|I LOVE YOU RED SOLO CUP I LIFT YOU UP| |proceed to party proceed to party| Gwen had been excited for this party for weeks, and she was even more excited for this party now that she knew that Dorcas would be going with her. It had taken a lot of convincing to get her friend to join her for this, but she was going to prove that it was totally worth it.
Dorc has clearly been weary about skipping out on class a couple of Fridays back to go to a party with Gwen, and so telling her that the next party would involved sneaking away from Hogsmeade during their weekend out and not catching the coaches back? That had taken a little bit of extra sweet talking. It was pretty clear to Gwen that Dorcas wanted to get out a party a bit, it just seemed to be the initial 'breaking the rules' part that was taking a bit of over coming for her rather goody two-shoes friend. But, Gwen was set on her path of corruption of her friend and long time room mate.
Tugging her hand, Gwen bounced excitedly on the spot and tried to steer Dorcas off in the direction of the party when she finally found her in the village after several hours of just enjoying the festive cheer. "Come on! Come on! It's going to be great. As soon as you get down there you're going to completely forget the rules and all that. Come on - you're going to love it."
Gwen couldn't wait to get down there and party. They held partied like this there several times a year and they were always awesome. Especially ones when the weather was warming up and there wasn't too much of a breeze. Today had actually turned out to be a day with truly fantastic weather. The sun had been shining, there was hardly cloud. For an April day in Scotland, it had been pretty damn amazing weather. Weather, which Gwen had certainly dressed for.
"Come onnnn, Dorc." Gwen pulled on her friend's hand again and grinned as she steered them towards the narrow dirt track that would lead them into the valley, and into the magical lagoon, as they liked to call it, where the party was being held. "They have a barbecue that's probably up and going right now, so it's food first, then drink. That way you're not drinking on an empty stomach, and you know what that means? You can drink more and not get drunk so fast."
Gwen stopped and turned, pulling Dorcas into a hug. "Just trust me. Tonight will be amazing. You wont regret it."

Dorcas was looking forward to tonight. Sort of. It worried her a little that she was missing curfew and going to be potentially spending all night away from the school but it excited her that the taste of alcohol she'd had with Gwen a few weekends ago was just the start of a new Dorcas, a fun, quidditch playing Dorcas Meadowes. She just needed to get on her house team and she'd have exactly what she wanted. School would be perfect for her.
Right at this moment Gwen was being dragged through Hogsmeade, being dragged through to the path that lead to a little dirt road. Dorcas had never been out this way before so she was trusting that Gwen knew what she was doing and where she was going.
"Okay! Okay! I'm hurrying!" She said as she ran. Butterflies fluttered around in Dorcas' stomach as they had the first night she'd gone out with Gwen. It was a whole new experience and she was going to have a great time, she just knew it. Heck maybe she'd even meet a guy! Make out with him for one night! Dorcas giggle a little to herself. She wasn't the sort of girl to do that, she wasn't a kiss and tell type, she was waiting, holding out for her first boyfriend, a guy she liked a lot before she started doing anything, she knew she probably wasn't going to be with her boyfriend for the rest of her life, she wasn't a complete and utter dreamer but it was something important to Dorcas that her first real kiss be with someone she thought worthy, someone that was kind to her, a romantic sort preferably.
"Okay, so lots of carbs." Dorcas stopped suddenly as Gwen hugged her. Was she about to be a virgin sacrifice or something? She wasn't dressed correctly to be a virgin sacrifice to the gods. She was wearing something she'd found in her friend's wardrobes. They didn't mind, Dorcas had nothing good to wear so they all sort of liked to help her out. They'd probably all be there and the ones that wouldn't weren't the sort to tattle but back to her hug with Gwen, was this some sort of good bye hug? Dorcas highly doubted it but she hugged her friend back in returned and grinned excitedly, bouncing a little.
"Tonight is going to be fab!" Dorcas had indulged with the alcohol the friday night she'd partied with Gwen. She'd gotten drunk. At least she thought she was drunk, she was mostly a sort of hyper that she'd never been before, with a bit of dizzy thrown in. She had a feeling she was a little loud but she hadn't been aware of it all night, just towards the end.
"Let's get going! I want to get eating so I can have a couple of drinks and get the party really started!" Dorcas giggled at the thought of her being a party animal! It was thrilling! She'd never had such a thrill like this! The adrenaline rush was intense and it only fuelled Dorcas' want to party and rule break!

|I LOVE YOU RED SOLO CUP I LIFT YOU UP| |proceed to party proceed to party| Gwen spun around and hugged Dorcas tight, glad to see that she was bouncy and excited too. Gwen couldn't help but let out a small squeal. "Only a couple, chicka?"
Gwen reached for her hand and tugged, pulling her with her towards the party again. "You had it easy the last time and you hardly tried anything. There'll be so much to chose from tonight! You might even find a new favorite drink." If Gwen had anything to do with it, Dorcas would be even more hyper and drunk that she was when they'd gone out on that Friday, and Gwen was going to get her to try as many different drinks as they could find, just so that Dorcas got the full alcohol/party experience... Maybe she'd see what guys were there and see if she couldn't find someone to give Dorcas a taste of the real party life... Dorc could do with a nice kiss or two, she thought.
"Let's go, go, go!" Well, even if Dorcas didn't want to drink loads and flirt and maybe snog a guy or two, Gwen certainly did and she wasn't going to miss out on all the great fun of this party.

Dorcas laughed. A couple wasn't really what she was planning on. Well sort of but not exactly. She'd have a few and get tipsy and then see what she'd feel like, if she'd want more or to just stay at the level she was comfortable with. She'd only ever gotten drunk once and that too was with Gwen. All though that was only a warm up apparently. Tonight was supposed to be much bigger, much better and a heck of a lot more drinking, though Dorcas was getting nervous. Excited still, but nervous. The closer they got to the party, the more she wondered if she'd fit in.
Dorcas hugged her friend. Gweny just made everything more exciting! Dorcas' fears flooded over her but she hid them well as the thought of a good time clouded her mind. There was going to be nothing to fear. Gwen was going to look after her, she knew it. "A couple to start with then I'll increase my intake!" Dorcas grinned. "There's no point breaking rules if you're not going to break them properly!" Said the near saint-like student.
Dorcas bit her bottom lip in excitement. All he new flovours were going to be insane. She was going to have to try so many drinks tonight and quite frankly not all alcohol was nice. Most of it burned and some seemed like it did nothing and then bam! It hit you like a ton of troll dung. Still, it was going to be an exciting night.
"Just as long as you look after me and make sure I don't do anything too regrettable! I don't wanna wake up in the morning in some guys bed, I'm not that sort of girl!" It was true, Dorcas wasn't that sort of girl and she didn't ever plan on being like that. She hadn't even kissed a guy before, things in her life had always been about studying, her friends and that was pretty much it, this was a whole new aspect and next year she was going to strive to be on the Quidditch team for Ravenclaw, she didn't need to be keeping up with guys as well, that would just be too much.
The party was getting louder and Dorcas was sure they'd be there soon. She gave Gwen's hand an excited albeit nervous squeeze. "Eeeeeeee! Let's do this!" she squealed excitedly. Tonight was going to be the best night of her life, if only she could get rid of those few nervous butterflies she was trying to ignore. Drink and her adrenaline would probably take care of those pesky little feelings in no time.

|I LOVE YOU RED SOLO CUP I LIFT YOU UP| |proceed to party proceed to party| "A couple to start with then I'll increase my intake! There's no point breaking rules if you're not going to break them properly!"
"That's my girly!" It was blatantly obvious that Dorcas was feeling a little, okay scratch that, a lot nervous, about tonight, but there was an unmissable level on energy underneath all of that, and Gwen just knew that Dorc was up for this, no matter what she be feeling right now. Gwen had every intention of making this the best damn party that Dorcas had ever been to!
"Don't worry, babe. I won't let you get carried off by a drunken prince charming." She grinned, jumping about excitedly on the spot before continuing on towards the party. She could hear it getting louder, just proof that they were almost there. The closer they got, the more Gwen became aware of Dorcas's growing excitement.
"To the barbi!" Gwen grabbed her friend's hand and pulled her with her into a run down towards where the smoke from the barbecue was rising. The smell hit her nostrils and she breathed in deeply. "Food first, then drink." She pointed towards a table of drinks not far away from them.
********************
They'd been drinking for quite a while and Gwen knew that despite constantly pushing drinks into Dorcas's hand, she was still the drunker of the two. She needed to ease off the drink or Dorc would be the one carrying her back to the castle, not the other way around. They'd danced a bit, laughed a bit, talked to people a bit... They were basically just having a good night. There was something missing though - boys. Sure Dorcas didn't want to wake up in some random guys bed, but that didn't mean she couldn't play a little game of kiss and tell tonight, did it?
Running a hand through her messed up hair, Gwen flung her other arm around her friend's shoulder. "I gotta peeeeee! I'll be back in a few. Don't have to much fun without meee!" Now... to find a suitable bush...

Dorcas was having a great time. All her cares had been washed away as she drank with food and then drank with more drink. The party was amazing and she watched as so many things happened! There were drinking contests, drinking games, dancing, socialising and prank pulling every now and then. Dorcas loved this sort of thing, this was going to be her sort of thing from now on, if she could fit it into her schedule every now and then. She needed to have fun after all.
There were no signs at all of the party dying down, it really did look as though the thing was going to go on all night and Dorcas was having just the best time with Gwen. She'd been dancing and drinking, chatting away and drinking, dancing some more and of course, drinking some more. The time came when Gwen needed to take herself off to the little girls bush.
"All righty, but don't get lost and scream as loud as you can if ya do or, ya know, send sparks, but scream first, not sure I trust ya to do any sort of magic right now." Dorcas watched Gwen head of. She was a true friend. A drunk true friend but a true friend none the less. She'd been looking out for Dorcas all night and now it was time for Dorcas to sort of look after herself for a little while as well as keeping an ear out for a drunken scream from amongst the bushes. Dorcas just hoped Gwen didn't try peeing in a bush that had a couple hidden in it. Peeing on a couple that were trying to make out wouldn't be the funnest aspect of the night, though quite a story to tell in the morning.
Dorcas headed towards the drinks table, dancing her way over to the beat of the music she grabbed a drink and turned around to look out across the beach. Tonight was fun, she'd been talking to all sorts of people and she had an air of confidence she didn't usually hold. Admittedly she was a little clumsier than usual but she brushed it off, a stumble here, a bit of miscommunication there was nothing when you had the ability to talk your way out of it or laugh it off. Nothing made people like you more than confidence and alcohol was literally liquid confidence in a bottle. Or it was, it was now liquid confidence coursing through her veins and making everything seem a heck of a lot more fun. Any doubt she'd had about this evening was now gone, the night was perfect for Dorcas though a few more drinks wasn't going to hurt, she had some catching up to do.

Wade had spend most of the night just drifting from crowd to crowd, a little conversation here, a little conversation there. He didn't actually know why he'd let himself be persuaded to come here at all, because there was definitely a lot of other stuff that he should probably be getting on with back up at the castle. Such as studying, and homework. But, he'd been convinced to believe that one night couldn't hurt. Now he wasn't so sure. It was an alright night, but there was nothing particularly spectacular about it. If he'd missed it, he definitely wouldn't have cared.
Sighing, Wade excused himself from the group of drunken guys he'd been talking to and headed across to the drinks table to get another drink. He usually wasn't much of a drinker, but he was making a bit of an exception tonight, just because he had nothing better to do really. Actually, he was probably just going to grab a drink and have a slow walk back up towards the school. He didn't really see the point in hanging around any longer.
At the table, Wade spotted a dark haired girl with a drink in her hand, watching the crowd and bobbing along to the music. He was pretty sure he recognized her from around the common room, but he couldn't quite be sure. He definitely didn't know her name, he knew that much.
He smiled as he approached and leaned past her to pick up a cup from the table, taking a sip of it, before turning around and leaning back against the table next to her. Why though, he wasn't sure. "Fun night?" Might as well make small talk and kill a bit of time right, and then he could just head back to the school after he'd finished this drink.

Dorcas thought nothing much of the guy that approached the drinks table, she'd seen plenty of guys tonight and pretty much every single one of them had been interested in Gwen so Dorcas hadn't really paid any of them attention, she just let her eyes glaze over as she thought about other things, things like enjoying herself with her friend who could have had any guy she wanted.
Gwen was the blonde party girl that guys loved, she was smart, fun and feisty what guy wouldn't like a girl like that? Dorcas was a little awkward, no way near as drunk and new to this whole partying thing, she felt pretty comfortable when she was around Gwen because she had a friend she could fall back on when she was near but now that she was gone Dorcas felt a little of her confidence slip away. And that was a cue for another mouthful of something strangely bitter.
The guy reached past Dorcas and she looked at him a bit closer. Jeez, couldn't he have gone around a bit more? She then realised that he was in her house, that he was a seventh year. She was pretty sure she knew his name too, Wayne maybe, or Will. It was definitely a 'W' name for her fellow eagle. Dorcas took another sip of her drink just as he asked about her night. Well not so much asked but proposed two words that kind of sounded like her was asking if she was having a fun night. Which she was.
"Mmm, it has been quite a night so far. Plenty of drink and lots of fun to be had. How 'bout you? How's your night been?" she asked, figuring it would only be polite and he seemed like an okay guy. She looked him over out the corner of her eye whilst trying to act as though she was looking at the masses enjoying themselves. He was tall and kindda cute. A lot cute actually. Though it could have been the alcohol that had her thinking that. Maybe it wasn't though, maybe she did actually think he was cute. She couldn't ever remember thinking he was cute when she'd seen him in the common room but then again she'd never really looked at him properly but right now, the way the bonfire flames lit up his face ... well there was something quite appealing about him right now, especially the way he leant against the table next to her, holding his drink. He was a cutie but then realisation hit Dorcas, when Gwen came back he'd probably be all over her. A little bit of jealousy stirred in Dorcas even though she shouldn't have been jealous of her friend who'd only been the best to her, especially tonight.

"Mmm, it has been quite a night so far. Plenty of drink and lots of fun to be had. How 'bout you? How's your night been?"
Wade leaned against the table next to her looking over the crowd in much the same way that she had been. "It's been alright. I'm not much of a partier though." Understatement, probably. He pretty much just didn't care about parties and stuff like this. This was a one off for him. He knew he should be focusing on his studies and everything, but his friend had told him that he couldn't leave the school in the summer without going to this bonfire thing at least once. And he'd agreed to it.
Wade took a glance over the girl beside him. She was really pretty. Dressed up, but not over the top like a lot of the girls here seemed to be. There were a lot of them here that just seemed to scream easy, and that just didn't appeal at all. He'd tried to avoid the groups of girls like that tonight. This girl though? This girl didn't have that same act or look like they did. She just seemed like she was here for a good time, nothing more.
"I'm Wade." He held out his hand to her, realized he still had hold of the cup, and in the process of passing the cup to his other hand somehow managed to spill it straight down the front of him. "Oh, sh..." Wade sighed and kicked the empty cup away. "Brilliant." He had to laugh though, purely because it was the better of the option he had right then. He looked to the girl next to him. "If anyone says anything, you're my witness. I didn't wet myself, I spilled my drink." He grinned.

Not much of a partier? Dorcas quirked her brow and looked at Wade directly. "Not much of a partier? What you doing out here on a night like this? Girlfriend drag you out I suppose?" She asked in a sort of innocent way, she just wanted to know if perhaps a little bit of possible flirting miiight be allowed, if he had a girlfriend then she would probably exchange pleasantries and then head off on her merry way, she didn't want to have some crazy woman screaming her ear off and pulling at her hair. It had taken Dorcas' room mates a while to get her hair looking like this! Usually Dorcas only had two styles, up and down.
Dorcas smiled as Wade introduced himself to her only to have to jump back a split second later as he spilled his drink all down his front. Dorcas laughed with him softly so as not to sound as though she were mocking him in any sort of way. "I dunno, what's in it for me? Maybe I saw you spill a drink, maybe I didn't" Dorcas cocked an eyebrow and surveyed Wade. Even with drink down his front he still looked adorable. If only Gwen had been here to witness that, it was pretty funny.
Dorcas' thoughts shifted to Gwen's whereabouts. She should have been back by now or at least on her way. Dorcas figured she hadn't heard any screaming or seen any sparks so Gwen was probably fine, but Dorcas was only going to give it another minute before sending out a search party for her dear friend, though maybe she'd keep Wade hidden. Dorcas wasn't sure why she wanted to do that, she just felt as though it might be a little necessary, she kind of wanted to get to know Wade on her own before he fell in love with her friend, as he inevitably would like pretty much every guy in the castle, but who could blame them? Gwen was a stunner!

Wade made a noise that sounded a little too much like a scoff for his liking. "Hardly, I just have some very annoying roommates who believe it's a sin to leave school without coming to this party at least once." That and they'd practically dragged him along the path from Hogsmeade a few hours earlier. There was definitely no girlfriend involved that was for sure. Though he could always wish.
Wade closed his eyes for a brief second and sighed as the cup slipped from his hands and spilled down his front, then he forced himself to laugh at the situation. The girl laughed softly along with him. He couldn't help but grin at her response. So she had a sense of humor, too? Wade wracked his brains for something good to say back. "A drink. On me. Free of charge." He turned quickly and grabbed two more cups off the table behind them and held one towards her with a grin and a wink. "So do I have an alibi?"
This girl was really easy to talk to for some reason, and he couldn't help but want to stay here and talk to her more. Screw going up to the school just yet. Wade held his drink in his left hand and extended his right towards her. "Let's try this again - I'm Wade."

Yay! Dorcas' mind was cheering, very loudly. She hoped Wade wasn't good at reading minds, or even able to attempt it because her thoughts were so loud right now she'd probably give him a headache, but yay! No girlfriend dragging him out for the night was a good sign. Party loving dorm mates was also another good sign because they'd probably encourage him talking to a girl, right? Sure! Why the heck not! she told herself.
"Well I'm glad they convinced you to come along. I have a feeling the night's just getting started." She said, watching as more wood was added to the bonfire. She had no idea how late it was. Could have been three in the morning for all she knew but she knew things weren't dying down just yet, there was still more partying to be done and Dorcas was looking forward to it. This was the life for her.
Dorcas laughed and took the drink Wade offered and a little thrill ran through her as he winked, gosh he was just mm-mm-mmmm! She took a sip, narrowed her eye on the drink and then grinned at Wade. "I believe you do." She said, taking another sip of the 'free' drink. Being Wade's witness would be an easy task because she was sure no one would be looking at his crotch plus it was probably going to get harder to see as it dried.
Dorcas took Wade's hand and shook it gently. She wasn't much of a handshaker and had never actually shaken someone's hand before now. This was a first for the brunette. "It's a pleasure to meet you Wade, I'm Dorcas." She looked down at his crotch. "Do you wanna dry off over by the fire?" She asked, looking back up at him. She didn't want to stare down there for too long and make him feel uncomfortable. Heck she didn't want to feel uncomfortable staring at some guys crotch! Merlin knew what Gwen might say about that!

"Well I'm glad they convinced you to come along. I have a feeling the night's just getting started."
"I was thinking of just heading back up to the school. Like said, I'm not much of a partier." That, and he was getting fed up of rowdiness of the drunker partygoers tonight, some of his friends included. Some of them just didn't make good drunks, that much as clear. Part of him wanted to just stay here, but then, she was probably just waiting for someone... probably a boyfriend. "Who are you here with?"
Wade sipped at his drink, wincing at the strong taste of alcohol in his. It seemed to be a lot stronger than any other drink he'd had tonight. He couldn't help but grin a bit - at least she was a girl with a decent sense of humor. He offered a hand, managing to get through an introduction without dropping his drink. Dorcas... He let the name play over in his mind for a few seconds. It was a nice name. Unusual, but definitely nice. And definitely one he could get used to saying, if he ever got the chance, but he was probably getting ahead of himself there. This girl was gorgeous, he didn't stand a chance.
"Fire sounds good, though it means more people greater brightness, so you better stick close. I'm going to need that alibi now." He grinned, trying not to think about where she'd just been looking. Why was he reading more into something that simple than he should?
He headed over in the direction of the bonfire and glanced over at Dorcas. "So... do you go out often?"

Dorcas pouted at Wade and nudged him in the arm gently with her elbow. "Yeah, but now your night's livened up a bit with some pretty amazing company, aren't you gonna stay a bit longer?" Dorcas' pout turned to a grin and she shrugged her shoulders. "But you know, I guess I can't keep you here so I guess I'm going to have to come up with some pretty great conversation."
When Wade asked who Dorcas was here with she looked about. "I'm here with a friend, she went off a couple minutes ago but she should be back pretty soon. She's a party animal, everyone absolutely adores her! I reckon you'll love her too, she's impossible to hate." Dorcas could never say anything bad about Gwen, she was amazing and pretty darn perfect, though when she arrived Dorcas was betting Wade would be all over her and forget all about Dorcas. Never mind, Dorcas didn't need a guy that would just ditch heart the first gorgeous blonde to pass by, though Gwen was pretty spectacular.
Dorcas watched the fire and listened to Wade. He seemed pretty cool and was very easy to get on with. He had to have a girlfriend, no way a sweet guy like this was single. "I wouldn't dream of ditching you while you're in need of an alibi. I am witness to the heinous crime of drink pouring on a young, innocent man. What kind of girl would I be if I just stood by and did nothing?" Dorcas grinned and took a sip of her drink as they started walking over towards the bonfire.
"No, this is only my second time being rebellious. Usually I like to keep to the school grounds at least but the friend I'm out with tonight." Dorcas took a deep breath, sucking in the air. Well let's just say she's a bad influence on my but a very good friend." Dorcas loved Gwen and was still keeping an eye out for her friend. 30 more seconds and she was really going to have to look for her.

Wade grinned. "Well, if great conversation is on offer, phwar! How ever could I refuse that?" He laughed, still grinning. She was a right character, wasn't she? Stunning and had a sense of humor?
Wade had to wonder who this amazing friend was, but he'd be really surprised if she was anywhere near as pretty as the girl he was in front of him right now. What was with him anyway? He came over here to get a drink and within 2 minutes he was already swooning over some girl he'd just met. This wasn't like him. "I take it you're expecting her back soon then." And when she did come back, what then? Surely Dorcas would go back to her friend. Just because he couldn't help but look at her didn't mean that the feeling was returned, so he couldn't really expect anything, could he?
They headed towards the fire and Wade found himself grinning again at her comment. Definitely a stunner with a sense of humor. Smart too, it seemed. They stopped in the warm glow of the flames.
"Ah, so.. how long ago was your first act of rebellion?" He'd never really been the type to go sneaking out on a hundred nights on the town or anything, that just really wasn't... him.
He stared into the fire and took a sip of his drink. His gaze drifted to Dorcas out of the corner of his eye. He secretly hoped that her friend, whoever it was, didn't come back quite yet so he could talk to her a little longer.
