It was the Christmas holidays at last, and Chase couldn't wait to get home and enjoy a nice, relaxing holiday away from the busy hustle and bustle of the school, and the whispers and rumors that always seemed to race alone the gossip chains. He loves Hogwarts - minus the lessons part - but he loved being able to go home every once in a while to just... chill.
This year Chase was really excited. Usually his dad was working right up until Christmas Eve and would return to work for Boxing Day, but this year, things were going to be different. A whole two and a bit weeks with both his parents around to spend the festivities with. Perfect.
Except for one thing. He hadn't even made it half home on the train before he was already missing Emily like crazy. Who'd have thought the day would come when Chase Connor's world would begin to revolve around a girl? Well... It was Emily, and she was pretty damn amazing - and beautiful, too. Hell... what would his parents think if he mentioned having a serious girlfriend? His dad would laugh his ass of for starters, and his mum? Well she was likely to bury him under a thousand and one questions about what she was like and what his intentions were in order to decided whether 1. The girl in question was 'decent' or 'one of those sl*tty types', and 2. Whether Chase was serious about her for her, or whether he was just after her for her looks. Typical April Connors basically.
He loved his mum but sometimes she could be a little bit obsessive when it came to girls he knew. The number of times Chase had rolled his eyes and reminded her that he wasn't a kid anymore...
In a way though, he couldn't blame her for worrying. There had been several family holidays when Chase had been a little... out of control, for lack of a better term. But what could one say? He was a teenager, teenage boys had certain needs. Besides, stick him on a beach full of bikini-clad girls and what had his mother honestly expected? Him to turn his head away and act all modest? Ha! Not him. No way. He'd been straight in there talking to them all and... well... if he ended up sneaking into a night club or two and making out with a hot chick or three, then what could he say?
His mum had never been a fan of 'those girls', the kind who wore tons of makeup and dressed in clothes a little too low or a little too tight, and who would hang onto any guy who looked their way. April Connors did not approve at all. She wanted Chase with someone sweet and modest and loyal... So what would she think of Emily?
By the time the train had made it into King's Cross Chase was debating on whether or not he should tell his parents about having a girlfriend. And those thoughts only made him think more about Emily alone at Hogwarts. Was she really going to spend her Christmas by herself? That kinda sucked... A lot. It almost made Chase wish he'd chose to stay at school too so that he could have spent it with her.
Those thoughts stayed on his mind and repeated again and again over the few days that followed until, eventually, on the morning of the 24th, an idea came to mind. So he couldn't spend Christmas with Emily... but that was no reason why she couldn't spend Christmas with him, right?
At around 11am Chase made up his mind to floo to The Three Broomsticks and head up to the school to ask Em to join him, at least for the day, even if she didn't want to stay with him on Christmas day itself, he at least wanted to spend some time with her. And besides, he'd be able to surprise her by showing up in this way.
His parents had already left the house and told him that they wouldn't be back till late, so, as he got ready to leave for Hogwarts, a whole load of ideas and plans raced through his mind. He'd go to the school and sneak in to see Emily, try and convince her to come to his house for a few days of the holiday, and if that failed, then to at least to come out with him for the day. If she agreed to stay for a few days he'd take her to his, if not then... sure he'd be little bit disappointed but he'd spent the day trying to find as many fun things to do with her as he could...and still maybe sneak her back to his place while his parents were out.
He'd expected The Three Broomsticks to be quite empty seeing as it was a morning, but he was wrong. He was surprised at just how many people seemed to want to start their Christmas Eve drinking from the minute that they woke up on a morning. Some of the guys in the corner looked drunk out of their skulls already... if they kept it up all day they were going to be completely comatose come Christmas morning... but maybe that was what they wanted.
He slipped through the crowded pub unseen and let out a huge sigh of relief when he finally stumbled out of the door and the cold air hit him. Smoke and sweat wasn't high on his list of things he wanted to be stinking off today, that was for sure.
Snow had been falling over the past week and it made the long trek up to the school a difficult one, and it took a lot longer than he'd expected it too. Heck! He wished he'd thought to take a broom with him then he could have just flown the distance and be there in a matter of minutes. That thought it mind, the first place he went when he made it onto the grounds was towards the Quidditch pitch, and the lockers behind them. Most of the brooms were kept locked safe away, but the cupboard which held the school brooms was always open for anyone to use. And he did that just now.
If he had to go hunting down Emily with no real idea where she was then he wasn't about to do it on foot. First stop for him would be to fly up to the Gryffindor tower and peer in her window and just hope that she was there. If not he'd try the library but other than that... where would she go when there was no one left in the school?
Luckily, Chase didn't have to look far to find her. He could see her in her dorm room and sitting on her bed with a book in hand when he peered in. For a minute he just hovered there, wind battering him, as he watched her. Emily with a book in hand... he should have expected no less. A smile spread over his face as he watched her.
Tapping softly on her window he watched her expression and the dawning realization as she realize who it was. He grinned and waved, motioning for her to open the window to let him in from the cold.
"Merry Christmas, beautiful. Miss me? I have a proposition for you..."

Christmas happened to be Emily's favorite time of year. The best thing about was the fact that she could go home, see her parents, but sadly that wasn't happening this year. A letter from her parents had let her know they were in fact headed to France for their wedding anniversary, a surprise from her Dad. They'd both had apologized profusely but Emily, although rather upset hadn't said anything and simply told them to have a wonderful time. She knew how much her Mother had always wanted to go to France so who was Emily to make her parents feel guilty, besides it was just one Christmas, they promised to stay home next year and make up for it which was enough for Emily.
Her Father was a regular romantic and was always surprising her Mum with trips such as this one, but France had been her dream since before Emily was born. They were an amazing, inspirational couple and she wasn't saying that simply because they were her parents. They were still so in love with each other, which made Emily feel like the luckiest girl in the world. They'd been together since high school and still acted like love struck teenagers.
To make matters worse, it was looking like she was going to be spending Christmas alone at Hogwarts too. Everyone was going home to celebrate the holiday with their own family, even Chase was going and that really got her down, though she'd walked him to the gates, said goodbye with a kiss and a smile. She really did hope he had fun with his parents, he'd seemed awfully excited to be getting some time with them and although she was going to miss him tremendously, Emily had rationalized with herself that she could write to him when she sent him his Christmas Present, which she was also nervous about giving to him, not sure if he would like it or not.
Keeping herself busy during the first day everyone had left had been easy but, with the castle so empty there had been nothing for Emily to do at all. By the 24th she'd relocated to her room, figuring she'd spend the day reading. She had been out enjoying the snow the previous day, but it had gotten scarily deep outside that instead of battling her way outside again today, she'd opted for the warmer slightly more cozier option. If she was honest with herself, she wasn't even finding it in her to look forward to Christmas. As a kid she'd adored the holiday, but here she was, alone, with no family or friends.
So after enjoying an unnaturally long lie in, she'd gotten up and showered before settling down on her bed to write a letter to Chase, one she planned on sending with his present. After finishing that she'd settled to read 'A Christmas Carol' her favorite story, and one she religiously read during the holiday season. Flipping over the page she sighed quietly a small smile playing on her lips as she absorbed the wonderfully familiar words once more. There was some kind of comfort in this story, she half wondered if Chase had read it...then hearing a tap on her window she frowned and turned...
Speak of the devil. There was Chase, outside her dorm window on a broom and smiling in at her. For a moment she wondered if she had fallen asleep, but no, he was still there even after she'd opened and closed her eyes a few times. Closing the book on her lap she hopped down off the bed and made her way over to the window, pushing it open and shivering slightly when the cold air hit her short clad legs. "Chase...I...Merry Christmas to you too...come in here..." she said, laughing softly as she took a step back away to give him room.
There was a bright smile on her face as she looked at the boy in front of her, unable to believe he was actually here. It was Christmas Eve, he should have been at home with his parents, "And of course I missed you...tonnes actually..." she said after several seconds, tucking her hair behind her ear as she shook her head. "I can't believe your...whats your proposition?" she asked, stepping up to him, the familiar butterflies in her stomach going wild.

Through the window Chase could see the obvious surprise on Emily's face at seeing him there and he grinned in at her with a wave. He watched her open and close her eyes a few times, and if it wasn't for the fact that the window was closed he definitely would have had a comment or two to make about it. Instead, he just allowed his grin to grow.
Emily shivered as she pushed open the window and the bitter winter air blew in. He was chilled through! He couldn't even feel his fingers or his toes any more and he had no doubt that his nose was probably blue."Chase...I...Merry Christmas to you too...come in here..."
"I was planning on it, babe." As soon as she stepped back from the window he maneuvered his broom inside, ducking his head under the low window frame before landing solidly on the floor.
He shivered but he couldn't miss the warmth of the room on his frozen features. Jeeze he'd almost forgotten what it felt like to be warm!
Chase rested the broom against the wall then turned and quickly closed the window. He could see the bright smile on Emily's face and couldn't stop the one of his own to match it. He was glad that she seemed to have missed him as much as he'd missed her. Now he just had to hope she liked what he had in mind.
"I can't believe your...whats your proposition?"
Chase grinned and winked at her, not answering straight away. He pulled his gloves off and loosened his jacket, shrugging it off and throwing it on the nearest bed which wasn't Emily's though he had no idea whose it actually was. His gloves followed, as did the hat that hadn't helped to keep him ward in the slightest.
Emily stepped up to him and he smiled down at her, reaching out to slide his arms around her waist and pull her closer her, glad to have her back in his arms even though it had only been a few days since he'd last seen her. He pressed his frozen nose to her cheek and grinned, wondering how to approach the subject but deciding to just throw himself straight into the deep end. "Come spend Christmas with me."

Emily was happy when Chase turned and closed the dorm room window, she had known it was closed but hadn't realized how cold it was. Though she could barely feel it due to how happy she felt over Chase being here, though she was slightly confused as to why he was here, it was Christmas Eve after all. When he turned one of his smiles her way, she felt the butterflies come to live in her stomach.
As he began shrugging off his jacket and tossed it onto Lily's bed she laughed lightly, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched him continue to remove all his outdoor clothing in mild amusement. Despite all the extra clothing his cheeks were still red and he looked freezing, so when he reached out for her she went willingly, though she shivered ever so slightly, able to feel the chill on his skin even through her clothes.
Though when he pressed his nose to her cheek she jumped slightly, but still didn't move from his arms. Looking at him she scowled, her arms reaching up to wrap around his shoulders, though seeing the grin on his face she couldn't find it in her to tell him off. Instead she listened to what he said, arching her eye brow and smiling slightly, surprise clear on her face.
"With you? But I thought...at your house?" she asked, biting down on her lip. She'd long since resolved herself to the fact she was going to be spending Christmas alone this year, part of her didn't mind but the other part did, so Chase's suggestion was extremely tempting to say the least. Which was why she was confused at the fact she hadn't jumped at the chance to say yes to him.
"Christmas is meant to be a time for family...do your parents know your asking me? Would they mind?" she asked, her thumb drawing lazy circles on the back of his neck. Smiling slightly she sighed and leaned in close to Chase, pressing her nose to the crook of his neck before she pressed a soft kiss there. Pulling back enough to look at him, she smiled and shook her head. She did want to spend Christmas with him, she was surprised he did too, considering meeting the parents was a pretty big step.
Several moments passed before she shook her head again and smiled, "You really know how to tempt a girl don't you." she teased, and laughed softly, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips, lingering for a second longer than she'd intended before pulling back, "I would love to spend Christmas with you...actually couldn't think of anything I'd like more." she told him honestly.

Chase laughed softly when Emily jumped, in much the way he expected that she might. It just went to prove exactly how cold he was. She frowned up at him but that couldn't wipe the grin from his own face as he asked her to spend Christmas with him. The surprise on her face was impossible to miss.
"With you? But I thought...at your house?"
He laughed softly and shook his head at her. "Of course with me. And where else? In a barn?" He chuckled and rested his forehead against hers, their noses bumping. She was so warm compared to him...
He sensed a slight hesitation "What's wrong?"
"Christmas is meant to be a time for family...do your parents know your asking me? Would they mind?"
Chase gave her a lopsided smile and pulled her a little tighter into his arms. "Of course they won't mind. They'll probably be surprised as hell to find I really am serious about a girl for once." He stuck his tongue out at her and deliberately left out answering the part about whether his parents knew or not. They didn't... but she didn't need to know that. And hopefully she wouldn't ask.
Her thumb was drawing circles on the back of his neck and he let his eyes drift closed and just enjoy the feeling of her warm hands moving over his skin, chasing away the chills. Emily pressed her face into the crook of his neck and Chase sighed contently, one arm moving up so it wrapped around her shoulders, just enjoying the closeness of this moment that they got to share alone together.
At first Chase wasn't too sure what to make of the head shakes and the quietness but he didn't have to worry for long.
"You really know how to tempt a girl don't you."
Chase grinned at her and kissed her back. "That I do, babe. I consider it to be of utmost importance to know exactly how to woo a girl and blow her away. Are you blown yet?" He grinned at her and kissed her again.
"I would love to spend Christmas with you...actually couldn't think of anything I'd like more."
A smile split his face as he wrapped his arms around her to pick her up and spun her around with a laugh. "And I'd love nothing more than to have you there with me." Chase set her feet back down on the ground and kissed her, hoping to express in that one kiss exactly how much he really did want her there. "It looks like this might be one of the best christmas's yet."

Emily laughed softly, pressing herself closer to Chase, when he rested his head against hers, with a light shrug she smiled again, pretending to think over what he'd said, "Hey now...I'm thinking we'd be able to find some kind of fun in a barn..." she said winking at him, hoping he was beginning to thaw out a bit, he was freezing, it made her actually dread leaving the warmth of her room.
"Of course they won't mind. They'll probably be surprised as hell to find I really am serious about a girl for once."
Emily couldn't fight the smile on her face now, or the way her heart seemed to skip when his words registered. His arms around her had tightened, and he stuck out his tongue but all she could do was smile, before biting down on her lip. "So your pretty serious about me huh?" of course she'd known from Halloween he'd wanted to try and make this work but hearing him say he was serious, and the fact he seemed so at ease about her meeting his parents sent her into a bit of a whirlwind. There was no denying his words made her happy.
The moments of silence that passed were spent comfortably, both of them just enjoying the closeness they were sharing. "That I do, babe. I consider it to be of utmost importance to know exactly how to woo a girl and blow her away. Are you blown yet?" Emily arched an eyebrow at Chase, and pulled back to look at him after he kissed her again, "Erm, well I better be the only girl your trying to woo and blow away..." she teased, poking him in the chest
The grin that appeared on his face a few seconds later when she accepted the Christmas proposal was something else entirely and his actions surprised her, in a good way. His arms wrapped around her waist, and before she could react Emily felt herself lifted from the ground and spun around as Chase let out a laugh, her own following.
"And I'd love nothing more than to have you there with me...It looks like this might be one of the best christmas's yet."
He kissed her and Emily felt herself sinking into it. He wanted her there, she could feel it and it made her happy. So before she could melt into the kiss anymore she broke away, and smiling up at Chase, she stood on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss onto his still cold nose. "Go sit on the bed...I'll have to get dressed..." she ordered, slipping out of his arms and pointing over to her own bed with a wink before turning on her heal and heading to her closet. "How did you get here by the way? You drop off somewhere in Hogsmeade?" she asked, wondering how they were going to get back to his.

Chase hadn't even realize quite what he'd said until he saw Emily's reaction to it. He'd told her that he was serious about being in a relationship with her, and while that was pretty much the same as what he'd said to her at Halloween, he knew that there was only so much from that night she could honestly rely upon. That whole thing with Elena early on had been a right mess.
"Of course I am, babe. Have you met you?" He grinned and made a show of looking her over. How did he end up with this sexy young woman? She was stunning - beautiful, smart, brave... she was everything that any guy could want. And that was part of the reason he sure as hell didn't want to mess things up between them now. She was pretty much perfect.
Chase saw her arched eyebrow before he leaned in to kiss her and he grinned at her comment. He just winked at her with a cheeky grin on his face. Of course she knew that he had eyes for no one but her these days, but he was glad that after everything that it was still something that they could joke about.
He heard what he'd been hoping to hear and before he knew what he was doing he'd picked Emily up and spun her around, both of them laughing. He'd really been hoping that she'd agree to go home with him for a few days and spend Christmas with him. He'd almost been preparing himself for her to say no to him, but as usual, she was full of surprises.
Emily broke the kiss before planting a kiss to his still frozen nose, then moving away to get dressed. He sat on her bed like instructed and picked up the book she'd been reading, glancing at the cover.
"Floo." He remember then that Emily was a muggle born and wondered if she even knew what that was. "Have you ever used it?"
Now at least he had the broom with him, so it would be easy enough to fly them back to Hogsmeade and floo back to his place. And he could easily just return the broom later. It was the Christmas holidays. There were only a dozen or so students left in the school to begin with, and it really wasn't the weather for flying. It wasn't like the broom was going to be missed.
"How much would it take to persuade you to stay for a couple of days? Maybe even till New Year?" He knew he might be pushing it a bit but he really didn't like the thought of her staying here all alone. He wanted to be with her. And besides, wasn't New Year the time you were supposed to kiss the person you wanted to spend the next year with? He could think of no one he'd like to share that kiss with more than Em. He just needed to convince her to stay that long first.

"Floo? I've erm, heard of it, never had the unfortunate experience of using it though..." Emily said with a bit of a wince, she'd heard some pretty interesting stories surrounding that particular mode of Wizard transportation. Grabbing her clothes she shot a wink at Chase and headed back to the bed, laying them out neatly before looking up at Chase with a smile, "A couple of days? Oh that will cost you..." she said with a smirk, crawling onto the bed she straddled Chase's waist and pressed her lips to his and kissed him deeply.
Pulling back she smiled and sat up, "But I'm in, if your sure you want me to stay for a couple of days..." she said with a soft smile, dropping a kiss onto his nose before slipping back off the bed and walking over to her cupboard. Grabbing her enchanted small beaded bag, which was only small but extremely spacious inside, she wrapped it around her wrist, and began packing a few changes of clothes, pj's and a few extras including Chase's present. Turning back to Chase she smiled and made her way back over, placing the small beaded bag on the bed as she began slipping out of her lounge clothes.
Slipping on her tights, dress and shoes she stepped away and began brushing her hair, facing the mirror. "So tell me is there anything I need to know about your family?" she asked, slipping a hair clip into her hair. Placing the brush down she ran her hands over her dress and smiled, her eyes flickering to Chase before she bit down on her lip and turned. "Before I forget..." she sang, pulling open her drawers and pulling out a black bag. "A surprise for you...but you'll have to wait to see it," she said with a smile, her cheeks flushing lightly as she opened the small beaded back and slipped the other black bag into it.
"So I'm ready to go..." she said softly, pulling on her jacket as she turned back to Chase.

Chase grinned. "Unfortunate experience? Babe, you've never lived till you've tried floo power. It loses it's awe as you get older but as a kid? That day your parents finally let you floo alone is like... the biggest, bestest day in your whole life." He finished in a somewhat silly, childish voice. He could remember how he'd been the first time he'd floo'd alone. He'd been giddy with excitement...
Emily grabbed some clothes from the wardrobe as he asked if she'd stay longer, fingers crossed behind him as he waited for a response. He moved around until he was leaning against her pillows, making himself comfy after the cold he'd endured in the tromp up to the castle.
"A couple of days? Oh that will cost you..."
He watched her smirk and sent one back as she began to crawl up the bed towards him, and straddled him, kissing him deeply. He kissed her back with just as much feeling and ran his hands over her, reacquainting himself with her. They'd only been apart a few days but he'd missed not being able to hold and kiss her like this.
Chase grinned when she pulled back. "I'm sure." He'd never been more sure. There was no doubt at all that he wanted her there. He just hoped his parents would feel the same way.
He sat in silence for a few minutes, just watching as she packed things into her bag. The same one she seemed to take everywhere with her. As she pulled stuff out of the wardrobe it was all stuffed into the tiny bag, and it didn't take long before any doubts of it being enchanted to hold more were brushed away. That thing could definitely not hold all the things she was cramming into it.
She placed the bag on the bed near him and he smirked. "No medicine. Not even with the sugar." Chase grinned, wondering if she'd catch onto the reference from the muggle book that he read years ago.
He eyes glued to her as he watched her changed, somewhat relieved that she didn't feel like she had to go hide away in the bathroom to change or something. She was comfortable enough around him to change with him there. And Chase wasn't about to complain at the view.
"I can't think of anything in particular... except, perhaps, that my sister is likely to attach herself to your hip while your their." He knew that Risa would take instantly to Emily. He didn't doubt that for a minute.
His curiosity piqued at the slight blush on color on her face as she pulled something from a drawer that was wrapped in a black bag. He grinned. "And how long am I going to have to wait?" Damn he wanted to know what it was now... the look on her face guaranteed it to be another one of her many surprises.
Just like that, she was ready to go and she said as much. Chase watched as she pulled on her jacket and shook his head. "You can't go anywhere like that, babe. I was wrapped to the nines and even I was freezing. The air is bitter out there. At the least you need hat and gloves." If it came to it, he'd willingly give her his own... He just kinda hoped she had her own to use. It really was bloody cold.

Emily looked at Chase before rolling her eyes and laughing at him, "You've read Mary Poppins? I love that book!" she said happily, "It's actually been turned into a film, it'd be fun if we could go and see it one day..." she said, wondering if Chase had in fact been to see a Muggle film, if not she really wanted to be the one to take him, show him just how fantastic Muggle's in fact where.
At the mention of his sister Emily smiled brightly, "Your little sister Risa if I remember correctly? I can't wait to meet her, she sounds adorable..." she said genuinely with a big smile, torn between being nervous and excited about meeting Chase's family, she just hoped they liked her.
"Tonight if your lucky enough, promise." she told him, shooting him a wink as she put away the bag. Biting down on her lip she smiled, having no doubt in her mind that Chase would in fact love it, she just hoped he liked her actual Christmas present for him just as much. After pulling on her jacket and announced she was ready to go, Emily was already pulling on a red beanie hat and pair of gloves shooting a smile at Chase's obvious concern, "Babe I'll be fine...we're going to Hogsmeade which shouldn't take long then flooing straight to your house."
At the mention of flooing, she shuddered slightly, dreading the experience. Walking over to Chase, she leaned down to press a kiss on his lips before she took his hands and tugged lightly hoping he'd stand. "Come on sweetie I want to get out of here...finally..." she pouted, making a mental note to write to her parents at some point later on, to let them know where she was. The last thing she wanted was the school worrying and in turn freaking out her parents.

Chase raised an eyebrow. "What's a film?" He had no doubts that it was some kind of muggle thing, but Chase wasn't completely in the know when it came to muggle things. If it hadn't been mentioned in muggle studies, chances were he didn't know what it was.
Emily smiled at the mention of Chase's sister and she remembered what Chase had told about her in passing conversation. "I'm sure she can't wait to meet you either. I just hope you can handle a 10 year old clinging onto your every word." Risa wasn't that bad, but she did like to look up to older girls as inspiration, and chances were Ris would look to Emily not just because she knew him, but also because Em was blond, and Risa liked anyone who was blond like she was.
Ah, secrets. There really must be something good hidden away in that little black bag she held. And if that wasn't enough, Emily winked and made clear he wasn't finding out just yet. Damn... there she went with the lip biting again... whatever was in that bag was bound to be good... "Promises, promises, babe." Chase grinned. All of a sudden he really couldn't wait for tonight. He had a few surprise ideas of his own since he had the house to himself to late on.
"The air is bitter out there. You'll be freezing in just that thin jacket." Even with hat and gloves... Chase had hat, scarf, gloves, winter coat, the lot, and he'd been frozen through. Even now he hadn't fully chased the chill away.
Well... at least with the broom things should be a little bit quicker than if they were walking it. And, if she was cold, he'd just have every excuse to warm her up, wouldn't he? A slow grin spread across his face as he thought of it. He wouldn't press the matter any further.
Chase was still sitting on her bed when she walked back over to him, kissing him before tugging his hands. He stood willingly, with a bit of a grin. "Eager much?" He stuck his tongue out at her. Eager was better than reluctant. He hadn't thought it would be so easy to convince her back to his.
Wrapping his arms around her waist he took a few seconds just to kiss her again, then sent her a lopsided smile. He headed back over to the bed he'd dumped his cold things on and starting putting them back on, leaving the scarf off. When he was set, he headed back to Emily and hung the scarf around her neck. She could do what she wanted with it - wear it and keep warm or leave it and stay cold. Just so long as she didn't get too cold. He grinned and grabbed the broom. "Ready to fly?"

"I promise it'll be will be worth the wait...at least I hope..." she chuckled, knowing he really wanted to see what was in the bag. Chances were he'd love it, at least she hoped, though now she came to think about it tonight may not be too appropriate. There was no doubt in her mind they'd be sleeping in separate rooms which kind of put a damper on the small surprise she had. Maybe it'd have to wait, she didn't mind, she had after all been planning on giving him it after Christmas. "Though now I think about it, we'll be in separate rooms...puts a damper on things..." she chuckled she was after all determined to respect whatever rules his parents gave them.
"Well I have you to keep me warm...plus we're only going to Hogsmeade babe." she said with a smile, knowing by the slow forming grin on his face that he had been thinking something along the same lines. Rolling her eyes she laughed lightly and shook her head. Tugging him up she stuck out her own tongue, "I'd just like to get out of here before my room mates arrive back..." she replied to him with a smile, not sure she could be bothered answering not only questions about where she was going, but also getting reprimanded for allowing a boy into the dorm.
Chase wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed a kiss to her lips, making her momentarily forget about wanting to leave, though when he pulled away she sighed, narrowing her eyes at the lopsided smile he gave her. "Stop kissing me...it's distracting..." she joked, crossing her arms as Chase began to put his outdoor wear back on. Though instead of putting his scarf on he wrapped it around her neck, "Aw your just get cuter and cuter..." she teased, grabbing the lapels of his jacket and pulling herself up onto her tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips, breaking her own rule about no kissing.
When he grabbed the broom she frowned, her eyes darting to the window. "Out the window? Seriously...we could...you know...out the window?" she asked a bit unsure as she bit down on her lip. Holding her breath she walked over to the window, opened it and looked down, "You sure you don't just want me to meet you outside?" she asked with a small nervous laugh as she turned around to face him, wringing her hands together a little. Heights she was okay with, though heights whilst being on a broom, yes, that made her a little bit nervous.

Chase made no comment about the separate rooms thing, and he had no intention of mentioning anything to do with it even when he got home. Hopefully, if nothing was said or anything then his parents - or more specifically his mother - wouldn't think to say anything to specify that they were supposed to be in separate rooms... hopefully...
Chase shrugged at her comment about only going to the village. He liked the way she was thinking as it matched his own thoughts, but he did fight to keep the grin of his face and look quite nonchalant when he responded. "Fair enough. But don't say I didn't warn you how cold it is."
Allowing himself to be tugged upright he grinned as she stuck her tongue out, making a motion as if to bite, clicking his teeth together loudly and chuckling.
"Which room mates are you stuck with?" Since signing up to say that he would be going home for the holidays, Chase hadn't paid any attention to who was staying or going. If he wanted/needed to know then he asked the person directly, he didn't go reading it off a list somewhere.
Moving away to get his coat and stuff on, Emily made a comment to him about kissing and being a distraction. He just grinned and laughed, glancing over at her. "The kissings' not distracting. You are the distraction because you're so kissable." When he was with her he wanted nothing more than to just pull her close and never let her go, to drift off into their own little bubble of a world where no one else existed and they didn't have to worry about anything anymore.
After wrapping the scarf loosely around her neck she was the one who kissed him and he only let her kiss him for a second before pulling back from her and grinning down at her. "Stop kissing me. It's distracting." He quoted her words back at her with a wink before moving to the window and picking up the borrowed broom.
Chase nodded. "Yep. Out the window. I'm leaving the same way I came in and I'm taking you with me. Kidnapping you. We'll even leave the window wide open so that Red Riding Hood and the Skunk know that you've been stolen from under their fingertips." He had no idea why he called them that, but it was amusing to watch the look on Emily's face as she twigged on to who he was referring to.
Emily had already opened the window and Chase just grinned at her before climbing onto the window ledge, broom still in hand. "You're not scared of heights. The girl who I met sitting and dangling over the school roof has no reason to be scared of a window in a tower that isn't anywhere near the height of the roof."
He laughed and looked as if he was just standing there winding her up, but he stepped backwards, knowing that it would take him over the edge and start him plunging downwards. He didn't let himself fall far but the thrill of it was enough to get his blood pumping before he swung the broom under him and looped up to the window, laughing, the shot of adrenaline still pulsing through him.
He didn't choose to play quidditch for the team or anything, but that didn't mean he didn't know his way around a broom. His dad had made sure of that when he was younger. Chase wasn't the biggest fan of the sport itself but broomwork? That was different.
"Climb on, babe."

"Stop kissing me. It's distracting."
Emily rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at Chase as he quoted her own words back at her. "You shouldn't be so kissable then should you!" she said, quoting his words back at him like he'd done with hers. Smiling she wrapped the scarf around her neck a little better before finally looking back up at him. "They're names are Lily and Alice, Mr Connors...be nice..." she said to him replying to his nicknames for her dorm friends, and at the same time battling an amused smile. Shaking her head she looked away from him and crossed her arms over her chest.
He climbed onto the window ledge with a familiar grin that made her smile as well. "I'm not scared of heights babe, I just hate flying...last time I tried I fell off the broom and landed myself in the hospital wing for a week." she said to him, grimacing slightly when she remembered the first time she'd tried flying in first year, as you could imagine she hadn't dared do it again. As she made to move towards Chase though he stepped backwards and vanished, falling away from the tower window.
Emily gasped in shock as her hands quickly shot up, covering her face. She could hear his familiar laughter so knew he was okay and it was only after several long seconds she dared to peer through her fingers, her eyes narrowing when she saw him and he asked her to climb on to the broom. "Your not exactly selling the idea of flying to me you...!" she growled, letting her hands drop back to her sides a cross look on her face, one she couldn't pretend to keep on for much longer.
Rolling her eyes she sighed and stepped over to the window, reaching out to swat him across the arm. "Don't do that again...and don't let me fall..." she said in a slightly questioning manner. Not looking down she ducked her head out the window and quickly climbed onto the broom in the space behind Chase. She didn't dare breath till she locked her arms around him, her palms flattening over his stomach, "Lets go then..." she grumbled, burying her face into Chase's shoulder, so she didn't have to look at anything. It was strange, heights she didn't mind but she hated brooms with a vengeance, the sooner they got to Hogsmeade the better, till then she wasn't daring to open her eyes.

Chase had no idea what Emily's first reaction to seeing him vanish over the edge was, but he was pretty sure that it would have been amusing as hell to see her face at that moment. When he flew back up level with the window itself, he couldn't help but laugh. Emily stood, shoulders hunches, hands covering her face. She slowly peeked through her fingers and he chose that moment to tell her to climb on, acting as if nothing had just happened.
Chase could only fight to hold in his laughter while she growled, unsure what name to call him at that moment, then reluctantly came closer to the window.
"I won't let you fall. If you don't trust me, stick yourself to the broom." Sticking charms... Every parents first rule of flying when you were a kid... Chase remembered them well. He just grinned at her and reached out a hand to help her out. Emily climbed onto the broom behind him, arms locking tightly around his waist and face buried in his shoulder. Once again, he had to fight not to laugh.
Chase maneuvered them a short distance away from the window before Emily could even think about closing it behind her. It looked like it was just about to start snowing again. They might as well leave behind a little evidence of their exit... in the form of a freezing cold dorm room and hopefully, a nice drift of snow. Chase grinned at the idea.
"Ready?"
He set off slowly, circling wide so that, instead of a sheer drop to the ground, he could circle them down slowly. It would take longer and ultimately be colder, but there was less need to steep declines. And considering how she already held him in a death grip, Chase didn't think he could cope with her squeezing much tighter.
Chase flew them close to the grounds in order to fly out of the school gates. He'd learned long ago that attempting to fly over them could be a nasty experience. Once through though, he picked up a bit of speed. He still flew close to the ground since the streets were practically deserted. In this weather, he didn't blame everyone for wanting to stay indoors somewhere warmer. He'd be happy to get inside somewhere warm himself.
Landing outside the Three Broomsticks, Chase nudged Emily to put her feet on the ground, and also to release her hold on him a little. Smiling at her as he slid of the broom, he grabbed one hand and tugged her with him, wasting no time in getting inside. The crowd was as thick as it was when he first got there, and it still stank. He could see Madam Rosemerta at the bar and fought his way through the crowd towards her. She didn't seem overly busy despite the crowd.
"Rosie-My-Merta!" He grinned, raising his voice to be heard. It was a nickname that Lachie had made up at the start of last year and it had kind of stuck. "Couldn't do me a huge favor could you and look after this broom till I can return it to the school?" He gave her a pout, edged with a grin, and knew that she wouldn't take long to cave. She took the broom from him and told him not to forget it, and not to get into mischief. "Me? Would I!?" He laughed. "Cheers. You're a doll."
With another grin, Chase fought the way though the crowd, Emily's hand still held tightly in his and he aimed for the fireplace. Now, to floo home. With a grin, he turned to look at Emily. "You ready?"
