Bonding (Remus)

Remus came slowly back to consciousness like someone rising from deep in the ocean. Sound and touch and sight were all muted like he was underwater, and though he could feel Jasper trying to wake him and hear the ferret's distressed calls of his name, it felt distant and altogether unreal. That was, until he heard Ferret's name in the same sentence as the words 'towel', 'males' and 'staring'.

Remus let out a wolfish howl and went to sit up bolt upright in a flash, managing to arrest the motion halfway through to avoid throwing Jasper off of his chest. Breathing heavily, his eyes darted around the room as he grabbed his wand and searched for the other males that were ogling his girlfriend.

It was only then that he remembered the dimly seen sight of a mischievous grin on Jasper's face and realized how cunning his little friend had been. Letting out a sigh of relief, he replaced his wand in its cloak-pocket and lay back down on the bed.

Jasper gasped and tumbled back at the wolf howl. However, he didn't smell that much like a dog or wolf that he quickly calmed. Chuckling, he crawled back over to Remus.

"Hehe...Magic Remus is protective of Mama," he said, smiling widely. "Why did you fall asleep? Are you tired? Do you want to take a nap? There are lots of extra blankets? Are you going to give Mama a harness?"

He was a curious creature and so questions were to be expected. He wanted to know everything and anything. It made him happy to know things and to help teach people things too. Even if they couldn't understand him.

"I know what harness Mama really likes," Jasper told him, trying to be helpful. "I can show you if you like."

"Sorry for scaring you, little Jasper." Remus chuckled along with Jasper and turned his little friend over onto his back to scratch his tummy. "And of course I am. Aren't you protective of Mama too, you fierce little warrior-boy?" He blushed slightly, realizing that he had indeed just fainted from embarrassment alone. He'd fainted from pain before during the full moon, but never from sheer awkwardness. "And no, I'm not tired."

Remus gave an embarrassed smile, and scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I just fainted. You know how ferrets faint when they get too hot? Well sometimes people faint for other reasons too." He chuckled slightly and fingered the blankets. "And maybe later you and I can have a nap together."

As Jasper brought up the collaring business again Remus flushed a brilliant red from his ears to his neck and began spluttering and stuttering incoherently as he tried to search for a non-incriminating age-appropriate answer that he could give Jasper that would cause him to change the subject. Taking deep breaths, Remus managed to slowly get his blush back under control and restore his equilibrium.

Jasper looked at Remus, slightly concerned. He didn't quite understand what he was saying but accepted it. He nodded eargerly when Remus mentioned napping together.

"I like naps!" he told Remus. He bounced in his excitement. "I like them very, very much!"

Taking the male's silence as a yes, the little ferret dove into the box of pictures he had shown him. From the stack he pulled out a picture of a leather collar with a thin layer of sheep's wool to line the inside. The collar had a large D-ring and a matching lead that was sold separately.

"Mama gets most in heat looking at this one," Jasper told him matter-of-factly.

Remus chuckled at Jasper's excitement, letting out a soft oof as the little ferret got a little too overenthusiastic and jumped on his solar plexus. "Well that's good to know. I like naps a lot too. Mainly because of the cuddling - do you like to cuddle and snuggle?"

As Remus stared at the photo that Jasper had dragged out of the pile and pointed at, he felt like his face had caught aflame it was flushed so crimson. Breathing deeply to keep a wave of combined desire and shock from drowning him and causing him to black out again, Remus averted his eyes, focusing on the blankets as he calmed himself down.

"Well Jasper," Remus voice broke and cracked slightly, pitch wobbling with nerves, "That's - um - that's very useful to know." Searching for a change of subject, Remus' voice took on a somewhat pleading tone as he suggested: "Why don't we go do something else."

Jasper let out an excited noise, jumping on the bed. "I like cuddles! Cuddles mean warm and love and...and...love!" The little ferret moved onto Remus's chest, bouncing more. "Are we gonna snuggle with Mama too? She should be back from cleaning soon!"

Jasper pawed at Remus's throat a bit when his voice creaked. "I think you need to see a fixer Magic Remus. Your words sound funny now." At the request of doing a different activity, Jasper pushed the box of pictures back under the bed.

"Can we cuddle with Mama? Mama likes to cuddle too you know."

Remus did his best to muffle a manly squeak as Jasper continued to bounce around on his chest. The button-up shirt he was wearing today was fairly open around the neck, and Jasper's fur combined with the jumping action and the sensitivity of Remus' neck to feel extremely ticklish. "Well, that's good to know, little Jasper. After we put away your Mama's things, would you like to cuddle here with me? I may not be your Mama, but she says I'm pretty good at it."

Remus chuckled and stroked Jasper's head comfortingly as the ferret pawed at his throat. "I'm alright - no need to see the fixer. The funny-sounding words are just a thing people do sometimes." Under his breath, Remus let out a sigh of relief as Jasper pushed the pictures back under the bed.

Ferret didn't know yet that he could actually talk to Jasper, and he had a strong feeling that her walking in on the little ferret showing him her favourite pictures of collars and asking about their sex life wouldn't be the best way for her to find out.

"I do know, little Jasper. Your Mama and I both like to cuddle a lot, so that's how we first became friends, before we were mates." Remus chuckled, and shrugged slightly. "And we'll ask when she gets back, but it's up to her."

Ferret hummed, as she walked out of the bathroom in just her towel. She was in an all girl's dorm after all. There was nothing to be afraid of. Dancing slightly to the song in her head, she pushed open the door.

"Jasper, once I'm dressed I'll-oh! H-Hi Remus..."

Her boyfriend was laying on her bed and she was in just a towel. She didn't know to be terrified, embarrassed or turned on. It was leaning towards the latter through.

She blushed and tucked some hair behind her ear, biting her lip.

"Remus...if i knew you would be stopping by I would have been here waiting...dressed..."

Watching Ferret move to the song in her head and watching certain parts of her sway in time, Remus swallowed heavily as his eyes were irresistably drawn to the wet skin exposed by the towel, only tearing his eyes away to her face with difficulty. "Umm...hi? I probably should have let you know I was coming, hey..."

But as an attempt to calm himself down, watching Ferret's face worked little better, as her blush and bitten lip and the faint waft of desire that Remus could smell through the clean and unaltered scent of Ferret combined to cause him to harden in his pants.

"I wanted to surprise you, so I came up on my own." Remus gave an embarassed shrug. "I would have let you know but I'm sure my trying to contact you in the shower would have lead to an even more embarrassing situation."

Ferret chuckled lightly. "Yeah...contacting me while I'm in the shower isn't a smart idea." She looked around, trying to fiure out how all this would work as Jasper crawled on Remus, preticutally to peer and nip at her boyfriend's groan, curious by the bulge.

"Jasper no!" Swooping forward and holding up her towel with her free hand, scooped up the ferret. "I'm sorry, he is really a sweet thing...he's just never been...around an aroused man..."

The girl blushed hard, not knowing where to look and wondering how the boy was going to take that. And trying her hardest not to look at the arousal in question.

Remus joined in with Ferret's laughter, picturing the hilarious (and possibly arousing) awkwardness that could have ensued had he decided to attempt to give her a message while she was still showering - it would have made their current situation seem positively comfortable and absent of embarrassment in comparison.

As Jasper crawled and nosed around his groin, Remus tried to hold back giggles, the sensitive skin being tickled by the ferret's tiny feet even through his clothing. Unable to avoid catching a glimpse of Ferret's breasts as she moved forward to pick Jasper up and let her towel slip in the process, Remus flushed slightly and averted his eyes.

"It's totally all right - we have an understanding, young Jasper and I. I explain human things to him and tell him how handsome and clever he is and he gives me confidential information about you." Giving a sly wink Remus hid a smile, fully aware that his girlfriend would assume he was joking when he had in fact done nothing but speak the truth.

Stretching out on Ferret's bed in a way that he only realized afterwards was somewhat indecent in the way it exposed his bulge, Remus closed his eyes and smiled in his girlfriend's direction. "Feel free to get changed - I promise I won't look. You can even blindfold me if you prefer." He chuckled softly. "And if you need both hands, feel free to let me take care of Jasper. I don't mind his behaviour at all - kids will be kids, after all - it was just a little bit surprising."

Ferret smiled. It was nice he was humoring her. Humor was good. She blushed when she saw his arousal and looked up at the ceiling almost immediately. She did not want there to be an awkward situation in her dormitory if she could help it.

Still looking up at the ceiling, she placed Jasper on the bed and moved quickly to change.

"No peeking," she told him playfully. But she changed as quickly as she could. She poked him when she was finally dressed in her uniform shirt and skirt, drying her hair. "The cost is clear and safe for you to open your eyes captain."

Feeling the little ferret being placed next to him on the bed, Remus reached out and gently stroked Jasper behind the ears before picking his little friend up and placing him on his chest. Softly rubbing Jasper's stomach, Remus dooked at the ferret while he waited for Ferret to tell him he could open his eyes again.

Pulling an exaggerated mock-pout, Remus stuck out his lower lip. "Awww, but I wanted to see." He gave a cheeky grin before realizing what he'd just said and blushing furiously, the content of his and Jasper's discussion spinning through his mind along with the images of the photos the little ferret had shown him.

Dodging away from her finger as she poked at him, Remus opened his eyes and stared happily up at Ferret, struck once again by how beautiful his girlfriend was as he leaned forward and pulled her into a gentle but thorough kiss before squinting one eye and putting on a piratical frown and voice. "But I so wanted to catch sight and have cause to cry 'land ho' at your precious loot and booty."

Blushing furiously and unable to keep a straight face, Remus collapsed back against the pillow in a fit of laughter, his uncontrollable chuckles shaking Jasper around on his chest.

Ferret smiled against his kiss, blushing lightly. At his words, she paused, then began laughing.

"I can not believe you just said that!" she managed between laughter. "That is the best line I have ever heard!" She fell back on her bed, laughing so hard. Jasper jumped and looked between them, confused. Ferret finally calmed down enough to roll over and kiss his cheek.

"Now that we have the ice breaker out of the way, shall we sneak off to the kitchens? I'm starving and am looking forward to none hospital food." She began laughing again. "We could even go as pirates if you so pleased!"

As Ferret joined him in a fit of uncontrollable laughter, Remus tried as hard as he could to pull a mock-pout but was unable to hold it through the sputters of laughter that kept breaking through. The confused look on Jasper's face hardly helped matters, and Remus' sides were sore by laughing by the time he was able to regather himself and return Ferret's kiss on the cheek.

"Sneaking off to the kitchen sounds fantastic, though if we had a bit more time I'd cook for you instead." Remus gave a short chuckle at her quip about the pirate joke and grinned mischievously. "Well, since you asked..." With a quick twirl of his wand Remus was dressed as a perfect replica of Blackbeard.

Striking a fierce pose and pulling the same piratical squinty frown, Remus turned back to Ferret and Jasper. "How do I look?"
