AND IN THE END , the love you make is equal to the love you take . What was the point of having free periods in the middle of the day? Marley couldn't help but wonder what kind of idiot had put a double free on her timetable in the early afternoon! She still had classes to attend after the free period, and it wasn't even a break over lunchtime. It was just a bunch of dead hours sitting in the middle of the day.
She kicked at the grass under her feet as she made her way around the side of the lake. The only class she had homework for was Arithmancy - and she'd already completed all twelve questions at breakfast that morning. So here she was, in the middle of the day, with absolutely nothing to do.
The weather outside looked so warm and inviting. The sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in sight - perfect weather to go for a swim in the lake. But, unfortunately, two third year kids tried to go swimming in the lake the week before and ended up being booted out by the Giant Squid. Nothing to be proud of, there.
There was an old-looking willow tree towards the westerly side of the lake that looked like a good spot. Deciding that that was where she wanted to read her book, Marley set off at a fast-paced walk towards the old willow. The only problem was, someone was already sitting in her seat.
"Dorcas!" Marley exclaimed, excited to see her cousin. "What are you doing out here?"

he glowering girl traipsed across the fields in a surly manner. And why shouldn't she? This morning had been an utter disaster. She had slopped gravy on her uniform, and was late to potions because of it. Luckily, for her, Slughorn would do anything to be on her good side. After all she was from a good family, amongst the top of her class, and beautiful to boot. Even the fact that she got away with what could easily get another student detention did not cheer Dorcas up. She was determined to be in a sour mood for the rest of the day, and if anyone stood in her way they were likely to be hexed. After the rest of her morning classes were finished in a fuming manner, Dorcas decided she needed to be alone. Sometimes even being looked at didn't cheer her up, though not frequently. Dorcas loved to be admired, it was why she spent so much time on her appearance, training her red blonde hair to bounce in a flirty manner, framing her perfectly made up face. Even when she was forced into a uniform she made it work, pulling on ankle socks in the morning to show off her slender legs. Once she reached her destination, a willow tree that she frequented when she wanted peace and isolation, Dorcas sat down, resting her torso against the strong trunk of the tree and scooping her knees into her arms. Her steely gray eyes gazed out onto the lake, catching a suctioned limb of the giant squid grazing the surface on the lazy end of the summer day. She was finally calming down. There was something about the familiarity of the magical creature that made her lips squeeze out a quick grin. Minutes later, when she was humming a lyric she had made up to remember the ingredients to a Wit-Sharpening Potion, she heard grass crunching underfoot. Looking up she saw a familiar face, a welcomed friend, her cousin Marlene McKnnon. Since she was a child Dorcas would tell every problem to Marley whenever there was anything wrong. Marley always knew if she was lying, even to herself. " Cooling off," she responded to her cousin's question. " I haven't been have the best of days." Dorcas patted the grass next to her, invitation her cousin to have a seat. She noticed the book in the girl's hand. She wouldn't mind just sitting next to her while she read, though she really wanted to talk instead.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● i am still the hide and seek champion ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●words 413 ● outfit linkage ● tag marlene mckinnon

AND IN THE END , the love you make is equal to the love you take . Dorcas patted the patch of grass next to her and Marlene sat down immediately, keen to catch up with her best friend and cousin. She pursed her lips as she spoke, noticing a big stain on the front of Dorcas' robes. "I can see." She looked up at Dorcas with her bright blue eyes "Is everything okay?"
It wasn't hard to tell that Dorcas wasn't in the best of moods. Her body language, for one, set the mood well enough, but the sound of Dorcas' voice told Marlene that she should stay and listen. Almost without thinking, Marley scrambled around in her bag to make room for the book she was carrying. She was hardly going to need this for the afternoon. Afterall, she hadn't seen her cousin for a while and was keen to catch up, no matter what kind of mood she was in. Marley could only hope that she would make Dorcas' day better somehow.
"Have you got a free line, too?" Marley asked, leaning back on her hands and letting the warm sunlight do it's trick. "Or was it the bad morning? I can completely understand if it was a bad morning." Afterall, she'd had a bad morning two days ago when she'd slept through her alarm, and consequently Defence Against the Dark Arts as well.
