The week was finally over and there was still a day to go until the Hufflepuff party. Chris wasn't one for trying hard in school, but seeing as it was his last year and he needed to do somewhat well in his N.E.W.T exams, his brain was fried from the sheer amount of effort he'd put in during the week.
Taking a rubber bouncyball from his bedside table and shoving it into his pocket, he left the Hufflepuff Common Room in a whirl and made his way up to the rooftops, hoping to get some peace and quiet.
As he reached his destination, he found that the entire place was deserted. Awesome. He sat down against the wall and propped the door open, so that he could bounce his ball against the back of the door whilst still looking out towards the beautiful view below.
The stars were just starting to come out and Chris' mind was let free from the troubles of school. Slouched against the wall in a simple tshirt and jeans, the only thing on his mind was the hope that he didn't get too cold sitting out here without a jumper.

Olivia was determined to not spend another evening trapped inside the dorms, so after quickly changing she'd left the Hufflepuff common room with no clear destination in mind. Anywhere was better than being cooped up again and it was nowhere near curfew yet, so it wasn't as though she was breaking Professor Dumbledore's rules.
After doing a quick round of the castle and a few run ins with friends she'd somehow ended up heading up towards the roof of Hogwarts. She honestly didn't know why she was going up there, maybe it was because she enjoyed the views up there.
Finally reaching her destination she shrugged off her jacket and threw it over her arm. The door to the roof was already open, making it obvious someone else was up here. Her curiousity peaked she stepped through the door and peered around it, a smile appearing on her face, "Hey there Chris...don't mind me..." she said, giving him a small wave as she stepped further out onto the roof.
Catching the bouncy ball in her hand, she shot him another smile, knowing him as Christopher obviously because he was not only in her house but they'd met a few times before, not that she expected him to know who she was, it didn't matter she knew everyone and had no problems striking up conversations even with complete strangers, "So what you doing up here all alone..." she asked, pausing in her juggling the ball to look around, "I'm not interupting anything important am I?" she asked with a smile.

He threw the ball against the back of the door as someone stepped through it, his hand outheld waiting to catch it as it returned. A girl with long, brown hair peered around the door and smiled at him and Chris found himself smiling back. He knew her from somewhere, but he couldn't place the face. He knew she was a Hufflepuff. Maybe. Possibly.
Ahh, who was he kidding. Chris was hopeless with names and faces. "Hey," he said back, raising his eyebrows. The ball didn't return to his hand and the girl caught it in between hers. "Nothing much, really," he said as he pulled his knees up. "Just hanging out with myself, really. Nah, you're not interrupting anything," he grinned back at her. Damn, she was pretty.
"What about you? What are you doing up here?" he turned to look at her as the sun started to set on the horizon. He could only hope that he'd suddenly remember her name, or that she'd give him a hint. Ungh. Why was he so bad at this? "Or did you just decide to come and find me," he grinned broadly, holding his hands out for Olivia to throw him his ball back. He winked at her, letting her know that it was a joke.

Olivia's smile returned when Chris replied, confirming she hadn't interrupted anything, it wouldn't have been the first time she'd unceremoniously walked in on a couple looking for alone time, so it was always good to check. "Hanging out by yourself can't be much fun...lucky I showed up." she joked, sticking out her tongue a little before laughing softly, tossing the ball up into the air, catching it in her other hand.
For a moment she was glad she wasn't one of those girls who got all quiet and shy around good-looking guys, because Christopher was extremely good-looking. With a small shrug, she tossed the ball back to him before laughing lightly at his question, "Damn you figured out my real reason for coming up here..." she teased returning the playful wink, finding herself really liking it when he smiled at her.
"Actually I'm making the most of my freedom before I return back to the common room to see Charity...Professor Dumbledore is, and I quote 'keeping a close eye on me'..." she said with a small sigh, leaning over the edge of the roof slightly before turning back to face Christopher. The sun was setting so there was a warming glow settling over the school and across the roof, though it was still quite cool.
Placing her hands on the ledge, she hoisted her self back up onto the ledge, her back to the rest of the view. It was only when she looked back at Christopher she realized he was missing something, "Are you not cold? I'm wearing a jacket and I can feel the chill in the air?" she said, brushing her hair back from her face.

Chris flashed a grin back in the girl's direction. She sure was friendly - not that Chris minded in the slightest. Perhaps it really was what he was looking for in the first place: good conversation. "Good thing you found me, then," he said back, his eyebrows raised and a playful smile tugging on the corners of his lips.
She winked back and a weird feeling pooled at the bottom of Chris' stomach. Good weird, but still weird nonetheless. She was awfully pretty - agh, if only Chris could remember her name!
Olivia! As soon as she mentioned Charity's name, it all suddenly clicked. The two of them were inseparable. Chris knew Charity kind of well, but something was making him want to know Olivia a bit more...
"And why would Dumbledore be keeping a close eye on you?" he questioned, genuinely puzzled. Wasn't he busy running the school and all that? Shaking his head, he caught the ball in his hand and hoisted himself up off the ground. He made his way over to Olivia and stood next to her, leaning over the balcony, facing the great lake.
He shrugged at her question. "I'm not cold," he replied, "I'm just too manly to feel the cold." He chuckled at his own humour - something Chris was awfully good at doing. "Although I wouldn't mind wearing your jacket," he joked, nodding over to the jacket she was wearing.
"So, you're in your fifth year, right?" he asked, his eyes unwavering from the view on the horizon. He knew that Charity was in her fifth year, and could only guess that Olivia was the same. At least they had a reasonable age difference.

"Dumbledore is keeping an eye on my whereabouts after curfew because he may have busted a party I threw...and also caught me sneaking about the castle late..." she said with a little shrug of her shoulders, smiling at Christopher as he moved over to where she was sitting, leaning against the balcony.
For a moment she observed him, finding herself unable to stop from returning his smile when he joked about being too manly for a jacket and also maybe liking to wear hers. "Sorry to say handsome this is probably a little too small for you...I have no doubts though you'd look very pretty in it." she joked, unable to stop a small laugh at the image of him in a light pink jacket.
He didn't look at her as he spoke once again, and it allowed her to take in his handsome features, wondering why she'd never really appreciated them. Then again she'd never been this close to Chris before, after all they didn't exactly run in the same circle and he was in seventh year, but again she didn't allow that fact to deter her. "Yep.." she said, with a nod of her head, smiling at him. 2 years wasn't too bad an age difference was it?
"So is this part where I find out your too cool to talk to a fifth year?" she asked with a teasing tone, arching an eyebrow and sticking her tongue out at him playfully, her eyes twinkling in amusement as she did.

Chris rasied his eyebrows. So Olivia was a party girl... It wasn't like Chris didn't already know this; if the parties in the common room were anything to go by, then Olivia definitely knew how to throw a good time. He sometimes attended - when he wasn't hanging out with his sister. He chuckled and shook his head slightly. "I see," he said as he got up and made his way over to the balcony. "So what are you gonna do about that party tomorrow, then? Does he know you'll be there at that?"
Ahh, Chris. What a sneaky bastard. He didn't give a rats arse about Dumbledore - all he wanted to know was that Olivia would be there so Chris could get to know her better. Who knew how long they had left together up here on the roof?
He pretended to pout. "Aww, but it looks so pretty..." he said, his bottom lip jutted out, as he reached forward to touch the collar of her jacket. It seemed rather warm. Either way, he wasn't feeling the cold - the small fire that had been lit at the bottom of his throat was keeping him warm.
"Pfft," Chris joked, throwing his hand out in front of him. "Not even." Would he ever not talk to Olivia? She was fun! "Just as long as you're not too cool to talk to a seventh year, I think we should be okay," he smiled back.
"So, where's Charity?" he asked, looking around the rooftop. "You guys are usually inseparable," he commented, hoping that she would get the hint that he had noticed her.

Olivia shrugged, "I don't see why there'd be a problem...the party is in the common room after all, so he can't technically catch me out for sneaking around the castle." she said with a smile, turning to face Chris a little more, one leg now swinging on either side of the ledge, ..."But yes I am going...our house parties are always the best after all..." she said, hoping by his question that it meant he too would be attending.
When Chris pouted, Olivia had to admit it was by far the cutest thing she'd seen and she couldn't help but laugh, being carefully not to move when he reached out to touch the collar of her jacket. "Of course it's pretty...who knows keep wishing hard enough and Santa may bring you one for Christmas..."
she said joked. It was a well known fact she could talk to anyone, even keep up a conversation in an empty room but Olivia hadn't felt so at ease in someone's presence so soon after meeting them before, it was a strange feeling. "Oh of course I'm way too cool but I wouldn't want to deprive you of my awesome company..." she told him, managing to keep a straight face though her eyes gave away her amusement easily. Glancing over the ledge she pulled a face, it certainly was a long way down. Not that heights bothered her...that much. Still she swung her leg back over to safety and hopped off the ledge. "Charity is doing homework...somewhere...I assume...I don't know really, lost her in the haste to get out the common room..." she laughed softly and shrugged her shoulders, eyeing the boy beside her with a smile and a hand on her hip, "So you've noticed...interesting..." she commented with a smile, biting down on her lip before glancing at her watch and pouting, "I'll have to start heading back soon..." she sighed disappointingly.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Chris tapped his nose and looked back at Olivia. "You sly thing," he said, laughing. "Good. Well, I'll see you there, I guess," he smiled, shifting his posture so he was now facing Olivia, who was sitting on the ledge facing him. "But yeah. Our house definitely has the best parties. Once, I went to a Gryffindor one in my fifth year and wowza - that was awkwrd." He gave e nervous laugh. It was an awkward game of truth or dare that just didn't seem to work with the crowd.
He laughed. Olivia was really easy to get along with - crazily so. Perhaps it was because their personalities were so alike, or perhaps they were both just making the special effort for tonight. But whatever it was, he was really liking it. Perhaps a bit more than he really should have.
"Good thing I've got you looking out for me," he said, his eyes bright with excitement. "Else, I would be deprived of your awesome company. I do not consider myself worthy," he joked, winking over at her playfully. Olivia jumped down from the ledge and Chris' eyes followed her.
"Wanna walk back with me?" he asked, shrugging lightly. Hey, at least they'd get to spend some more time together - which was exactly what Chris wanted.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you...maybe get you onto the dance floor... she chuckled, brushing her hair back over her shoulder as the wind blew out. "Gryffindor parties are okay I think, just not when they're all there...you have a select few who really know how to party, the rest are too straight laced." she agreed, with a nod of her head, the Marauders were definitely in the list of people she enjoyed partying with.
When Chris had laughed she found herself smiling, enjoying the sound and glad that he too seemed as at ease as she did, considering this was the first time they'd really spoken. Part of her began really hoping she got to have a few more times like this with him, though she'd settle for catching up at the party tomorrow night.
At his joke she narrowed her eyes before laughing and nodding her head, "Consider it my good deed of the day," she teased, laughing as she did. For a moment she found herself looking into his eyes and seeing the small twinkle there, turning to look at the door then turning back to Chris she nodded.
"Come on then, I'll keep you safe." she sighed, shooting him a wink before threading her arm through his, linking them together as she turned to walk to the door. For a moment part of her wondered whether or not she should have linked him, maybe he wouldn't be keen on it, but she'd always been a bit of a touchy feely person. Her friends and...well everyone was kind of used to it by now, so usually she didn't think when she did it. "So tell me what are your plans for the rest of the night?"

Chris couldn't help but smile. "Careful. I might take you up on that offer," he said, referring to her invitation onto the dancefloor. Chris couldn't dance to save his life, but he had an inkling that Olivia would be the girl that would teach him how to dance.
He laughed again. Since coming up here and having Olivia wander in, his day had been looking much brighter. She was the sunshine that he needed at the end of the day. He winked back and didn't argue as she linked her arm through his. They were already sort of friends - but, what else could you expect with two social hufflepuffs?
Chris pressed his lips into a line. "Mm, I don't really have any plans. Was gonna find my sister, but yeah," he said, shrugging, as they finished their descent down the first flight of stairs. "What about you? Gonna go find Charity?" he smiled.

"I think your the one who needs to be careful buddy..." Olivia threw back at Chris, sending him a playful wink. There was no doubt she'd get him on the dance-floor somehow at the party, Olivia knew she could be very convincing when she needed to be.
She wasn't really looking forward to parting ways with Chris, if she was totally honest with herself. Which in a way was strange considering they'd only just really met, but something about him just...drew her in, made her want to know him just that little bit better.
"Oh that's right...your twin sister right?" she asked, looking up at Chris as they finished walking down the first flight of stairs, still linked. Brushing her hair behind her ear she smiled and nodded her head, "Yes, both Charity and I still need to go through a few things about the party...so I'll be spending the night trapped in my room." she said with a smile, shrugging her shoulders though she sighed, "But I need to get myself presentable enough for a party so...can't complain." she chuckled, scrunching up her nose as she did.
OOC: Don't worry about it lovely it was great!

Luckily for Chris, it was a long way down to the Hufflepuff Common Room. He was enjoying every minute he was spending with Olivia - she was funny, and had lifted his spirits for the week. "Yeah, Lisette is my twin," he replied with a smile.
They were closer than most siblings - but, then again, their childhood had brought them together in an unusual way. They reached the long line of staircases and the two of them started to descend. "So you and Charity are basically the ones organising the whole shindig?" he asked, his eyebrows raised. Well, Olivia did seem to have the personality to match it. It would probably be a good time after all.
"Sounds like a big job." Still arm in arm, they reached the fifth floor landing. The torches had been lit around the castle and what little daylight they had, had vanquished. "I'm sure it'll be fun, though," he complimented, the smile returning to his face.

"Wow twins...I think that's great, it's like having an instant best friend." she chuckled shaking her head lightly. To say she was slightly envious would be an understatement, she wished she had a bond like that with her own siblings instead of having them hate her so much. Though as soon as her thoughts turned to her family she shook them from her head quickly, for fear her mood would darken.
"In a way yes. I love organizing parties as does Charity, I'm going to have to make you my VIP guest at the next party we throw outside the common rooms..." she said laughing lightly, wondering why she hadn't seen him at any she had thrown before.
"It's a big job, but I'm a pro now..." she joked, finding incredible comfort in the now darkened castle. It was strange how much she preferred night time compared to the day. With all the torches lit, there was no denying the magical feel and glow of the castle, she loved it. To think that one day she'd be leaving didn't sit right with her.
As she looked up at Chris she felt her stomach flutter pleasantly seeing the handsome smile there. "So no date for this party tomorrow? Or you going lone wolf...?"
she asked with a smile, sticking her tongue out. It was a not so subtle way of inquiring as to whether he was single or not, surely someone as good-looking as him had a girl-friend.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
