Post details of your costumes/evening wear that you will be wearing to the Masquerade Ball. Don't forget, Venetian style dress wear is a must, and while full-face masks are not required, some form of mask is mandatory, and must not be removed till the stroke of midnight. Keep you eye on the clock!

Chase Connors: Chase is going for a more standard look with the simple black slacks, a white shirt, and a longish black robe. It's nothing fancy and it definitely doesn't stand out much, but it's enough. He's also gone for quite a simple silver mask that covers half of his face rather than a full faced one, but with a new, sleek hair style, he doesn't look very much like himself. He does have one of the Venetian style black hats with a silver trimming, but he's not too keen on it and he wants nothing more than to accidently lose it at some point in the night... Regulus Black: Regulus is adopting his house colors for the sake of the Ball. He's not about to start piling on the red just because it's valentines, and he hopes that no Slytherin in their right mind will do it either. He's going for deep greens and blacks, and a mask that his mother sent him to use. It's half mask, half hat, but it hides his identity well. Click for the maskJames Potter: Keeping it simple it a plain black mask, James's costume is more of a waistcoat and white shirt look that anything, though he intends to start the night with clip on cloak that is the shorter type which just falls to around elbow length. The thing that stands out the most is probably the red rose through on of his button holes. Ashton Leary: Once again, the Leary brother's and their pranking ways. For Halloween they wrote an idea down on a piece of paper and swapped, and Ash ended up in a womans Ghost Busters outfit. This time isn't much different, and he's been dared again to turn up in a girl's costume, and Ash isn't about to turn down a dare. As a kind of 'screw you brother' thing, he's really gone all out and even gone for open backed, just because he knows no one will expect it, even from him. see here Mask wise, he's gone for quite a big 'out there' mask that disguises him well here and even got hold of some muggle spray stuff so that his hair appears gold, rather this his usual black. Granton Cusatelli-Metzuko Granton has gone for the detailed mask, rather than a fancy costume. see here It's quite simple in red and gold, but the shape of it is what attracts him too it most. He's also not about to change the colors, as he thinks keeping the colors people least expect to see him in will keep his identity hidden for a while longer. There is also some red mixed in with the black of his costume too.

Georgina Parkinson: If you know Georgie at all then you know she's never going to play by the rules, and tonight is no different. The only thing even slightly on track is the fact she's wearing a mask, but other than that, there's nothing Venetian about it. The most notable thing is probably that the cut in the front is so low it almost reaches her belly button, and the suit-type dress only comes to mid-thigh too. She's wearing killer heels and full length gloves and basically, she looks like the b*tch she's most known for being. Leander Spicer: Leander has the same 'big hair' look that she had for Halloween, just a little less on the creep side this time - just a little. After hunting around the 2nd hand clothes shop in Hogsmeade, Leander was somehow persuaded by her roommates to buy a dress there, which was a red and black corset thing. this, but longer Also in the shop, was a selection of masks and Leander ended up buying one with quite an extravagant head piece, which on top of her already huge hair style? It looks a bit insane. this maskTay Frazier: Tay has never been a fan of big fancy dresses and the Ball is no exception. She doesn't want something huge that she's going to trip over, but she needs something long enough to hide the fact that she's wearing her comfy trainers underneath it. Not being comfortable wearing a dress and thinking she looks quite frankly ridiculous, Tay finds herself standing around quite awkwardly in a blue version of this and she finds herself tugging at the stupid puffy sleeves more than she should. Somehow, she's also ended up wearing this mask, courtesy of of Millie... Charity Burbage: Charity... the ultimate party girl. She's they type who will happily spend the entire day pampering and perfecting herself and every little detail of her costume. Although the theme is Venetian, Charity knows her dress isn't entirely fitting, but she likes it and she really wants an excuse to wear it. click hereCharity was torn between two masks. One because of the feathers on the top of it, and the second because she like the detail and thinks it's beautiful. (that, but in purple, not red)

This is Ferret's first Valentine's Day where she doesn't need to worry about someone slipping someone else a love potion to humiliate her with at the end of the night. Ferret literally just got back in time for the ball. Arriving back at the school, she learned about the ball. So, she had to rush, throwing things together. In the end, she found a cream colored gown with corset. She wears her grandmother's old necklace that was given to her by her father. The mask she wears is symbolic, showing she has nothing more to hide. If she actually goes is another story. She and Remus might just stay in.

Dorcas L. Meadowes^ hair and make-up ^ It's no secret that Dorcas enjoys attention and with this dress having a modern day twist to the theme she feels she's bound to get some due to the size of the skirt. The top of the dress is corseted and tied tight at the back. Dorcas' mask was bought at a shop in Hogsmeade while the dress was provided by her parents.
Bellatrix D. Black^ hair and make-up ^ Bella had her entire outfit sent to her by her parents, it was what she had wanted when she spotted it in a shop window in Diagon Alley during the christmas school holidays and of course, what she wanted, she got.

Post by Emily Prescott on Jun 15, 2012 18:09:43 GMT
Emily Prescott Emily has enjoyed getting ready for the ball this year, purely for the fact it's a masquerade ball, she finds something enchanting about the whole affair. Her dress is hand stitched, she's added her own touch of sparkle to the corset styled bodice, which is laced up tightly at the back. Her make-up and hair-style are identical to the image you see above. Her mask can be seen via that link. In reality it has less feathers.
Elena Haworth Elena rather reluctantly has caved and will be attending the ball, even though she'll no doubt feel out of place in her ball gown. Her hair is hanging down over her shoulders in it's usual messy state though there's some more bounce in her curls. Her mask is of simple design. Her make up is minimal.
Professor Katherine Dupree Katherine had no intention of attending the ball, but her responsibilities as a teacher won out. Her Dress has a beautiful peacock styled design. Her mask also matches this design. Her make-up is extremely minimal and her hair elegantly curled.
Millie Croft Millie loves the chance to dress up. The masquerade ball is perfect for her because she's used to hiding who she is from people. Her dress has been tailored to fit her body perfectly and has been delicately hand stitched by her families tailor. Her mask is of simple design but still one of a kind and sure to draw attention.
Olivia Knightly Olivia, the eternal party girl is more than excited for this ball. Another reason to dress up, go all out. Her ball gown has been painfully hand stitched, the stones are real. Her mask matches the color of her dress, her make-up matches the color scheme as well.

Celeste's dress is shown above, and is very detailed in rose and black. Her mask is equally as detailed and combined with her curls, she could very easily pass as just another student tonight.

Peter: Peter has somehow got hold of this costume for the night, and this mask to match. He feels rather uncomfortable in it and the mask is rather heavy and wobbly, but at least he doesn't look anything like himself. Not in the slightest. He hopes that dressed as he is he might be able to get a few dances in here and there, and actually have some fun without anyone knowing who he is.

Serena is wearing a stunning, fitted blue dress which trails a little on the floor. The detail in the skirt is what drew her to this particular dress, as well as the color.
Her mask is a beautifully detailed and made out of thin metal with two black ribbons to fix it into place.

[/b] Scar is beyond excited for what the night of the Valentine’s Ball will hold for her. She spent an entire day getting measured over the Christmas Holiday so that her mother’s favorite designer in Paris could craft her a Venetian replica gown. The result is this stunning dress that she feels will get her more than enough attention. As far as her mask goes, she fell in love with the simplicity of this black mask that she found in a small shop outside of Paris on that same holiday trip. Hair and makeup for the night are pictured above and accent the intricacies of her gown with the simplicity of a bun and lighter highlight shades.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

So, to sum it up, Lachlan has no idea about the theme for this year's Valentines Day ball. He's coming as batman.
