Dear god, she was missing breakfast to intercept an owl. She had gotten so low? True, the last letter she had gotten had been intercepted by a Slytherin and she had to transfigure him into a cockroach to get it back, earning her a weeks worth of detention. But still.
Sighing, Ferret leaned against the wall. She hoped today was the day her letter came. Otherwise she had missed breakfast for no reason. Sighing, she brushed some of the owl droppings off the floor and wall to make a clean spot before settling down there. She rubbed her eyes and sighed, pressing the heel of her hands into her eyes.
It was going to be a long day and it was the holidays. She had decided not to go home, due to the fact her elder brothers were all away, her grandparents were off in the Caribbean to celebrate their anniversary, and she did not want to risk seeing Emric. It was still customary to kill squibs on sight for some.
Sighing, she looked up at the rafters, admiring the different owls.
"Maybe I should invest in an owl,"[/b[ she thought aloud. It couldn't hurt.

Audrey was kind of in trouble. Back in first year she had promised her dad that she would send him a letter at least once a week. Well she was a fifth year now, and though she still loved her dad to pieces she had kind of had a social life here at Hogwart's that she thought took precedence and so she missed one freaking week. She hadn't expected him to get all ballistic about it. But she knew he worried about her. She hadn't told him much of it what was going on in the Wizarding world, but he'd gotten the gist of it, and that was enough to make him anxious.
She'd scraped together a letter this morning and was just about to send it off. She strolled into there with a casual gait, too absorbed in her letter to notice that someone else was in her until she was practically on top of them.
"Whoops, sorry," She blushed and giggled a little as she took a step back. She was surprised to see she recognized said someone. It was her fellow Gryffindor, who's name was Alice but who most people called ferret.
"Hey Hun, watcha doing up here at this hour?" Audrey usually got her meals directly from the kitchens, as the house-elves were nice enough to get her a special diet even though they didn't understand why she wouldn't eat the food they prepared for the other students. She hadn't pegged Alice as one to skip meals, however, it had just never seemed like her thing.

Ferret looked around to see her dorm mate enter the owlery. Smiling she went back to waiting for her owl only to have Audrey almost on top of her.
"Woah their girlie, what where you step," Ferret said playfuly. She stood and brushed off the straw that had stuck to her robes. It wasn't too gross, but it was gross.
"Well," Ferret said, looking around at the sleeping birds. "I am waiting to intersept an owl before some Snake git takes it again and I have to hex him to the wall." She shrugged. She was perfectly calm the entire time she spoke.
"What about you?"

Audrey chortled at her response. "Nice," She said with an another appreciate chuckle, "I've heard that those transfiguration spells of yours are a menace, didn't you turn somebody into a mouse the other day?" She was kind of just making small talk, but Alice's habit of turning people into undesirable creatures was sort of legendary, or at least, Audrey thought it was. she had already sworn never to get on Alice's bad side, which was probably an important resolve since she had a habit of getting on people's bad sides because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. But she didn't think anyone, even Alice, would ever turn her into something gross because she was just too cute. Maybe something fun like a bunny, she wondered what it would be like to be a bunny. It might actually be fun.
She almost asked her to turn her into a bunny, but she resisted, partly because she might actually do it. Whatever she might pretend she was pretty sure being a bunny would suck. Having to hope around all done with those annoying ears flopping everywhere? No. Thank. You.
She held up her letter, "Just sending something off to my Dad before he has an Anuerysm." She wasn't exagerating that much either.

Ferret smiled. Yes, she was good when it came to transfiguration, as ironic as that was. And it was by far one of her favorite classes. She had considered once becoming an animagus, but decided against it, unsure of how her DNA would react. She could still ask McGonnigall she supposed but at the moment, that was not her most pressing matter. Her letter was.
"I turned Mr. Peter Pettigrew into a rat actually," Ferret explained. "For turning me into a ferret...though, now that I think about it I should have been congratulating him on doing the speel well, even if it wasn't suppose to be for me."
Ferret smiled softly. "Well, there could be worse things to have. Having a dragon chase you for example."

Audrey raised her eyebrows, "Really, well I suppose that's what you get for wanting to be called a rodent," she said teasingly, then her nose wrinkled. "Mind you, I found out the to her day that Audi is a muggle car company." Being raised the way she was, she had always felt more comfortable in the muggle world than most other magical folk. She was also significantly more knowledgeable, meaning she knew all about cars, or at least more than any other wizard.
Audrey actually froze for a second, before she remembered that there was no way a dragon could actually ever meet her father, probably. "Haha funny," she said with energy and sarcasm as she went to the window, selecting her favorite owl and tying the letter to his leg.
"I've always wanted to see a dragon," she mused randomly out loud, then she looked over at Alice and smiled, "It would pretty spectacular, don;t you think?"
