FLYING A CAR ?
WE'RE ONLY TWELVE YEARS OLD
FULL NAME: Severus Tobias Snape.
NICKNAMES: The Half-Blood Prince (secret), Snivellus, Snivelly, Sev (Lily's name for him).
AGE: Fifteen years old, January 9th.
YEAR: Fifth year.
HOUSE: Slytherin.
CODE WORD: [Removed by Admin]
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT WE HAVEN'T CRASHED YET
IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
FACE CLAIM: Connor Oberst.
EYE COLOUR: Black.
HAIR COLOUR: Black.
HEIGHT: 5'9.
WEIGHT: 138 pounds.
APPEARANCE: Severus is small for a guy his age. The over-sized clothing that he wears makes him seem even smaller, like a little boy in his father's clothing. He walks with his shoulders slouched, as if hoping that no one will see him, and a 'twitchy' sort of gait that can only be understood by watching him walk. His greasy hair is long (although he wouldn't mind a haircut every once in a while) and since he cuts his hair himself, its length isn't uniform. His eyes, like his hair, are black, but not completely devoid of emotion. Severus has a rather long, hooked nose and pale skin that makes him look perpetually malnourished. He has a deep voice for a fifteen year old but it's hardly ever heard, and when it is, it's so soft that no one can tell. His teeth are crooked and have a hint of yellow stain, most times hidden by very thin lips twisted into a scowl. Basically, to sum up his appearance in one word, it would be unkempt.
Severus doesn't have much of a wardrobe so he tends to wear his school robes much of the time. He owns one or two pairs of black slacks, one rather old pair of black shoes, two white collared t-shirts, one green and silver tie, and one gray sweater. If the weather is too warm for robes, he'll opt to wear his uniform. If, by some chance, he is wearing something else other than his uniform or robes on the weekend, it is bound to be a t-shirt and a pair of holey jeans with a pair of old trainers. As poor as he is, it's difficult to buy new clothing (which is something the Marauders pick on him the most for) but he makes do with the little that he owns. He saves the little money that he has for special occasions.
WE CRASHED IT RIGHT INTO THE WHOMPING WILLOW
WHAT A WAY TO ARRIVE
LIKES: Defense Against the Dark Arts, creating spells, Lord Voldemort and his ideals, sarcasm, finding intelligent ways of insulting others.
DISLIKES: The Marauders, receiving bad marks, Muggles, his father, Gryffindors, being embarrassed.
BOGGART: Severus' biggest fear is that Lily will fall for James and the two will become a couple. He knows for a fact that James has feelings for Lily but, so far as Severus knows, she feels nothing in return.
His Boggart shows Lily and 'that Potter git' standing together. Their mouths are moving but Severus can't hear anything they're saying. Suddenly, Lily puts her hand on James' chest. He tips her head back and kisses her. When the Riddikulus charm is cast, Lily turns into Pettigrew and James opens his eyes to see a male.
MIRROR OF ERISED: If Severus had the chance to look into the Mirror of Erised, he would see himself with Lilly on his arm. The Marauders would not exist.
PATRONUS: Doe.
PERSONALITY: To sum Severus up in one word, one would probably use the word 'cautious'. He is extremely suspicious of everyone, wondering what they're going to say or even do to him. His social skills are horrible, so making friends is difficult for him. He's cold and sarcastic, hiding much of his emotion so that others don't see how badly he aches inside. If he's hurt, he'll lash out, leaving the other person a victim of swift spellwork. Severus doesn't always acknowledge when people are kind to him because he confuses kindness with pity, and he hates to be pitied. He tries not to get close to anyone, not even to his new Death Eater friends. The only person he's ever trusted is Lily Evans and he'll do anything to get back into her good books. Drifting away from her is killing him inside.
Severus is full of rage that can be directed toward anyone at any time. This rage is compressed into snide remarks and sarcastic retorts. He's gotten his share of knocks for his smart mouth but it hasn't stopped him yet. If he's got something to say, he'll say it, regardless of whether you like the answer or not. Severus' fuse is long but once you set off his temper, he'll raise his voice from its normal volume to at least three times that. Odds are, spells and curses will come along with that and all of that pent-up rage will come spitting out at you like poison. Sometimes, in cases where he can't yell and hex, he lowers his voice to a cool and collected (yet still pretty terrifying) level. Severus is capable of being kind and happy but everything that makes him that way is slowly dropping off, and he's begun to alienate himself more and more from the people around him. The only company that he keeps anymore are his Death Eater buddies and Lilly, when she can stand to be near him.
Once Severus has reason to dislike a person, he'll carry a grudge forever. Small things don't bother him as badly (say, if someone tries to copy his test questions), he'll just ignore them like he does everyone else. Larger things, however, such as constant bullying, he'll never forget and will do what he can to get revenge. It's true that he can be civil to these people but that's where the subtle sarcasm makes its appearance and he never misses a chance to goad them into action. Severus also has a trait that is worrisome: he enjoys picking on those weaker than himself. Not animals, but people. There aren't many people that fit this description so he stoops to the level of first, second, and third years. They aren't yet old enough to fight back and it gives him a surprising feeling of power.
Not every trait of Severus' is bad. He is extremely loyal to those he loves, and swears to always be there for Lily Evans (who is possibly the only person he's ever loved romantically). His emotional strength is extraordinary, seen in how he still follows Lily like a lost puppy even though she's never shown any interest in him. He does not rely on others to do things for him -- if he wants something done, he'll do it himself to make sure it's done correctly -- and when needed, his manners are of a gentleman. Severus knows that deep inside, he's brave, but has never had the opportunity to show it. Modesty is one of his greatest policies, and even though he can do high-level magic, he can't admit it to anyone. Even when he tells himself, he feels as if he is too prideful and downplays his abilities.

CURRENT RESIDENCE: Spinners' End. Currently Hogwarts.
HISTORY: The world has made Severus a cold person. His parents constantly fought and (whether they knew it or not) neglected him, leaving him alone at an early age. Beginning at the age of six, he tried his hardest to stay away from his home during the day, since his father worked the night shift and would always be there. He would sit at the park from sunup to sundown, dreading the moment the sun slipped over the horizon because then he would have to go back to Spinner's End.
The day he met Lily Evans was the best day of his life. She hadn't worried about the old clothes he was wearing, she'd just come right up to him and introduced herself. The two were extremely close throughout their childhoods, Severus explaining the wonders of Hogwarts to her and staying out as late as they dared because she knew he didn't want to go home. Severus could tell that Lily didn't feel for him in the same way that he felt for her but he had hopes for the future. Petunia, Lily's sister, absolutely loathed him. The feeling was mutual but he was civil to her because she was Lily's sister and best friend. When the time came for Hogwarts letters, Severus and Lily received theirs but no letter came for Petunia. This created an estrangement between the sisters who had been so close, and Lily begged for Petunia to write a letter to the Headmaster to see if there was any way Petunia could come along as well. It wasn't something Severus would admit but he was hoping that the Headmaster declined Lily's sister. He wanted her all to himself, his best friend, and Petunia just got in the way. One day, perhaps, Lily would see that he was perfect for her. The Headmaster responded with a polite no, and this was the last straw for Petunia, who cut off Lily completely.
School was Severus' release. He hated Spinner's End, and now he was on a new adventure with Lily. Granted, he did earn himself a few enemies such as the Marauders but Lily stood by his side defiantly. When he was Sorted into Slytherin and she into Gryffindor, they saw much less of each other but still they were friends. Over the years, she had come to his aid when he was bothered by the Marauders. James always seemed like he'd had a crush on her and that was most of the reason why Severus disliked him so deeply. He never admitted that real reason to Lily: she was under the impression that it was simply that Severus was an easy target for bullies.
Lord Voldemort came to power and recruited members for his group, the Death Eaters. At first, it was just adult members, but Severus was secretly interested. Lily hated Voldemort and everything he stood for because she was a Muggle-born, one of those that he was against, so he kept it a secret from her. He found other Slytherins who were interested in Lord Voldemort's regime and began to hang out with them more often. Lily tries to warn him about the people he was choosing to hang out with, saying that they weren't the type he should be around, but he ignores her. This is a way for him to finally fit in, a way to gain power and prestige. Maybe this is the key to Lily's heart.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: Severus had always wondered where Remus Lupin went every full moon. It was rather suspicious that he and the others slipped away every month for a night without anyone else noticing. True, it was strange that Severus of all people should realize this about someone he hardly knew, but he was itching to get one of them in serious trouble. The Marauders had always tormented him and he was always looking for a way to get one up on them. This was the perfect way to do it, he decided.
For some reason, Severus had questioned the Marauders themselves about the situation, which was stupid on his part. He wasn't likely to get an answer, plus he'd put himself in harm's way every time he'd asked, but it had become an obsession and it was difficult for him to even sleep at night until he found out the real reason. It wasn't any of his business and to an outsider, he'd seem crazed with obtaining the knowledge. They haven't dealt with being treated like rubbish for five years. No one understands. Perhaps if I can get Remus expelled, the rest of them will finally leave me alone. His thinking was flawed. This plan was doomed from the start but Severus just couldn't let it go. These boys had caused him so much pain and embarrassment -- this was the very least he could do to them.
Sirius Black approached him outside of Potions class one afternoon. Severus instinctively drew his wand, ready for the attack that was sure to come. "Hey, you can put that away. I've got something you'll want to hear before you go hexing anyone," Sirius said, but Severus didn't move. This wouldn't have been the first time he'd been ambushed by them after being lulled into a false sense of security and he was determined that it wouldn't happen again. "Suit yourself," Sirius said as the last of the students passed him, leaving the corridor quite empty. "I know you're curious about where Lupin goes at night. If you follow him to the Whomping Willow next full moon, you'll be able to figure out what he's doing." With that, Sirius turned and walked down the hallway. Severus was stunned. Why would he tell me that? I've been asking for weeks now with no answer. That's definitely strange. After mulling the encounter over for a few moments, he put the thought out of his mind. Since when had he ever had cause to trust Sirius?
A week passed. The full moon was approaching, and Severus' anxiety was rising. He'd been battling the obsessive thoughts that had grown tenfold since his conversation with Sirius but to no avail. By the end of dinner that night, Severus had made up his mind: he was going to follow Lupin to the Whomping Willow. Nothing that horrible could be going on down there. An hour after nightfall, Severus crept out of the dungeon dormitories and made his way upstairs, then out the front doors. The crisp night breeze blew his hair into his eyes and he tucked it behind his ears. He walked to the giant tree, his footsteps muffled by the grass. His hand was at his side, resting on the handle of his wand, just in case Sirius had lied and had something bad in store for him. The Willow came into view but still there was nothing.
The tree sensed his presence and began to swing its heavy limbs menacingly. Severus levitated a nearby stick to send hurtling at the knob on the trunk of the tree and once it connected, the tree fell still. His heart beating quickly, he walked to the opening and stooped to go inside. Severus tried to keep his breathing calm but that was a moot point, because seconds later, he saw the form of an awful, hairy beast up ahead and he stopped dead. What is that thing? That must be Lupin! Black, you bloody... I could be killed right now! Suddenly, hands came from behind him -- one to grip his shoulder and keep him from going any further and the other clasped firmly over Severus' mouth. From what he could tell, it was a man and for a moment, Severus wondered if it was Sirius, come back to rescue him from a horrid fate. The man dragged him out of the passageway and onto the lawn, far away from the entrance. The tree had begun swinging its branches again but his savior had moved him out of the tree's reach.
"Are you bloody mad? Sirius told me that he'd finally given you the answer to your question. Thought it was a good laugh. I didn't think you'd actually come down here!" James was whispering, possibly to keep the beast from hearing him and possibly because none of them were supposed to be out that late, but Severus was having none of James' explanations. "Your friend tried to kill me for nothing more than a laugh, Potter! I could have died tonight. I'm sure that you didn't save me out of the kindness of your heart. You had to save all your friends from getting in trouble. I'm going straight to Professor Dumbledore, this is ridiculous," Severus panted, a scowl on his face as he made to stalk away. "Honestly... could have died... absurd... werewolf... Dumbledore... I'll show them."
"I'm sorry Severus, but Mr. Potter did save your life. I believe you've got a life debt to him. I'll see to it that Mr. Black receives more than a week's detention, and you must promise me that you will say nothing to anyone about what you've witnessed tonight. Mr. Lupin would be appreciative, although I must speak for him since he's currently not in his right state of mind. Thank you," Professor Dumbledore said, and Severus mumbled a sheepish, "All right, Professor. I'll say nothing." By the Headmaster's tone, he understood himself to be dismissed and went back to his dormitory in the dungeons. As he lay in his four-poster bed, he recounted just how close he'd come to losing his life (or at the very least, his humanity). I wonder if Lily would have even cared, he thought morosely, then closed his eyes and attempted to get some sleep.
