Marlene was careful to be as quiet as possible as she sat up in her bed that night. She slowly managed to push her blonde hair out of her eyes, trying to adjust her eyes to the darkness that surrounded the dorm room. She checked the clock that was lying on the table next to her bunk. 11:12. Perfect, she was right on schedule. It had become a trained habit of hers to wake herself up at certain times when she needed to. A secret habit of sorts; one that came in handy for nights like these. She smiled to herself and threw the covers off, abandoning the idea of being quiet. She was much too excited.
She looked down, making sure that she was still in what she remembered going to sleep in; sometimes she couldn’t quite be sure. She grinned to herself, seeing the sort dress and heels on her feet still. She reached onto her bedside table and picked up the pair of bunny ears that were sitting there. They were attached to a headband that fit neatly against her head. Her eyes hit the mirror that was on her side-table and she picked it up, admiring her reflection in the glassy surface. Her hair had managed to retain most of the curl that it had earlier and her makeup looked perfect. That’s what happened when you learned protective spells, she thought. She straightened the bunny ears slightly and then tiptoed to the other side of the room.
Emily Prescott was sleeping soundly in her bed; a sight that made Marlene almost burst out laughing. The girl was curled around her blanket like a small child, ”Fitting-”
[/b] Marly whispered into the darkness and then started tapping her foot. Emily was such a goodie-two-shoes sometimes, but that was why Doe loved her. Em was the yin to her yang and always kept her sane. Well...at least slightly sane. More sane than she was normally. Or at least that’s what she thought. How long would it take Em to realize that she was standing here waiting for her? How long would it take for her to wake up? Marlene was not a particularly patient being, nor was she prepared to wait for a long time for her best friend to wake up. There was too much to do tonight and not enough time as it was already. Doe had something crazy planned for the pair of them; one that was going to be full of everything that Emily hated: Danger, spontaneity, smoking, drinking possibly male strippers...Marly wasn’t even sure that she had it all planned right, but she was pretty good about flying by the seat of her pants. She leaned against the bed post for a moment and pulled a cigarette out of the small pocket that was in the side of her skirt. She lit it with ease and took a slow drag in. She held the smoke in her lungs for a few moments before exhaling a smoke-O. Then she laughed slightly. For such a bad habit, smoking was rather entertaining when it needed to be. With one swift arm movement, she bent down and ripped Em’s sheet off of her bed, leaving her friend exposed in her pajamas, ”Rise and shine, Em!”[/b] She practically yelled. She knew that the other Gryffindor girls wouldn’t wake up; they were all too heavy sleepers. Plus, Marlene had dosed their pumpkin juice at dinner with a bit of sleeping draught. She didn’t feel bad about it - they had kept her up countless times gibber-jabbering away about their latest conquests, ”Emily Marie Prescott, you get up right now.”[/b] Marlene said and shook the girl’s back, forcing her no choice but to wake up, ”I’ve got something crazy planned for this evening.”[/b] She placed the cigarette in her mouth and then exhaled on Em’s face, knowing full-well how she felt about Doe’s smoking habit. OOC: It doesn’t look like it belongs in this location as of yet, but it will :] don’t worry![/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

”Rise and shine, Em! Emily Marie Prescott, you get up right now.”
Emily felt the cool hit her before she was shocked awake by the surprise yell. The added shaking, made the blonde wake up with a gasp, a frown on her face as she tried to quickly blink through the sleepiness for the source of her rude awakening. "Marlene..." her voice was thick with sleep as she spotted her friend stood, fully dressed beside her bed, with a cigarette lit as well. When her friend blew the smoke in her face, Emily coughed and wafted her hand in front of her face, sitting up and frowning at the other girl again, "What are you doing? You know you shouldn't be smoking in the dorms." she reprimanded, hiding a yawn behind her hands, wondering why her friend had sneaked into the fifth year dorm room, and again why none of the others had woken up.
Her eyes drifted to the clock on her bedside table and they widened ever so slightly in surprise. Looking back at Marlene she gaped at the other girl, now fully taking in what the other girl was wearing, a dress, heels, and bunny ears? "Sweetie have you seen the time...what are you doing up, dressed as well...oh wait..." she sighed, shaking her head and looking at her friend, arching her eyebrow, "Are you sneaking out again, Marlene? It's almost midnight your insane..." she said, nodding her head as she finished talking, unable to stop laughing softly as she looked away from Marlene.
The girl had always had an aura about her that Emily could only wish she possessed. Sure, as of late she become slightly more willing to bend the rules, thanks to Chase, but she'd never gone as far as Marlene. She secretly admired her friend, but did her best to keep the other blonde grounded. Marlene wasn't much for studies but Emily did her best to help where she could, being the huge bookworm she was. A frown settled it's way onto her face as something Marlene said came back to her and she looked at the other girl sharply, her fingers tugging the blankets back over her short clad legs, fending off the cold.
"I know I'm going to regret saying this, but why wake me up...and what do you mean exactly by crazy?" she asked, biting down on her lip. Marlene was always trying to persuade Emily to go out with her on one of her wild nights out and the blonde suddenly had the feeling that tonight was going to be one of the times. Though she couldn't deny the idea of sneaking out, breaking the rules, seeing how Marlene in fact did celebrate her nights out was thrilling, though the studious, good girl side of her was arguing that she should just stick to her guns and refuse point blank to go out with Marlene again.

Marlene sat on the edge of her bed and took the lit cigarette out of her mouth so that she was able to retaliate, ”Of course I know that I’m not supposed to smoke in the dorms. Why do you think I do it, love? Just to piss the bloody prefects off. They hate not knowing where the little trails of ashes come from.”
[/b] She said with a laugh and leaned slightly back so that she was leaning against the bed post at the end of Emily’s bed. She let the cancer stick hand lazily in her hand, dropping a few ashes onto the floor to prove her point. In the morning, one of the stuck up Prefects would come rolling into the 6th year dorm and demanding to know why she had been smoking again. Ah well, she would deal with it when it came time. ”It is approximately 11:15, and I am not sneaking out-”[/b] Marlene said as she grinned wickedly. She loved Emily to death, but the girl was such a stickler for rules sometimes. She swore she was going to break her of that before the night was over. Abandon those inhibitions and just...live a little. Emily was laughing though, which meant that she wasn’t entirely mad that Doe had just woken her up for a nightly escapade. Marlene leaned forward and tapped on Emily’s nose, ”I woke you up because you’re coming with me.”[/b] She said with a raised eyebrow and then took another drag on her cigarette, ”Hold this.”[/b] She said as she handed it over to Emily, ”You can smoke it if you’d like.”[/b] She shrugged and then stood up, crossing to Emily’s trunk so that she could assess the clothing situation. Doe threw open the top of the trunk and began pulling clothes out. Dress. Cardigan. Dress. Cardigan, ”Prescott...you dress like a 50s housewife.”[/b] She rolled her eyes as she pulled out another dress that was slightly above the knee. Alright, that was a little better, she supposed. Hopeless. She finally decided as she took a step back from the trunk. Emily didn’t have anything in here that was suitable for what Marlene had cooked up for the night. She bit down on her lip, slightly torn on what to do, ”I’ll be right back. Don’t you go do sleep now, darlin.”[/b] Doe said as she narrowed her eyes at the other Gryffindor. She ran - as fast as one could run in platform heels - back to the 6th year dorm and opened up her own trunk. She pulled out one of the shorter dresses that was lying on top and then dug around a bit for a pair of heels. She settled for a lower pair than hers, knowing that Emily would at least appreciate the effort she was going to to make her more comfortable. She closed her trunk quietly and then hustled back toward the 5th year dorm. ”Here you go, lovie. Those are for you.”[/b] She said and threw the clothes on the bed. She plucked the ciggy from Emily’s hand and stuck in back in her mouth, ”As for what I mean by crazy-”[/b] Her eyes flashed with excitement. She had a most interesting evening planned. One that involved a couple of fake IDs that she had stolen from some Muggles, a Muggle bar and strip club, and a bachlorette party that was...well it was apparently in honor of Emily Prescott. She grinned wickedly, knowing that Emily was going to hate her after this night.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Emily let her eyes follow the ashes Marlene dropped on to the floor beside her bed, and fought the urge to scowl and instead reminded her to clean the mess in the morning or when Marlene left, the last thing she wanted was for Lily to think it was her that was smoking. At her friends wicked smile she laughed and shook her head, "Okay your not sneaking but your planning on leaving....what?!" she exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth with both her hands and looking over her dorm mates to make sure she hadn't woken any of them up. Satisfied that they were still asleep she turned back to Marlene, making sure to lower her voice.
"Doe I'm not coming out...it's a school night." she said, the excuse sounding lame even as she said it. She begrudgingly took hold of the cigarette Marlene held out to her and pulled a face, holding the small white stick away from her as her, eyeing it as though it was the most horrible thing ever, before she looked across to Marlene. "I think I'll pass...I got enough of it before..." she said, shooting a mock glare at the other blonde, reminding her of the smoke she'd blown into Emily's face only a few minutes before. Her eyes drifted to her dorm mates again, worried in case they awoke before a frown settled on her face and she looked back to Marlene.
"I'll have you know know Missy there's nothing wrong with my clothes." she argued, jutting her bottom lip out in a small pout as she watched the blonde continue to rifle through her selection of clothes. Emily had a lot of nice dresses, though if she was honest there weren't too many that went above the knee. Though again she'd never heard any complaints from her boy-friend who always managed to make her feel like the most gorgeous thing in the room. Shaking thoughts of Chase from her mind she looked at Marlene, her eyes widening as her friend declared she'd be right back and hurried from the room.
Emily threw her bed sheets aside and made a move to stand up, she really couldn't believe any of this was happening. Was she just a little bit excited at the prospect of escaping the school for the night, she sure was but she was also incredibly worried. Though she decided she was going to go, what was the worst that could happen? Anyway her curiosity was getting the better of her. It made her sick to think about what would happen if they were caught at all. Before she could stand though from the bed, Marlene came hurrying back into the room, throwing a dress and a pair of heels onto the bed beside Emily, before taking the ciggy back off her. "Doe I cannot wear that..." she said, standing up from the bed, and holding up the dress that was sure to barely touch her mid-thigh.
Looking at Marlene she laughed quietly and shook her head, "Your smile is doing nothing to calm my nerves here, in fact it's getting me worried." she said holding the dress against her body and looking down. Marlene always did own the most beautiful of clothes, Emily just wasn't brave enough to wear half of them, including this dress. The heels she had no problem with after all she'd worn higher ones than that on her first date with Chase, but the dress, she'd be showing off more leg than she ever had before and she wasn't too sure how she felt about that.

Marlene burst into laughter. Emily was in serious denial if she thought that she was going to get out of sneaking out with her. This was a joint deal - all or nothing - either Emily came with her or she didn’t go at all, ”You can stop worrying about waking them up,”
[/b] She said, gesturing around to the sleeping 5th years. Her eyes landed on Lily Evans. She had been rather reluctant to drink her pumpkin juice at dinner, but after a little persuading, she had caved. She smiled to herself and then looked back at Emily who was covering her mouth, ”I laced their drinks at dinner with some sleeping draught. They’ll be out until morning-”[/b] She paused, unsure just how much she had put in. Potions was never her strong suit, ”Or they might be out until the morning after...I’m awful at Potions.”[/b] She knew that Emily was going to hate that she had put her entire year into an un-wakable sleep. ’It’s a school night.’Bollox, Em had her at an impasse there. There was nothing she could say to make it not a school night. Doe searched her brain for a reason that Emily would want to go out the night before she had classes, but she was coming up blank, ”I swear to Merlin, if you don’t come out with me, I will burn all of your school books into ash piles like this point.”[/b] Her foot slid into the cigarette ashes and pushed them around a little bit. She winked, letting Emily know that she was only joking. She knew how much schoolwork meant to her friend. As she returned to the room, she was still smiling slightly, ”You’re right, Em. There’s nothing wrong with your clothes-”[/b] She put her finger to her lip, ”If you’re alright with being stuck in the kitchen all day. Now is the time for feminine liberation! Show a little skin. Chase’ll appreciate it.”[/b] She threw the last park in there just to make her best friend blush. She thought her relationship with Chase was cute, something Doe had never had in her life and wasn’t sure that she wanted, but cute for Em, ”You can wear it and you will.”[/b] She said as she pulled on the hem of the dress that Emily was holding up to herself. It was definitely short, that was for sure. But Emily would look amazing in it, after all, Doe did, and they were practically the same build and stature, ”Plus, you haven’t even seen the back yet.”[/b] She took the dress from Emily’s hands and turned it around so that she could see the scoop back that didn’t stop until it fell all the way to the middle of the dress, sure to show off more of her figure than Emily was comfortable with. She spun around in a tight circle to show off the way that the dress sparkled, then she threw it back to her, ”You’re always saying how much you like my clothes, love. Now’s your chance to wear them,”[/b] She raised an eyebrow. ‘Your smile is doing nothing to calm my nerves here, in fact it’s getting me worried.’As for the growing smile on her face, Marly couldn’t help it. She was very excited about what she had put together for the night and she was sure that once Emily got over the initial shock of the whole thing, she would be just as excited as well, ”Nerves are good! Nerves mean adrenaline. And adrenaline means you’ll be a live wire tonight,”[/b] She said as she stifled a yawn. She wasn’t possibly tired yet, the night was still young! She let the cigarette sit idly in her hand for little while as she thought. ”Now, will you hurry up and put on the bloody dress? I don’t have all day. I told them we’d be there by midnight.”[/b] She said, not bothering to explain who they were. It would be much more fun if Emily was caught off guard by the entire situation. She leaned down to check the clock; they still had a good deal of time before they would have to actually head out, but if Emily kept stalling like she was now, they would never make it. ”If you’re alright with being stuck in the kitchen all day. Now is the time for feminine liberation! Show a little skin. Chase’ll appreciate it.”
Emily rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to pout. Her clothes weren't that bad, at least she though she looked pretty in them, Emily had after all always taken great care in picking out her clothes. She loved anything that made her feel girly, beautiful and modest all that the same time. "Chase already see's enough skin as it is, that is not the problem here..." she muttered, her cheeks flushing red at the reaction she knew she'd undoubtedly get from her boy-friend if he saw her in something like this. Again that small sneaky smile worked it's way onto her face and she looked back at Marlene as the other girl took the dress from her and turned it around to show her the very deep scoop that came to about midway down the dress. She pulled a face, but couldn't fend off another smile when Marlene spun around. It was a beautiful dress. But could she wear it...?
”You’re always saying how much you like my clothes, love. Now’s your chance to wear them, Nerves are good! Nerves mean adrenaline. And adrenaline means you’ll be a live wire tonight,”
The way Marlene raised her eyebrow felt like a challenge to Emily and as always she was drawn in. She snatched the dress back from Marlene and shot her a smile, feeling no shame in quickly climbing out of her oh so comfortable pj's and slipping the dress on over her head, pulling it down properly. She felt the cold on the exposed skin of her back and sighed quietly, this was so not her at all it was going to take a little getting used to. She ran a brush through her blonde locks, thankful her hair was the kind that never really needed much styling. "Just...I don't know...I don't want to do anything stupid tonight..." she said, biting down on her bottom lip, chuckling when she remembered how much a certain Hufflepuff had warned her not to do that.
Adding a quick bit of lip gloss she turned back to Marlene and smiled softly, the adrenaline pumping through her body already at the prospect of leaving the school. With Marlene, god knows what the night was going to hold and that terrified her, she didn't want to do anything stupid. "Okay, I'm ready boss." she said softly, straightening up when she'd slipped her heels on and grabbed a small bag from her trunk. An enchanted bag at that which she slipped her wand inside of. After the recent months and what she'd suffered through with the attack in the forest, in which her and Lachlan had been attacked and subjected to a beating and the Cruciatus curse, she never went anywhere unprepared any more, she never wanted to experience that kind of torture again, not if she could help it. "Lead the way." she said with a smile, her fate tonight was in Marlene's hands.

‘Just...I don’t know...I don’t want to do anything stupid tonight...’
Marly laughed and then put her hand over her mouth to silence herself. She didn’t want to get into any trouble with Emily tonight and laughing at the girl’s regard for her boyfriend’s wishes probably wasn’t what she should be doing if she wanted to stay out of the dog-house. Her laughter still spilled over a little when she moved her hand, but she chose to ignore it, instead of acknowledging the fact. She hadn’t known that Chase Conners cared so much. It was adorable, really, the pair of them. Marly was a big Chaemi supporter, but she never really let on to that fact. She didn’t want people knowing that she believed that relationships could last at Hogwarts, ”Don’t worry. Stupid isn’t on the agenda,”
[/b] She paused and then grinned wickedly, more laughter escaping from her mouth, ”Reckless perhaps, but never stupid,”[/b] She managed to calm herself down long enough to say. She watched her friend with interest as she stuffed her wand into her bag. Marly rarely carried her wand, she liked to do a lot of things without magic, but Emily seemed a bit different. Doe frowned slightly and looked up at her, ”Don’t worry, Em. I’ll bring you back in one piece.”[/b] She assured her best friend and grabbed her hand. With a quick tug, she pulled her out of the room and began her descent down the staircase toward the common room. With the entire 5th year knocked out by her sleeping draught. And the other Prefects having eaten droobles that were coated with more enchanted sleeping powder she had stollen from Slughorn, there was little to nothing to worry about in the Gryffindor Common room. And so, as Marly pulled Emily toward the backside of the portrait of the fat lady, she yammered incessantly, ”You’re going to love what I’ve got planned for tonight. Plenty of drinking and smoking. Perhaps a few surprises if you’re lucky and-”[/b] The portrait swung open and Marlene stepped through backwards, her eyes still trained on Emily’s. She dropped her voice a tiny bit because she knew it was more likely that someone was patrolling the halls tonight, ”Gayle, Jolie, and Summer said that they would meet us-”[/b] She paused, realizing that Emily had no idea who Gayle, Jolie, or Summer were. Her brain was on standstill for a moment as she worked out the details. Gayle and Jolie were French witches that she had met a couple of summers ago during her trip to France with her brother. They went to Beauxbatons. And Summer was their muggle friend...who knew a lot more about magic than she should. Both her parents were half-bloods. It was a shame that she never got the gene passed to her. They were good fun, and they were simply props for tonights performance. Marlene had staged an entire bachlorette party in honor of Miss Emily Prescott soon to be Mrs. Wasted. She laughed at her own little joke. Marlene had charmed the owner of a small bar toward the end of Hogsmeade into allowing the five years to have a party in honor of their ‘soon-to-be-bride.’ ”Anyway-”[/b] She didn’t even bother to explain the girl’s names she had thrown out there randomly, instead she kept walking, tugging Emily behind her. Thye had arrived at the entrance hall in record time with minimal disturbances and Marlene had her hand on the door to the grounds. That’s when she saw the shadow. Around the corner she could see the shadow of someone lurking, possibly a Professor on Patrol. Marlene felt a rush of excitement and pushed Em to the side of the corridor, neatly lodging her between a shelf and a statue. She pressed her finger to her lips to demand silence from her. There was a sound of clicking heels against the tiled ground, leading Marlene to confirm her suspicion that it was a Professor who was on night watch. Doe could feel her heartbeat in her chest, thumping away faster than who knows what. Luckily the footsteps were headed in the other direction. ”Close one.”[/b] She muttered as she pulled the door open and stepped into the fresh night air.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

“Reckless is worse than stupid Marly...just keep me out of trouble please...” she pleaded with her friend when her laughter had subsided a little bit. Seeing Marly’s eye on her wand, Emily shrugged her shoulders, thinking it would have been obvious why she felt the need to carry it. “I’m not taking any chances...made that mistake once.” she said quietly, shaking her head and forcing the memory of the forest out and away from her mind.
She let Marly lead her from the dorm room, listening in amusement as the other blonde yammered on. It was obvious how excited she was about tonight and it only served to increase Emily’s curiosity about what she had planned. Knowing Marly it was something wild, fun and hopefully not...out of control. “Well the drinking I can get on board with but no smoking for me...you know I don’t like it.” she reminded Marly with a smile. Even drunk she doubted her feelings on smoking would change at all.
,”Gayle, Jolie, and Summer said that they would meet us-”
Emily frowned, not recognizing the names at all. If they were at Hogwart’s then she would have known them she thought, so who where they and how did Marly know them? Then again, Marly was so much more out-going than Emily and went out all the time so it made sense she knew people Emily didn’t. She allowed Marly to continue tugging her along, laughing softly when her friend brushed off the explanation of the people they were meeting. That laughter though quickly died in her throat when two things happened, she saw the shadow of a third person in the hallway and two, when Marly pushed her off to hide behind a statue, signalling for her to be quiet.
Great, they weren’t even out the school and already about to be caught out. Emily closed her eyes as she waited for whatever punishment came her way, though to her surprise, the clicking heels didn’t stop in front of them. Instead they continued on in the opposite direction to where Marlene and Emily were hiding. Emily released a breath she hadn’t even noticed she’d been holding and shook her head, her heart pounding against her chest. “Close one...? I almost died there...” she growled allowing her blonde friend to lead her out the doors and into the cool night air.
Sighing softly Emily shook her head but there was no denying the adrenaline she felt at almost being caught. It was freeing, liberating and a smile worked its way onto her pretty face before she laughed softly. They were walking away from the school grounds now, “I honestly don’t know how you do that all the time I thought for sure she was going to spot us.” she said to Marlene, smiling at her friend, her excitement for tonight increasing with every step they took.
