Olivia was bored beyond belief. It was past curfew meaning she was confined to the common room, to top matters off things were pretty quiet in the Hufflepuff common room tonight. There were only a few people about and they were too busy playing exploding snap to pay attention to the fifth year laying upside down on the plush sofa in front of the fire. Holding her small radio player in front of her face, praying that something decent came on soon. "It's a conspiracy...the world wants me to remain bored" she whined.
Under normal circumstances she'd have no problems sneaking out and going to look for fun, in fact she'd be the one making it all but Auror's were still posted around the castle and she wasn't stupid. Olivia was aware of how dangerous things were at the moment so for the sake of not getting another months worth of detentions, she'd opted to stay in and curb her party loving ways for a while. It had only been a couple weeks since her last party and already she was itching to host another, this whole staying in the common room business was getting boring. Not even the Halloween ball had been enough to cheer her up."Someone shoot me now..." she sighed, flicking over to another station on the radio.
As if on cue one of her favourite songs started playing, making a grin spread over the pretty girls face. Maybe things weren't so bad after all. Swinging her legs, she did a backwards role of the sofa till she was stood up, still holding the radio tightly between her hands she turned up the volume and began absently dancing around the small part of the common room no one else was sat in, close to the fireplace.
Eyes were on her, watching in amusement but she didn't care as she continued to sway her hips, move her legs, and her arms, singing along to the music. She didn't care she was dancing alone, or probably getting laughed at, that was the thing about Olivia, other people's opinions didn't matter, she liked to have a good time, even if it was alone. Twirling around her eyes locked onto someone across the room and the smile on her face widened as she placed down the radio onto the table, "Come on gorgeous dance with me..." she sung, wiggling her outstretched fingers.

Chase was stuck in the common room again and this time he was well and truly bored. There was no one around and nothing to do. He couldn't even find Lachie and Trent, which was weird since in was after curfew and the place was practically on lockdown. Well... they could be at the kitchens or something but... he kinda couldn't be bothered to find out. So, lonely common room it was.
He'd thought about reading a book or something but... that idea really didn't appeal to him too much, and he ended up staring at the same pages for ages and not taking anything in. Eventually, he'd closed the book and stared at the cover, letting his mind drift to everything that had happened between him and a certain blonde haired Gryffindor.
Somewhere in the background there was music playing softly from some radio or something but the song choice was pretty lame, so he didn't even bother to listen to that.
A voice stirred him from his musings. "It's a conspiracy...the world wants me to remain bored"
He looked up. From where he sat, all he could see were a pair of legs dangling over the back of the sofa but it didn't take much guessing to figure out who it could be. Olivia, by any chance? He grinned and shook his head. She could be a right nutter. Which was pretty much the reason they were friends.
"Someone shoot me now..."
He sniggered quietly from where he sat, shoving his book over to one side. If he wanted amusement he was bound to find it in watching Olivia. A bored Olivia always ended with a laugh.
The radio clicked to a new challenge and the song was clearly a winner as the volume shot up. The legs disappeared over the sofa and up bobbed Olivia, radio tightly in hand as she bopped of into a empty space, jumping and dancing and singing like no one was watching. He knew without looking that he wasn't the only one watching her now.
As she twirled around he could see the moment she spotted him sitting there and he gave her a half-smirk, raising both hands, little and ring fingers curled in, middle and forefingers straight out, and thumbs pointing straight up. Hands in that position, he flicked his wrists up and down a few times in a motion that resembled guns shooting, winking at the same time and miming a 'pew pew' with every pretend gunshot he fired at her.
"Come on gorgeous dance with me..."
He grinned. "It's much more fun watching you dancing alone, m'dear. Do you know what you look like?" Chase laughed. As expected, a guaranteed laugh where a bored Olivia was involved.

Olivia stuck out her tongue to Chase, though continued to be slightly upset that he'd turned down her offer, as she continued to dance, this time moving a bit out of her space. Twirling around she turned to look at Chase, still dancing, "And I thought you were more fun than that Connors..." she sang, ignoring the stares as people gaped in amusement. All in all she was used to it, she was slightly bonkers according to most of the people in her house...and most of the others as well.
"So where are the rest of my boys this fine night?" she asked Chase as she danced around the sofa. As she finished spinning around the song ended and she came to a crashing halt, a look of pure disappointment crossing her features when another lame song began to play. Grumbling to herself, she picked up the radio, turned it down again and flopped back down on the sofa, her legs swinging over the back f the plush cushions again.
"The world hates me tonight Chase...come entertain me." she sighed, speaking loud enough for Chase to hear. As she waited for him to come over she switched stations on the stereo, "I need you to confirm a couple rumours for me as well beautiful..." she sang a bright smile playing on her pretty face, as she began realising she wanted to actually ask Chase about a few things that had come to light at the ball.

"And I thought you were more fun than that Connors..."
Chase raised an eyebrow and gave her a smirk, though not one that could ever match that of a Slytherin. "Who says I'm not fun? But it wouldn't be fair of me to ruin everyone else's would it? Look around Oli. You're the night's entertainment again."
He saw a few of the students, mostly the few younger ones that were there, looking quickly away and he grinned, expecting that reaction. A lot of the older students who were used to seeing Olivia dancing around and having fun on her own weren't bothered by what he said and were grinning too.
"I have no idea or I'd likely be there too. Trent is probably in the library and I think Lachie found himself a date for the evening." Lachie seemed to be off in his own world or sneaking off to see some girl quite often, but Chase still had no idea who it was he'd been seeing. For once, Lachie wasn't coming back bragging about his accomplishments and instead was keeping his stories to himself. Pretty un-Lachie like, but who knew what was going on.
The song on the radio ended and Olivia stopped dancing. The look on her face when the next song began was enough to make him laugh out loud. The sound from the radio suddenly decreased by half and Olivia flopped back down on the sofa, a pair of feet reappearing over the top of it and he shook his head, unable to get rid of the look of amusement on his face.
"The world hates me tonight Chase...come entertain me."
He laughed softly to himself. "Aww, poor diddums." Even as he said it his was pushing himself to his feet. Most people had gone back to whatever it was they'd been doing before, whether that was reading, doing homework, playing exploding snap...
As he neared her he could hear the sound of the radio clicking between stations. She was right though, there didn't seem to be any decent tracks on tonight.
"I need you to confirm a couple rumours for me as well beautiful..."
He could hear her sing-song voice and shook his head, pretty sure he knew what was coming. He reached the sofa and rested his arms on the back of the sofa, looking over at her. "Oh yeah? And what rumors would they be?" Why did he get the feeling he was going he hear more about what happened between him and Lachie at the ball?

Olivia stuck out her tongue at Chase when he replied to her before making his way over to where she now lay. The familiar hum of students talking amongst themselves returned, so attention was once again off the bubbly girl on the couch. Right now she only had the attention of one person and for now that was enough, it looked like tonight was going to be a quiet one anyway and Chase was always good for a right giggle, even if they were stranded in this damn common room.
Finally Chase reached the sofa and leaned against the back beside where her legs dangled. Looking at him and away from the radio she smiled to his question. Oh there were so many things she'd heard about that night, she was actually really upset she had missed the main attraction of the night, which of course had been Chase and Lachie kissing. Sadly no one had thought to take a picture of the legendary moment. However as a friend she still had the right to tease Chase about it, and Lachie when she finally caught up with him.
"Rumor has it that aside from just kissing, you and Lachie were all ready to strip off and get nasty with each other in the middle of the Great Hall...didn't you get on your knees and start to unbuckle his belt?" she asked, not bothering to hide a smile that had spread over her face. Laughing she swung her legs down and moved so she was kneeling on the couch, facing Chase but just to the side of where he was leaning.
Reaching out she ruffled his hair, "You know, if the other rumor I heard is true I don't see why you felt the need to get some action that quick...aren't you dating Gryffindor's Golden Girl?" she asked, with another smile. She wondered what was going on between the two, Emily didn't seem the type to go for someone like Chase, and he certainly wasn't one to go for just one girl. So how in the world had they gotten together, it couldn't be just casual as she knew how the other blonde felt about that. "You've been a busy boy haven't you gorgeous...I'm almost jealous." she joked, things on the romance front had been super quiet for her lately.

"Rumor has it that aside from just kissing, you and Lachie were all ready to strip off and get nasty with each other in the middle of the Great Hall...didn't you get on your knees and start to unbuckle his belt?"
Chase took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Now how did he just know that that was coming? Typical that Olivia would manage to hear about something like that... When Chase opened his eyes again Olivia had moved so that she was kneel on the sofa instead. He gave her a look and rolled his eyes. "Trust you to bring that up. And... we were going to go to the broom cupboard actually, not in the middle of the Great Hall... But... yeah, the whole thing wore off with good timing, otherwise things would have been a lot more awkward than they already were." And that night was one Chase didn't really want to remember. Sure him and Lachie had sorted things out between them pretty much straight away, but the memories were still there, and they weren't favorable ones. He really wished he could erase the memory of being on his knees in front of Lachie from his mind... "Any way, where were you that night?"
Olivia reached over and ruffled his hair and he gave her a look. What was it with people and his hair? Ah, now there was the other thing that he was expecting to hear about. Word of him and Emily was well and truly out in the open now, wasn't it?
"Surprised? I bet when you think of me and a girl you don't think of an actual relationship and someone like Em, right?" Chase shook his head and blinked a few times. Even now he sometimes didn't quite know what to think about the whole thing. Ask him a month ago if he thought this would ever happen he'd have laughed, but now?
Chase sent her a grin and reached to ruffle her hair in return. "D'aww. Jealous? Of me? With Emily? I didn't think she was your type. Or do you miss me, Oliols?" Chase stuck his tongue out in her direction. While the two of them had never been more than just friends, they had got drunk one night and ended up making out for a while, which was something to joke and laugh about now. "You know what you need? To get out of the common room. Screw the rules."

Olivia shrugged her shoulders, examining her nails before she looked back at Chase. "I get to hear most things around here...nothing can remain secret around me Chase Connors, you should know that." she commented, shooting him a bright smile and ruffling his hair again for the second time after he shot her a look. It didn't bother her or stop her from teasing in the slightest, he should know it only encourages her.
"Nope I can honestly admit I thought it would take you a couple more years to mature enough to settle into a relationship, and I NEVER believed you'd bag someone like Emily, she seems too sensible...then again, she did date Lachlan..." she said with a shrug of her shoulders, ducking her head as he ruffled her hair. Part of her wondered just how serious Chase was about Emily, even though she didn't know the girl well the last thing she wanted was for her to get hurt, especially after what she'd suffered through in the forest...then again she'd never expected Chase to be so serious about someone, maybe things were different this time.
"D'aww. Jealous? Of me? With Emily? I didn't think she was your type. Or do you miss me, Oliols?...You know what you need? To get out of the common room. Screw the rules."
She returned his gesture and stuck out her own tongue at him and laughed lightly shaking her head. Hey Emily's hot if I was going to switch teams well she'd be someone I'd do it for...but seriously I think most guys have taken a vow of celibacy around this school..." she pouted, her romantic life was extremely lacking lately and she hated it. "As for sneaking out no can do...I've been warned by Dumbledore himself...have to keep a low profile for a bit..." she said with a small smirk as she thought about being caught out after hours by the Headmaster, to say he'd been unimpressed would have been an understatement. "But I do have plans to kick off a party in the common room in the coming weeks...you game?"

Chase closed his eyes tightly and shuddered. ”Thanks for that…” He really didn’t need the reminder that his girlfriend used to date his best friend. Not when it was the same best friend that Chase himself had been making out with only days before hand. And while that was horribly awkward, the image of Emily making out with Lachie in the same way? That was possibly a worse image… The whole topic was one that Chase was happy to keep somewhat taboo.
”Hey Emily's hot if I was going to switch teams well she'd be someone I'd do it for...but seriously I think most guys have taken a vow of celibacy around this school..."
He raised an eyebrow and blinked several times. ”You shouldn’t say stuff like that… so many images race through my mind as you say that…” Hot damn… Well, come on! He was a teenage guy, what else was he supposed to think when a hot girl talked about ‘swinging’ for another hot girl? His imagination when completely out of control… holy hell… God he’d almost be willing to pay to see them go at that! ”And how to you honestly expect to find anyone if you’re cooped up in here all day and night?”
”As for sneaking out no can do...I've been warned by Dumbledore himself...have to keep a low profile for a bit..."
Chase rolled his eyes before grinning at her, leaning in close till his nose almost came into contact with hers. ”Babe, the kitchens can hardly be called sneaking out, right?” He winked. Somehow or another, he was determined to get her out of this room. And while the kitchens weren’t his perfect idea of a night out, it was at least ‘out’ of the common room… Besides, food fight anyone?
”A party, huh? Do tell, M’dear.” Now a party was always bound to be fun if Olivia was involved in the preparations.

"Oh quit pouting...they dated for all of a few weeks...sure they were cute together but there was so obviously nothing more there than friendship..." Olivia chuckled, ruffling Chase's hair once more, sticking her tongue out at him. Secretly she found it amusing that the three of them, Chase, Emily and Lachie could now say they all knew what it was like to kiss each other. Chuckling to herself she shook her head and decided not to say anything to Chase, chances where that wouldn't sit well with him.
”You shouldn’t say stuff like that… so many images race through my mind as you say that…And how to you honestly expect to find anyone if you’re cooped up in here all day and night?”
Olivia rolled her eyes and laughed softly, shaking her head lightly as she looked at Chase. "Typical Chase...actually typical male..." she said, looking over at the the clock on the wall before turning to face Chase again. "I am not cooped up all day and night, just the night part...Headmaster has no rights to tell me not to go out during the day...though if he did, I guess on the plus side I'd miss classes." she said, drifting off slightly into her thoughts before shaking her head and returning her focus to Chase.
”Babe, the kitchens can hardly be called sneaking out, right?
For a moment she said nothing in response just looked at Chase before a smile spread over her lips. Jumping up from the sofa she grabbed Chase by the hand, "Come on then hot stuff... she sang, paying no mind to the few stares they were now getting. Holding onto Chase's hand she led him through the common room and out into the corridor, "It's just a house party, but God knows we all need one...nothing Dumbledore can do about a House party..." she said proudly, waiting till the portrait moved aside before she stepped into the kitchen.

Chase grinned. Typical Chase indeed.
"So... what exactly did you do to get yourself banned to this place each night? I mean, you had to have been doing something for him to speak to you personally." He grinned. Dumbledore tended to be in the most random of places at the most random of times, so it could simply have been that Olivia was out a little too close to curfew or something. Either way, to have been told, specifically, by Dumbledore, to stay inside after hours? There probably weren't a lot of people who could say that.
Chase watched the expression of her face change as his words sunk in and he knew, this time, that he'd won. To the kitchens it would be! Olivia and being stuck inside didn't bode well to begin with. A little bit of prompting and Chase knew she'd cave.
Olivia grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the entrance hall, waiting until they were out before answering his question about the party. "A house party would certainly be fun but... aren't the prefects already clearing house parties with Dumbledore? You know that long weekend we get in November? I'm pretty sure they were trying to set something up for all the houses then."
Though if they had another party before then Chase sure wouldn't be complaining! He loved to party. And drink. And just generally have a good time... He wouldn't mind another night out sometime soon either, though preferably one that didn't involved him and Lachie rolling around on the ground.
Chase quickly followed Olivia into the kitchens and breathed in deeply through his nose. Ahh... food.
