rosie seemed to wake up before the rest of the castle practically every single day. perhaps it was the fact that her father often got up so early since she had been born, but you could really only do so much in your dorm before people started complaining about the possibility of being fully woken up before their breakfast time. roaming the castle this early in the morning wasn't permitted by the school, however it wasn't really a fact that was crossing the young girl's mind at the time. she didn't think any of the prefects would be awake anyway to stop her, or the ground's keeper for that matter. after the sun started to rise, everyone began dozing off at their posts anyway.
she slipped out the large doors and took to the forbidden forest. normally the place was just for students looking to prove themselves, or get into trouble, but rosie enjoyed it, honestly. the forest was a beautiful place in every single way from the shelter it provided from the glare of the sun to the animals it housed. she smiled to herself as she hummed, weaving through the trees until she came to her favorite one tucked just before the edge of the lake.
it was no effort to conqure a tree, and in no time she was sitting in it, listening to the sounds of the world around her as the display of sunrise slowly melted into the mundane blues that would mean everyone would be waking up soon. she peeked down through the leaves at the sound of footstpes nearing and she smiled, shaking her head, white-blonde hair dancing about her pale face. "you know, most people would have picked to sleep in another entire hour before crawling out of their beds." she stated simply, leaning against the tree, bare-footed toes dancing in the breeze. "you can come up if you want, the world doesn't seem so sleepy from up here."

Peter had spent most of the night awake and now, despite the fact that the sun wasn't even up, he found that he was already clamoring out of bed, too restless to stay there any longer. Besides, there was a lot on his mind. Such as the fact that the next full moon was in two days, just before they left for Christmas, and still, Peter kept having problems with his animagus form. He wished it was as easy as just flicking his wand and being done with it but he didn't seem to have that sort of luck.
Dressing quickly, Peter headed out of the common room. It was probably still classed as curfew time but he doubted anyone would care. It wasn't like the prefects still roamed at this time, and any professor in their right mind would still be sleeping.
Well... that of course didn't include the ones who weren't in their right minds. Such as Professor Pontmercy who was about as crazy as they got. He passed her sitting on a banister staring down the stairwell buttering something about waiting for the time to come... Peter just shook his head and continued.
It was too early for breakfast. It was too early for anything. So, outside he went. Usually he'd go to the shrieking shack when he wanted to practice with his animagi form but the idea of walking that long tunnel on his own wasn't a particularly appealing one, regardless of the time of day.
Peter wasn't paying all that much attention to where he was going or where he wanted to practice, and before long the thought of practice had fled his mind all together. He slipped into the forbidden forest, only a few trees deep, and started walking parallel to the grounds, just out of sight of them but not far enough away that he wouldn't be able to find his way back out again. Been there. Done that. Not looking for a repeat.
A voice spoke from above Peter and he jumped around startled, a small shriek escaping from him. He eyes darted back and forth trying to locate the voice which still spoke calmly to him. His eyes finally settled on a girl with hair so blonde it was practically white sitting in the tree just off to his right.
"People who were sleeping may still choose to sleep that hour. For those of us who haven't slept at all, lying in bed gets boring very fast." He looked up and down the tree, not entirely sure whether he even wanted to risk climbing it. Chance were he'd get stuck or something...
"I think I'll stay on the ground, thanks..." He looked around him, and sighed. Was he crazy coming into the forbidden forest on his own? Shrugging it off, he looked back up. "Why are you out here? Why aren't you living by your own theory and spending another hour under the duvet?"
