Visitor (Remus) - Complete

Ferret looked at Remus before nuzzling his neck more. "She can't Remus. She can't hurt me or anyone else ant more." She pressed her lips to his neck, trying to keep him calmed.

Though she was flattered that Remus wanted to protect her, and all though she loved the idea and the idea that he cared about her enough to want to do so, he scared her sometimes. Not with his wolf side, she had proved that didn't scare her. But the fact that some of the people he wanted to protect her from were older, more powerful wizards.

She knew Remus was strong, he was brave and he was smart. But the idea of him trying to protect her from someone that caused the Ministry of Magic to come and take him away from her, terrified her.

She would be crushed if she ever lost him.

Taking a deep breath, she tightened her grip on him, almost afraid to let go and have him disappear.

Ferret smiled as her boyfriend kissed her, smiling against his kiss. "No one could replace you Remus. Never ever."

Remus smiled gladly and nuzzled Ferret back. "And I am very thankful for it. And in the end, you're okay, and so nothing else matters." The touch of Ferret's lips helped him to regain control of himself and push down the feelings of rage, focusing instead on the prospect of a date with his beautiful girlfriend on a wonderful day.

Remus felt Ferret pull him closer and smelt a sudden whiff of fear in her scent, and so he pulled her to him and tightened his arms around her wordlessly, kissing her comofortably on the crown of her head.

"I could say the exact same of you." Remus smiled, lowering his face to her shoulder and nuzzling into her neck. "You may be my first girlfriend, but after you I don't know if I ever want anyone else again." He gave her a quick kiss then pulled back with a cheeky grin. "No one else would have Jasper and I'd miss him too much."

Ferret chuckled softly, nuzzling his neck. "That's a wonderful thing to hear," she said giggling. "I won't let you go without a fight."

'I love you...'

Ferret wanted to say those words but it was too soon. Far too soon. They had been together for only two months, less than actually. Telling him that she couldn't see herself with out him now, she didn't want to be with anyone but him, it was too soon.

The girl gently hit her boyfriend's chest but smiled as they walked into the elevator. She pushed the top floor button and leaned her head on her boyfriend's shoulder as the elevator began to move. "Should I be jealous of my own ferret?"

"I'd never let you go without a fight either." He almost blurted it out, almost opened his mouth and just said it, but Remus knew it was a bad idea. Was it too soon - he didn't know but Ferret probably thought so. She'd been hurt in her attempts to find love before and so he would be patient and take his time and do things right.

Even if seeing her still so strong and smiling even in this hospital after her breakdown and being harassed by that horrible woman when she was vulnerable just made him want to wrap her in his arms and litter her face with kisses and make her know how much he loved her.

Remus faked his usual wince as Ferret struck him on the chest, smiling gently at her as they entered the elevator. "Not at all. As much as we like each other, we both like you much more." Remus grinned and smirked. "For now, anyway."

Resting his head on Ferret's, Remus smiled. "He calls me the Remus and you his Mama. I call him a lucky handsome boy and you my gorgeous little Ferret. Exactlly who do you think we both prefer?"

Ferret blushed and smiled. It was nice to hear that Remus thought so highly of her.

"I still don't believe the gorgeous bit, but I appreciate it," she told him kissing his neck gently. "But I am glad the two of you get along. I would hate to be in the middle if the two of you hated each other. I would be so torn."

She kissed his neck more, moving her lips along his jaw. She missed the taste of his skin. She missed him wrapping his arms around her. She missed him. She could not wait to get back to school, just to be near him again.

Ferret's blush was too adorable to resist, and so Remus leant over and kissed her gently on the lips and then on the tip of the nose. "You may not believe it, but both Moony and I know it for sure." Remus blushed slightly at what he was implying as he winked. "And someday I'll get you to see yourself the way I do."

"You care about Jasper so much that how could we not get along, even if for no other reason than for your sake." Remus smiled and chuckled. "However, luckily enough it turns out I'm a ferret-whisperer in more ways than one and adorable handsome clever little Jasper and I get along just fine."

As Ferret kissed along the side of his jaw, Remus pulled her into his arms and started laving her neck with gentle kisses, being careful to ensure that he wouldn't leave any embarrassing marks she'd have to explain to the Healers. Keeping an ear out for the sounds of the lift, Remus pulled away and stopped kissing her just before the ding sounded and the doors opened again to reveal the tearoom.

Ferret blushed and giggled as Remus kissed her, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Oh, is that a challenge Mr. Lupin?" she asked her tone playful. It warmed her heart know he cared so much about her.

It felt so good to have his arms around her and his lip on her skin. Her sensitivity was heightened due to their lack of contact, making her shiver even at the light kisses on her neck. She debated pushing the "stop" button but thought better of it. She didn't want to get them into trouble.

As tempting as it was.

She whimpered softly as he pulled away but put on a smile as they reached the tearoom. Taking his hand, she led him to her favorite table, which was seated next to a window. She waved and gave a grandfather as she passed. He was building a tower out of sugar cubes, quite content though his waitress looked rather weary.\

Taking a seat, Ferret handed Remus the menu, already knowing what she wanted. "Order anything you like. This is on me."

Stepping out of the elevator, Remus offered Ferret his arm once again and let her lead him to a table. Settling into his seat he basked in the sunlight that came streaming through the ceiling-high window beside the small cozy table.

"I think I'll just get some tea." Remus smiled across the table and reached out his hand, resting it palm up on the centre of the table. "And maybe a plate of scones to share, if you'd be interested?"

He chuckled softly, his mouth twisting wryly. "I was so nervous about coming that James and Sirius insisted I had a solid meal to calm me down."

Ferret smiled and took his hand eagerly. "Sounds lovely. What kind would you like and do you want your tea hot or iced? I usually get the darjalling tea with a plate of chocolate chip scones."

Taking his hand, she raised it to her lips, kissing his knuckles gently. "Why were you so nervous? If I was unfit to have visitors other than family, they would not have let you come." She gently placed his hand against her cheek, nuzzling it gently.

"I'm fine. And I feel much better than I have in a very very long time." She smiled more then. "And having you come to visit makes me feel even better. I should be back to school in a week or so. Hopefully, I will be back before Valentine's day, so we can spend the day together." She smiled more and closed her eyes, continuing to nuzzle his hand.

"Do they do a mixed-berry tisane by any chance? My mother used to make it for me when I was a child." Remus gave a nostalgic smile. "Before, you know-" He cut himself off. "But yes, whatever scone you'd prefer sounds lovely. As long as it comes with jam and cream."

Remus gave a warm smile, his heart swelling as Ferret planted kisses across his hand. "I know that, it's just-" He sighed. "I can't help but feel guilty - like its my fault that you're in here. I'm your boyfriend - I should have known something was wrong and been able to help."

Smiling at her, Remus caressed her cheek before bringing her hand over to his face and placing soft kisses on it in turn. "That makes me very glad. I've missed you at school, and its wonderful to hear you're happy." He sighed happily at the mention of the couples-only holiday. "And this moon will most probably be a mild one - so we can have a nice quiet romantic Valentine's Day without Moony to disturb us."

Ferret smiled saddly and nodded. "Its usually only a summer thing, but I'm sure they can still make it. And scones without jam and cream is unthinkable!? Who can eat them like that!?"

Hearing about his guilt the girl frowned. "Hey...There was nothing you would have been able to do. And you were doing all you could. Getting the books, holding me, not getting freaked out when I turned into you with boobs," she smiled weakly, feeling her face drain of color ever so slightly. "Helping me with my nightmares, reminding me who I am. You did everything you could. It was...just bad timing. There was nothing you could do to prevent it."

She gently stroked his hand. "Please, don't feel guilty. You have nothing, nothing, to feel guilty about."

Ferret leaned into his touch as he stroked her cheek, closing her eye contently. "I miss you to Remus. If you weren't at the school, I would have been content to be here. But I am working so hard to be released as soon as I can to be with you again."

The girl's eyes lit up at the thought of a romantic Valentine's Day. Her first ever. The first she didn't have to worry about being tricked into thinking someone cared about her. Because she knew Remus did.

"I'm looking forward to it," she whispered, smiling warmly.

Remus smiled and kissed his fingertip before placing it on Ferret's cheek. "Well then, I will be most glad to share my childhood memories with you." He chuckled softly. "Only crazy people, those on a diet and foreigners I'm sure."

Seeing Ferret pale slightly, Remus squeezed her hand comfortingly and rubbed gentle circles on the back on her hand with his thumb. "Hey now, it's alright now. You're feeling better, and that's all that matters. And I will never allow you to get so low you feel that bad again."

"Well, don't work too hard. Take all the time you need - you getting better is far more important than when you get back to school. I can always convince the Headmaster to let me continue visiting if I miss you, but you can't get better anywhere near so easily outside of here."

Remus smiled at the happy glow that his words brought to Ferret's face. "Well, I won't disappoint. I know you've had troubles in the past with Valentine's Day," His eyes flickered momentarily, "But I'm going to do my best to make the day and you feel as special as you deserve."

Ferret smiled softly at his words. Knowing that he cared for her so much made a bubble of happiness glow in her chest. "You are such a good man Remus..."

The girl let out a light laugh. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, or however the saying goes." She smiled more. "Jane said that posivite modivation and infuence are good. And you, Remus Lupin," she smiled more, "are the best motivation I can get."

Ferret's eyes softened, full of love and thankfulness. Just knowing he wanted to make the day special for her made her feel wonderful. "I don't even think I will remember past Valentine's Days after this one honestly. They are all just kindof fading even now."

Remus returned her smile, giving her hand another squeeze. "If I am it's only because the people who gave me a chance made me that way. My parents, Professor Dumbledore, Madam Pomfrey, my friends," He gazed seriously across the table at her, looking deeply into her eyes. "You."

Chuckling, Remus gave Ferret a joking smile. "My dear little Ferret, you couldn't be dull even if you tried. But really, don't overwork yourself on my behalf. I just want you back safe and sound - I'm not fussed on when."

Feeling the familiar warm glow of Ferret's affection and regard suffuse him, Remus blew her a kiss from across the table. "Well, on both counts I'm very much flattered. It means a lot to know I come close to making you as happy as you've already made me." Placing a courtly kiss on the back of Ferret's hand, Remus asked: "Shall we order, my dear Ferret?"

Ferret smiled at his words. He had made her feel so much better in such a short amount of time. She was going to be sad to see him go but that was the cost of getting better.

And she would get better, for him. She would feel better so they could be in each other's arms again, cuddling and kissing by the common room fire as they talked about nonsense or didn't speak at all, just based in each other's embrace.

Ferret smiled as he blew a kiss across the table and blushed as he kissed the back of her hand. Smiling warmly she nodded. "Yes, lets." Leaning across the table, she kissed him, before signalling their waitress with a warm and content smile.
