mixture of excitement and sadness though it certainly helped that she had Narcissa to fall back on, as well as her cousins Sirius and Regulus. The year that Bellatrix was at Hogwarts seemed to pass slowly to Andromeda, though this may have been because soon it would be time for her to join her older sister at the school.
The Hogwarts letter came on her eleventh birthday and while there was some excitement that Andromeda couldn’t hide, there had never been a thought that she would be denied entrance. That year she said goodbye to Narcissa and her parents and boarded the Hogwarts Express with Bellatrix.
Like many of her fellow first years, Andromeda felt some uneasiness at the sorting ceremony. She knew how her family would react if she were to be placed in any house that wasn’t Slytherin. Of course she kept her doubts and fears on the inside, barely letting the emotions portray on her face. When her name was called she approached the chair and the Hat with her head held high. Once placed on her head, the Sorting Hat took longer than she would have liked before yelling out Slytherin and with a smile finally lighting up her face, Andromeda hopped down off the chair and went to join her sister.
Her first year at Hogwarts proved to be rather uneventful, aside from the typical first year experience. She managed to get stuck on a moving staircase as well as finding herself lost a few times on the way to her classes but other than that everything was going fine. Her group of friends was very small and she suspected it had something to do with others either thinking she was uncaring or that she reminded them too much of Bellatrix. Not that this really bothered her. Andromeda was fine with her friends.
Second year was a little more exciting because Narcissa was finally joining them. Like most of the Black’s before her, Narcissa was sorted in Slytherin and one again the three were back together again. This year also came with the addition of Andromeda’s favorite cousin, Sirius, and while the whole family was shocked at Sirius being placed in Gryffindor, this did not stop Andy from being close with him.

roleplay sample: In all the years that she had been at Hogwarts, Andromeda could count on one hand just how many times she had been to the west tower, also known as the owlery. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the owls, she found them to be intelligent creatures even if they did have a nasty habit of biting at one’s fingers. No, what made her avoid the place was the mess that always seemed to be there, no matter what times of day or year. Having come from a wealthy family, Andromeda found that she liked things clean. There had always been house elves around who made sure that not a single speck of dust remained on the furniture and kept things in order. Even with out them, she kept her part of the dorm room spotless and organized, which was more than she could say for some of dorm mates.
Standing in the doorway that led into the tower, Andromeda hesitated. She really didn’t want to go in there and she was beginning to think that she should have just given her mail to Bella or Cissy to send home. That was what she had done in the past and part of her wondered what had made her decide that she herself would to it now. Her eyes roamed over the floor, noticing not only the dirt tracked in by other students but also, and more concerning, the amount of bird droppings. Her eyes then moved to her shoes, her nice, clean, spotless shoes and she let out a sigh of annoyance. She really didn’t want to muck up her shoes, or have a bird dropping land on her hair. As if to reassure herself, Andromeda reached a hand up to run over her dark hair, glad to find it still dropping free.
Second began to tick by, slowly turning into minutes and still Andromeda stayed where she was. She was extremely glad that no one was around to witness this since it would certainly lower her image. Andromeda; from the noble and pure house of Black, afraid to enter the West Tower for fear of bird droppings. Realizing that at any moment someone could come by and question what she was doing, Andromeda took a deep breath and went a few steps inside the tower. There, that wasn’t so hard. Now all she had to do was to find the family owl, send her letter home, and then be gone from this place; possibly to take another shower.
Her eyes focused on the ground, Andromeda took a few more steps, dancing around the droppings while constantly fearing more would fall. It didn’t take long to find the family owl, though this mostly had to do with it coming down to great her and she hastily gave it the message and a treat before it took off. Having achieved her task, Andromeda went to turn and leave when she felt her right boot slip a little. With a gasp, she looked down to find that she had missed a dropping and had managed to not only step in it, but also somehow smear it on the side of her shoe. With a gasp, she quickly pulled out her want and muttered a cleaning spell, relief settling over her when the spot disappeared. With her shoes not once again clean, Andromeda began to trace her steps back to the door.
