The day had been chaos. Absolute bloody chaos. She'd managed to get her essay in on time to Professor Slughorn after the extension he'd handed her, and not only that, but she was pretty pleased with how it had turned out. It wasn't like Dorcas to be able to make up a good essay on anything, but somehow, she'd managed to complete the essay for Slughorn with a whole eighteen inches more than required. Not only that but her hand writing had stayed steady, it was entirely legible and her hand writing was small. She was hoping for a damn good grade on it and wanting it back so she could frame the damn thing. Though the only problem with having done such a long essay in two days and handing it in when your Professor wasn't used to that kind of work from you, was that there was always the chance he'd want to talk to you about it, make sure that it was in fact your own work other wise, BAM! Fail! And she could not afford to lose that 5% the essay was worth for her final OWL results.
Pushing her way into the crowded common room, Dorcas looked out to discover that night had fallen already. She looked at the large clock that their common room housed and realised it was nearly ten at night. What the hell? Where had time gone? Surely the clock was wrong. It had to be, so she grabbed hold of a fourth year as he pushed past her and looked at the watch on his left wrist. Oh! The clock was fast, by thirty seconds! Merlin, she had no idea what she had been doing. Working on more of her essays, shouting at brats in the library, some of which she could see now, pointing at her and laughing. Man sometimes she wished she'd been more focused in school work and become a damned Prefect because then she could put their arses in detention for as long as she damn well pleased. Keep them coming back night after night until they bowed down at her feet. Dorcas shook her head. Whatever, she was getting out of here.
Walking casually upstairs to her dorm she dumped her bag on her trunk and collapsed on her bed. Now she thought about it, she found herself actually quite tired. She yawned and water filled her eyes. She blinked it all away and turned on her side, yawning again and keeping her eyes closed. She wasn't even going to bother getting undressed, she was actually too tired to bother doing anything. How had she not realised this earlier? How had she not fallen asleep in the library or - CRASH!
Dorcas rolled over, groaning at the noise of chattering girls coming in through the dorm door, not bothering to keep it down, not caring that she was there. trying to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a Saturday so it didn't matter if they stayed up late, gossiping about anyone and everyone tonight, even her. They knew she wasn't asleep and yet most of them gossiped away regardless. Whatever, she wasn't standing for this, so she got up and headed downstairs to the common room again, deciding it was still too busy, she went out the the common room door, not wanting to stay there any longer. She couldn't stand most of her dorm mates when they got to chattering and she was trying to sleep, but who could blame her? Sleep was a sort of priority when you didn't get much through the week.
Roaming the corridors Dorcas found herself near the Duelling classroom, she didn't bother to go in because really there was no need, she was aimlessly wondering and so she was quite content just passing by the classrooms listening carefully though, she could hear something, she just couldn't make out if it was coming from ahead, or behind.

Scar was in the mood to do something fun. The night was still young, she wasn’t loaded down with a lot of homework and she felt like she was on fire, burning for something to do. Something that would keep her occupied for a little while. It seemed that those moods seemed to come and go these days; never really sticking. But right now, she felt like she was going to seize the moment and just go out and have a good time. Unfortunately for her, she had gotten lost.
It wasn’t that she didn’t know how to navigate around Hogwarts. It was the fact that she had found a small mouse and followed it through the halls for a little while. That had been in the basement. After it had ducked into a small hole in the wall, she had given up on ever finding it again. Plus, if she had caught it, she wasn’t sure what she would have done...Played with it? Caught it? She bit down on her lip, completely unsure of what she was actually supposed to be doing. And then of course, she had gotten distracted by something Peeves was doing and had to chase him up three flights of stares before she batted her eyelashes at him and begged that he show her where a secret passage was. Unfortunately for Scar Blackwood, ghosts seemed oblivious to her charm.
After that encounter, she had just began walking aimlessly. Hence being lost. Mentally, she was a goner, walking purely out of instinct. Her feet carried her through the halls at a moderate pace, only pausing when she ventured too far to the left and nearly hit the corner of a wall.
That’s when she saw her. Out of the corner of her eye, she recognized the Ravenclaw robed girl as her childhood friend, Dorcas. She felt herself begin to smile as she walked forward. But then she remembered; she had long since burned that bridge with constant rumors about her and Lance. She bit down on her lip, slightly embarrassed. Then she shook her head, it was a long time ago, what were the odds that she was still holding onto that grudge anyways? With a deep breath, she pushed forward and stopped a few feet in front of her, ”Hey there, Dork.”
[/b] Scar said and mentally slapped herself. If she was trying to mend a friendship, that was probably not the way to do it...calling her names would only get her scolded and perhaps in more trouble than she had been. ”How’re...you?”[/b] Scar felt some of her excitement slip out and she realized that she was practically pressing into the girl’s personal space. Also, that probably wasn’t going to help matters. She quickly took a step back and then leaned against the wall opposite Dorcas.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Dorcas continued on her way very slowly when eventually she saw a figure coming into view. The noise had obviously been coming ahead of her and whomever this person was had to have been the cause of the footstep noises Dorcas had been hearing, unless there was someone else about, someone perhaps behind her? Dorcas looked over her shoulder for a couple of seconds before looking back to the person approaching her.
It was like a lead balloon had dropped in her stomach. Just perfect. Pushed out of her dorm by some inconsiderate friends and now her? Just fantastic. What luck did Dorcas ever have of having just a quiet evening? None it seemed. Dorcas just hoped that Scar passed her by, there was no need for them to talk. Unless Scar was a prefect and wanting to dish out a few detentions and point losses. No, Scar wasn't a prefect. That was Narcissa Black in the Slytherin house 5thyears. Unless there had been a change of appointments for some strange reason.
Whatever was happening Dorcas just decided to try and walk past Scar and let her carry on her own way and she hoped Scar would extend Dorcas the same courtesy ... Apparently not. The Slytherin was wanting to talk. This night could not get any worse. Well actually it could. Apparently not only did Scar decided she wanted to chat like nothing had every happened and they were the best of friends again, but she decided to get up nice and close and personal before leaning against a wall. Dorcas tucked a strand of loose hair behind her right ear and proceeded in folding her arms as she watched Scar, just leaning against that wall. Was this some sort of intimidation method that Dorcas was unaware of? Was Scar being genuine? Was she digging after more things to spread rumours about? Dorcas had no idea what the other girl was playing at but she wouldn't bend to her games.
Dorcas eyed Scar suspiciously as she spoke, "I've been fine Scarlet. Now what do you want?" Dorcas was a little snippy and just wanted to get this encounter over and done with, find out just what exactly Scar was up to and perhaps, maybe just strike it lucy and get away from the evil little witch before Dorcas got tempted to through a few hexes in her direction. Scar was not Dorcas' favourite person and it was all Scar's own fault. Dorcas wasn't sure she could ever forgive Scar for all those rumours she'd spread and Dorcas was certain that there were more out there that she hadn't yet heard but she would learn of them all over time.

Scarlet nearly bit through her tongue when Dorcas used her full-name. No one really dared to call her that, not since an incident in her second year where she had hexed one of the other Slytherin girls into a bathroom because they called her Scarlet as some sort of a pet-name. f she remembered correctly, it was the Carrow twin. But she couldn’t be quite sure. Unfortunately for her, there was a rather blood thirsty fight and the pair of them ended up with singed hair and large amount of bumps and bruises. Carrow got the worst of it, though, ending up with puss-filled boils all over that pig-face of hers. She opened her mouth for some sort of retaliation, but the voice in the back of her head urged against it.
”Ouch-”
[/b] Scar said as she twirled a strand of brown hair around her finger as she spoke. She carefully pursed her lips together. If she wanted to rebuild this bridge, it was going to take a lot of time and perhaps a little bit of magic. She smiled at the thought; good thing she went to a school filled practically to the Astronomy tower with magic, ”First things first, I think it’s about time you called me Scar, lovely.”[/b] Her voice came through clenched teeth and she realized that she was struggling to control that nasty temper of hers. Normally such a sweet and understanding girl, Scar could turn lethal in a moment if she was provoked. Dorcas, of course, knew this. They had grown up together. Playing in the mud, throwing rocks, illegally practicing magic in the backyard when they thought that no one was watching. She felt her body beginning to relax, giving her the sign that she was alright to proceed with the conversation as long as she paid careful attention to everything that she was saying, ’Mend the bridge, Scar...’ She urged herself as she stared at Dorcas. She felt slightly awkward again, like a small kid begging her parents forgiveness for destroy the priceless family heirloom. ”I think-”[/b] Scar paused for a moment and looked up at Dorcas. She hadn’t been expecting the look of hostility that seemed etched in the girls face and she took an involuntary step backwards. When her heel hit the wall behind her, she realized that there was no place left for her to go and she was stuck now. This was what she had wanted all along, right? ”I think that it’s about time that we talked about what happened between us.”[/b] Scar pipped up and raised her finger to silence any interjection that Dorcas was about to make, ”I know that we’ve had a bit of a falling out and I just wanted to say that I miss you.”[/b] She said as genuinely as possible. After all these years, Dorcas couldn’t possibly still be mad at her. In her defense, Scar never thought that she lied about the rumors. That wasn’t her fault. She had seen all the signs and just decided that the world probably deserved to know about her brother and Dorcas Meadows. And how happy the world had been! The entire Hogwarts community buzzed with the rumors of Lancas/Dorce when Scar had started those rumors in their third year. ”Who could resist this face?”[/b] She said and flashed her one of her signature grins and winks. The pair of them were different as different could be, Scar could see it more clearly now that they hadn’t spoken in a while. It was so amazing to her to think that the two of them used to be so close and now...well, now they were nothing more than two people that were constantly avoiding one another in the hallways.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

Scar or Scarlet as Dorcas also knew her, hated her name. It was common knowledge to call her Scar and Scar alone but Dorcas had issues with her childhood friend and so she felt getting a little dig in at her was only fair at the moment. Well not entirely true. What Dorcas thought would be fair was ripping Scar's hair out fistful at a time but that was probably a little too excessive at the moment considering she hadn't done anything in particular to provoke such an attack, well apart from approaching and talking to Dorcas of course.
Dorcas was about to yell at Scar when she took a deep breath. Her childhood friend was talking still and Dorcas really wanted to hear just exactly what it was she thought she could say to the Ravenclaw. They hadn't talked in what, two years almost? Why did Scar all of a sudden want to become friends again? Dorcas didn't know and didn't care. Scar couldn't be trusted and she proved that. If Dorcas took a chance on her again she knew she'd be the one that would end up hurt yet again. She would be the one that had rumours spreading about her throughout the entire castle. Dorcas had been humiliated. She did have a small crush on Lance when they were younger but it wasn't anything Dorcas had actually expressed and it wasn't something she appreciated having spread around the school. All though it wasn't exactly a crush Scar had spread the rumour about, it was more an actual sort of relationship. Dorcas, since then, had heard all sorts of twists and variations on the original rumour. Her favourite was that they were planning on getting married while they were still at Hogwarts. One, they had been thirteen at the time and two, Dorcas was pretty sure Lance wasn't into her in that sort of way. She could have been mistaken sure but now she'd never have the chance to actually find out, all thanks to Scar, her supposed friend.
"So friends? You and me? You want us to be friends again? Is that what you're getting at?" Dorcas spoke softly and blinked a couple of times. Dorcas was known for holding grudges against people that had done her wrong and a friend betraying her was massively wrong in her books. She looked at Scar's face. She was very attractive and any sort of boy would simply melt before her, do anything for her, but Dorcas wasn't a boy and she wasn't a fool. Dorcas had no idea what Scar was up to but she was entirely suspicious. It wouldn't surprise her if Scar was plotting another big rumour.
"You're crazy. Why in hell would I want to be friends with the likes of you? You're a deceitful, insecure little liar that ruined our friendship and I don't care why you did it all I know is you did and that I'm done with you." Dorcas stood in front of Scar and folded her arms. "Why don't you just go back to your dorm where you belong and leave me the hell alone." It wasn't an actual question, it was more a suggestion that Dorcas wished she would take up on. Dorcas didn't need any more irritations for tonight.

The soft tone of Dorcas’ voice was exactly what Scar wanted to hear. Was it possible that the girl was going to give her a second chance. She grinned from ear to ear, ”Yes, friends is exactly what I mean to-” But the girl cut her off with a look of disgust. She felt the smile dripping off her face like melted ice cream. And then Dorcas was off again, practically cutting into Scar in whatever way she could.
Oh yes. The girl was most definitely still mad at her after all these years. That one was for sure.
She opened her mouth a few times to interject, but it just seemed as if she wasn’t going to get a word in edge-wise while Dorcas was on her little rampage. Deceitful. Insecure. Liar. Scar took a moment to evaluate each of the insults that Dorcas threw at her. Deceitful? Sure. She could roll with that one, after all, she was good at hiding things from everyone one else when she wanted to. And Dorcas was probably referring to the countless times she had said to her face that she hadn’t been the one to start those rumors. Right, so Dorcas was absolutely correct on accusing her of being deceitful. Her mind moved on to the next criteria. Insecure. Now that one she wasn’t about to take, ”I’ll have you know that I have never been insecure in my life. I wish you’d stop projecting your emotions on to me. You always used to do that.” She growled low and clenched up her fists. Now that Dorcas had provoked her, she was liable to become a little more dangerous. This was something that she had picked up from Lance. Growing up with such an abrasive brother rubbed off on her sometimes. As for being a liar, the last statement Dorcas had made, Scar was a little put off as well, ”I never lied.” She countered as she looked at her ex-friend.
Lance and Dorcas had had something during that summer, Scar knew all about it. But she also knew that she may have stretched the truth a little bit so that she could get more attention. It wasn’t her fault. It was just the way that her mind worked. Dorcas had to know what an attention-hog she had always been, right?
She narrowed her eyes at the suggestion that Scar leave and go back to her dorm where she belonged, ”You can leave too, you know. You don’t just have to stand there pretending to be victimized.” She scoffed and then returned Dorcas’ gesture of folding her arms across her chest. It was a regular old stand-off it appeared, ”You always were pathetic.” The words slipped out of her mouth before she knew that she had said them and she realized too late that she was perhaps stomping all over the burned bridge rather than trying to repair it. She was going to need to take a serious lesson on learning how to mend friendships because she was most definitely not doing it right.

Dorcas made a scoffing noise and folded her arms. Did she think that little dig was going to get to Dorcas? Pathetic? She was the one that was pathetic and Dorcas, being one to rant, was now in a very ranty mood and Scar was going to be the lucky one to receive the brewing concoction of words that were bombarding Dorcas' brain.
"Never insecure? My emotions? I'm pathetic? Who's self projecting now? Why would you spread filthy lies, yes Scar, lies, if you weren't insecure about how dull and uninteresting your own life is? You've always been this way, you've always had to be the centre of attention. Newsflash Scar, the world doesn't revolve around you and your gossip." Dorcas and Scar were two completely different people, there was no denying it any more, sure they both liked a bit of attention but they both went about getting it in very different ways and Dorcas did not approve of the ways Scar liked to get attention but she wasn't in her life any more, she had no right to tell her these things but there was nothing that stopped her from thinking it.
"If you really wanted to be my friend again this wasn't the way of going about it." The two girls had been almost the best of friends at one point in their live but things had changed so drastically when Scar had started spreading gossip about Dorcas and Lance she'd gone too far with her attention seeking ways. "Usually apologies work a lot better than hurling insults. Though of course if we argue loud enough there might be cause for a prefect to come running to check out all the commotion and then maybe you'd get a detention and people will talk about for all of five minutes before they move on to someone else that probably isn't worth the bother either." Dorcas was getting pissed at Scar but at the same time she wanted an explanation, reasons as to why Scar said those things she said. They'd never talked about it before and Dorcas had heard so many things but surely Scar couldn't have spread them all? She wouldn't have, would she? "Why in the hell did you even bother spreading all that crap in the first place?"

Dorcas had always talked a little bit too much for Scar’s taste. As much as she appreciated the girl’s smarts, there was no way that she could focus through her entire lecture on projecting and insecurity. She zoned out for a couple of moments, thinking about the upcoming Quidditch match that she needed to practice for, then about the fact that she had a tutoring session that she was going to be late for tomorrow because she had Quidditch practice and -
”Yes it does. Oh ho ho, yes. It does,”
[/b] She said and drew her eyebrows together into a tight-knit furrow. She couldn’t deny that she loved being the center of attention, but it wasn’t just that. The entire Slytherin gossip surrounded Scar and the rumors that she spread. It was completely unfair that Dorcas said that it didn’t. She wouldn’t know, she wasn’t a Slytherin and she sure as hell didn’t hang around Slytherins, ”I’ll have you know that everyone in the dungeons thinks I should write a column for the Hogwarts newspaper.”[/b] She was pretty sure that there was no school newspaper, but the prospect of it was interesting enough. Everyone thought that Scar always had the most interesting stuff to report, and Dorcas and Lance had just been one of those things. Sure, she might have exaggerated it a little bit, but it had to be done. The world had to know! She bit down on her lip when she announced this wasn’t the way to get her friendship back, ”I -”[/b] She was at a loss for a moment. She wasn’t sure how this conversation had turned so ill-fated all of a sudden, but it seemed as if nothing she said was going to get through to her ex-best friend. She knew why she had spread it. She had always known. But she wasn’t sure that Dorcas would want to know, ”I would just like to let you know that it actually had nothing to do with you. Heartbreaking, isn’t it?”[/b] She probed and then folded her arms across her chest. She leaned against the cool stone wall and rolled her eyes. She knew that Dorcas was a sucker for attention just as much as she was: knowing that the rumors weren’t started because of her would surely make her angry. Or at least a little peeved, ”Lance was being an arse like always and-”[/b] She pushed her hand through her hair and then let it fall messily over her eyes, ”I just sort of snapped. I started spreading the rumors to his so called friends and it just spiraled from there. Before I knew what happened-”[/b] Her eyes lit up ever so slightly, just enough to let on that gossip truly excited her beyond anything else in the world, ”You two were the talk of the castle. And I was practically a celebrity myself for getting the scoop.”[/b] It had been the turning point in her life as a Slytherin. She was shunned until that day. Most of the Slytherins thought that she was weird for being so accepting of everyone, they hated being seen with her and called her Blood traitor. But after she began circulating rumors, she gained a new-found respect amongst the House of Salazar. It was amazing really. The only bad part was she had sacrificed her friendship with one of the most amazing people she had ever met for mere acceptance amongst a bunch of blood-elitists...probably not her smartest move.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Dorcas was taken back and forgot to breathe. Only for a moment but the shock was apparent all over her face when Scar had finished speaking. Dorcas did love attention and truthfully the fact that the whole school had been talking about her was a bit of a buzz. It wasn't the way she would have liked and she was still pissed at Scar for spreading lies but really it wasn't as bad as Dorcas made it out to be. She just wished Scar had gone about it all in a different way, she just wished that Scar had talked to her about it, better yet spread gossip about someone else maybe, someone that deserved to be talked about for something they'd actually done.
"So you did it to get back at Lance and just decided to drag me into it for Merlin know's why? Why couldn't you have spread it about Lance and someone else?" Dorcas didn't know why Scar had to forsake their friendship, clearly at the time Dorcas hadn't meant as much to her as Scar had to Dorcas. "Why not just spread the rumour he'd been born an hermaphrodite or something. Your his sister, people would have believed you if you'd said it seriously enough or subtly in conversation, why try and ruin my life too?" Dorcas did have a tendency to over dramatise things sometimes and what had happened was no exception, not then and not now, but what teenage girl, that loved attention, didn't over dramatise things in their life just a little incy bit?
Dorcas unfolded her arms, she placed her right hand on her hip and let her left one dangle. She slowly wondered where she and Scar would have been now if Scar had made up a different rumour, if Dorcas had handled it better, if she and Lance were a couple. Would they still be friends? Would they be the very best of friends? Dorcas sort of wished that she knew, wished they'd had a chance to find out but there was no point in ever knowing really, she'd probably just get upset and overdramatic about what should have been. It was hard losing a friend because the so called friend just so happened to be a liar as well and it was even harder when you'd been friends for so many years, Dorcas barely had any childhood memories that didn't involve Scar.

Dorcas seemed so obviously shocked by the whole thing, which threw Scar for a bit of a loop as well. She had surmised that the girl had figured it out forever ago and had still been mad at her because - well because she could. Scarlet never imagined that she thought she was spreading rumors just to upset her and ruin the friendship that they had forged from their very childhood. Why would Scar purposely sabotage the relationship that they had had for over 10 years? It had always been about Lance. Always. Lance and his stupid manipulation; Scarlet was finally getting back at him for what he had done to her.
Scar rolled her eyes; Dorcas was so obviously missing the point that she was trying to make here, ”It wouldn’t have bothered him if it was about anyone else. It had to be you,”
[/b] She answered truthfully and then raised an eyebrow, hoping that would make it more clear to Dorc. Scar was pretty positive that Lance had had a crush on Dorcas since the day that Scarlet and she had become best friends during their childhood. He was always following them around, trying to get in on the little games that they were playing and Scarlet knew that it wasn’t about her, his own sister. It was about the pretty brunette witch that always came over to play. Lance had a thing for her and he was awful at hiding it, ”Lance was head over heels for you since the moment you showed up at our doorstep.”[/b] She feigned a gag and then managed a small, semi-awkward laugh. Scar had of course seen Lance’s weakness and attacked it. In the process ruining her friendship with her darling Dorcas. ”Also, for the record-”[/b] She felt a small smile playing at the corner of her lips as she spoke the next sentence, ”I did start the rumor that he was a hermaphrodite.”[/b] That rumor hadn’t gone over so well since Lance had decided that he wanted to expose himself to the entire Slytherin House one evening when he was a little inebriated. That had basically ruined any chance she had at making that rumor stick. So she had moved on to the Dorcas crush rumors. ”C’mon, Dorc.”[/b] Scar said and practically got down on her knees in front of the girl. She could see that Dorcas had taken a more defensive stance, hand on her hip, slightly glaring. She offered her another timid smile, hoping that she could break through the walls that Dorcas had built up against her, but somehow feeling like it was a lost cause. She knew her ex-friend was very adamant about being scorned...and she feared that she may have scorned her a little too much to repair.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Had to be her? Dorcas hardly thought so. It could have been any other girl, a Slytherin in their year would have worked, maybe the year above even, someone he would have seen a little more than her. Heck even a muggle born would have been more scandalous but Dorcas stayed and listened to Scar's reasoning and Dorcas felt hurt all over again. Lance had liked her? Dorcas had liked him and had always wondered if the feeling would be mutual or unrequited but she'd never had a chance to find out, Scar had ruined it all and now she was telling Dorcas this? How could Dorcas even begin to believe Scar after the lies she'd told? It wasn't as though Dorcas didn't want to, she just couldn't trust Scar.
"Merlin's sake Scar, pull yourself together would you." Dorcas stared intensely at the girl, so much so that everything else around her was blackened out. Dorcas' focus was solely on someone that had been her friend a long time ago. "You're delusional as well as a liar, and even if you're not delusional, we'll never know now how Lance really felt and if anything could ever have happened." Dorcas lowered her hand and started walking down the corridor, passing by Scar, her attempts at a smile were no way near enough to get Dorcas to forgive her.
Dorcas' shoes softly thudded on the stone floor as she went on her way. She had no idea if Scar would try and follow her or if this had just been some crazy attention seeking trick or just a chance at more gossip. There was very little that Dorcas wouldn't put past Scar and another gossip scoop was something she believed Scar entirely capable of right now. Once someone had given Dorcas reason to distrust them, it was very hard to gain that trust back and if Scar ever really wanted it and wasn't just making up conversation to make another corridor passing less awkward then she was going to have to try a lot harder than the stunt she'd pulled tonight and if this was Scar's attempt at making things less awkward, she'd surely failed drastically.

Scar cursed herself under her breath when Dorcas told her to pull herself together. It appeared that the girl’s stone walls wouldn’t be broken by her mere pleading like they used to be able to. She was going to have to try a lot harder to make things right between them if she truly valued Dorcas Meadow’s friendship. Which, of course, she knew that she had and always would, ”I’m a mess without you, Dorc.”
[/b] She said, trying her hand at humor again, offering her statement of regret in more of a sing-songy tone than normal. Scar was fully aware that her song-voice was nothing to be proud of, in fact, it regularly made people go running in the opposite direction. But then she walked right by her, as if nothing had happened. Scar felt a little bit of anger bubble up, but she was careful to keep it in check. She was the one who had done wrong. She had to remember that. If she was going to keep trying to get on Dorc’s good-side, then she would have to finally take accountability for her actions, ”Dorcas, wait!”[/b] She called, but the girl just kept on walking as if Scar was another crack in the tile that didn’t deserve a second look. Had she really stooped that low to deserve this? She couldn’t be entirely sure. She hadn’t even spread lies...just truths that she had blow out of proportion. ”You could always just ask him yourself,”[/b] Scar suggested as she pulled herself from her knees and walked after the Ravenclaw girl. She followed the sound of her footsteps against the stone tiles until she caught up with her. She was sure that Lance would tell the truth if Dorcas asked him. Lance may have always been manipulative and awful, but he had always had a soft spot for Dorcas. One that Scar had always found amusing to bring up in casual conversation throughout the years, ”You know, ask Lance how he really felt about you.”[/b] She said as she brushed past Dorcas and retreated toward the Slytherin common room. There would be another chance for her to talk to Dorcas again soon. There had to be. Because Scar Blackwood fully intended to repair the damage that she had caused all those years ago. She was going to get Dorcas Meadows to forgive her if it was the last thing that she did.[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Dorcas just kept on walking. She continued listening to Scar as she talked. She was a mess? It hardly seemed so. She looked good, she'd had plenty of friends to keep happy since she'd decide to ditch Dorcas because that was what she had essentially done, she'd dumped her as a friend to make new ones. As for asking Lance, Dorcas wasn't sure she had the guts to really ask him. She'd never thought that Lance had fancied her, she'd always thought Lance was just thinking of her as a friend, maybe even another sister because she was over so often, hanging around with Scar so much but Dorcas' hopes were up. Maybe Lance did like her, still liked her! It was then her heart sank again this evening. Why would he still like her? If he even did in the first place. They weren't the same people and Dorcas had ignored Lance for the last couple of years so she doubted they knew one another at all. He probably didn't want anything to do with her.
Dorcas watched Scar's back as she walked away. What had she been playing at tonight? Was she just trying to mess with Dorcas' mind? If so she'd succeeded. Dorcas had so many questions chasing through her mind. She really wanted to speak to Lance now but she was too scared not to mention curfew was about to kick in. Maybe she'd speak to him tomorrow. Yeah probably not. Dorcas just kept on, heading back to the common room all the while thinking of everything Scar had said and mentally kicking herself for even contemplating talking to Lance again.
