Ferret smiled ans kissed his forehead gently. Being close to him make her feel wonderful, so cared for, maybe even loved. "We did. And I am so happy for it."

It was more difficult than she realized not to get sexually intimate right away. So deep in her habit, she was finding it hard to keep her hands innocent now that she and Remus were more than friends. But she was trying and working so hard to take it slow. It was a learning experience for her too.

Angels sang every time that man kissed her. She couldn't help but smile. His trust in her was so strong and that too made her heart swell.

Ferret closed her eyes, smiling. "I would love to read them with you, but at the same time, I don't want you to move...Can we just cuddle like this a little more first? Please?"

Remus smiled as Ferret kissed his forehead and agreed with him, basking in the aura of caring for him that surrounded her. As she smiled broadly he couldn't help but to smile back at her, still finding it hard to believe he was lucky enough to have her in his life at all, let alone as his first (and if he had his way, only) girlfriend.

"Of course," Remus brushed his lips ever-so-lightly against Ferret's and then across her forehead. Shuffling around to get comfortable and warm underneath her blankets, Remus cuddled her tight and sighed happily. "I'll never say no to cuddling with you."

Ferret smiled and curled under her blankets with him, wrapping her arms tightly around him. It was so warm, and comfy and so...right in a way.

"Wouldn't it be wonderful to fall asleep and wake up like this?" she muttered softly into his chest, closing her eyes. "I don't think I would ever have nightmares again..." The girl smiled more, taking several deep breath to inhale his natural scent. He smelled so wonderful. His scent could arouse her or calm her as it did now.

Remembered flipping through the books she had sent Remus and smiled.

"So...what did you think of the books I sent you? Any good information in there that might be useful?"

Remus allowed himself to believe in the fantasy for a moment, warm and comfortable and loved in what felt like a timeless moment. As Ferret continued to to breathe in his scent, Remus smiled and ran both hands through her hair in a constant motion. "Easter, I promise." He smiled. "We'll cuddle all night long and you won't have a single bad dream."

Remus blushed slightly. "Unfortunately I was occupied largely with the Great Black Book Heist. I didn't get past noting the chapter names and contents." His blush deepened at the thought of what she was implying. "Was there anything in either of the books that you think I need to know." Hesitantly, Remus slid his hands up the back of her shirt so that his arms were wrapped around her back flesh against flesh.

Ferret smiled and looked up at him, relaxing as he stroked her hair. "Is there a way to make Easter come faster?" she muttered softly, smiling at the idea of falling asleep with Remus.

Smiling at Remus, she sat up a bit, making it easier to look at him.

"It was just interesting. The wolf book talked about how wolves are very social animals. They live in packs but there is a hierarchy within the back. Wolves can be very territorial over food, territory and even mates." Ferret smiled more and kissed Remus's cheek, flushing slightly.

"They are considered great parents and most mate for life..." She flushed then. "Then of course, it discussed their breeding habits. Apparently, the alpha-female will begin to solicit attention from the alpha-male, or other males. She does this by performing behaviors that appear to be playful, like approaching the alpha-male and paw at his back or head, place her head across his back, or just simply stand or walk next to him, usually touching.

"In the beginning, the alpha-male usually returns a snap or growl in response to her advances. Apparently they don't like the attention too much." She winked playfully. Then, the females of the pack begin their estrus cycle, usually within a few days of one another. Once this occurs, the males of the pack begin to pay attention to the female advances.

"The alpha-female then increases her "flirtatious" advances toward the alpha-male, plus performs the ultimate sexual solicitation behavior of pushing her rump against the alpha-male's rump or side and curling her tail to the side. You know, to expose her um...you know..." Ferret cleared her throat before continuing.

Once the alpha-male catches on to her indications, he will then begin to reciprocate the play-like behaviors of placing his head over her back and sparring with her while both are standing on their hind legs (an action that resembles dancing). Then he will then pair bond to the alpha-female, which is an act of guarding her from all other males who may attempt to mate with her. He will let no other male near her at all.

"Mating then can last for as short as two days to two weeks. After the season is over, the female goes off to prepare to have pups."

Ferret, still blushing, shrugged. "I just thought it was interesting."

As Ferret kissed his cheek, Remus smiled. "Territorial about mates, eh?" His voice trailed off to a whisper, "They certainly got that right..." Upon the words 'mate for life' Remus blushed to match Ferret. There was, however, he had to admit a certain appeal about the thought. He wouldn't mind continuing to be like this with Ferret for a long time to come.

Sitting silently through the mini-lecture, Remus cleared his throat at the end to break the slightly charged atmosphere. "Sounds like I don't have too much in common with a real wolf then. This alpha-male happens to very much like your attention." He kissed her on the corner of the mouth. "Though round the full moon when my wolf starts to bleed through," He shrugged, "You never know." He gave a wry smile and chuckled, "I guess we'll just have to find out. "

Smiling at Ferret, Remus' cheek burned slightly as he asked: "Now that you've covered wolfish mating habits, are there anything about Ferret's mating habits I should know?"

Ferret smiled and kissed him. It felt nice knowing he was a bit territorial about her. As strange as that sounded.

"Are you territorial about me Remus?" she asked, a soft smile crossing her lips. "Because I know I am territorial about you..."

Ferret smiled and nuzzled his neck. She was nervous and also a bit excited to meet this before moon side. Maybe she was just crazy. It wouldn't be the first time someone had told her so.

Ferret blushed and smiled when he asked about ferret mating habits. She knew he was asking about her but she decided to tease him a bit.

"Well, when a female goes into heat, she stays in heat until she is impregnated. If she doesn't mate, she stays in heat with a high risk of illness and death. The male will the chase the female until she submits. Once she does, he mounts her and will enlarge inside her, unable to remove himself for several hours. He will bite the female's neck to keep in control. This process repeats for a good week or so."

Ferret smilied then and rolled them over so she was straddling his waist. "My habits are waiting until my wonderful boyfriend to tell me he is ready."

"It's the wolf in me, I'm afraid. I don't take it all well when folks decide to mess with my people." Remus smiled. "And since we both agreed we belong to each other, it's only fair we're territorial about the other too." A shiver of desire ran down his spine as Ferret nuzzled into his neck. It seemed it wasn't just his cheeks - Remus was just incredibly sensitive everywhere when it came to her touch.

Remus sat there is stunned silence for a moment as Ferret told him about the animal's mating habits. "But that's awful." He frowned, finding it rather distressing. "That's really sad. I think I might have to skip the book on ferrets if it's all going to be that bad."

As Ferret rolled over to straddle him, Remus felt a warm buzz of pleasure ignite in his gut as her body shifted against his groin. He wriggled slightly, trying to avoid her pressing against and feeling the product of his arousal; the proof of how attractive he found her in every way and the evidence of her success in turning him on. "Well," He blushed, "That may not be for a while yet. Speaking of me being ready - if its around the full moon, don't believe me even if I say I am. I suspect this is one subject the wolf and I will disagree violently on."

"People express their attractions in different ways," Ferret said softly. "But the ferret book is a how to take care of a ferret guide. So it won't all be bad."

Feeling him move, Ferret moved herself up her body and way from his groin. If felt anything, she may not be able to keep her desires in check. Better safe then sorry. She smiled down at him, pushing some hair behind her ear.

"That's fine Remus," she said softly. "I will wait forever if you want me to..." Leaning down, she kissed him sweetly. "Does the wolf want to do things with me? Or are you just warning me just in case?" She smiled, honestly curious and ready for any response.

"As long as it isn't all bad." Remus smiled and pulled a notepad out of his pocket and added it to his to-read list. He relaxed a little as Ferret shifted away from the somewhat dangerous position she'd been in. Reaching up, he helped her to puck her hair behind her ears, combing his fingers through it. Playing with Ferret's hair was becoming one of his favourite things to do, due to the silky texture and the waves of her scent that came rolling off it when her hair was disturbed.

Remus blushed furiously, highly tempted to avert his eyes but knowing it was important he showed Ferret that he trusted her. "It isn't just in case. And it's not just the wolf," He whispered, embarrassed. "The only difference is that the wolf doesn't have my inhibitions and doesn't care about my reasons for wanting to wait." He smiled back at her hesitantly, unsure as to how she'd react to his blunt admission of desire.

Of all the things she thought Remus would say, that was one of the last ones on the list. Her heart swelled and hammered in her chest. But she smiled at him, leaning down to kiss him.

"You are a strong, wonderful man Remus Lupin," Ferret whispered. "Thank you for being honest with me." Ferret rolled off him and kissed his cheek. "And for the record, I desire you too. But I'm glad your waiting."

She smiled then, curling into him. "Valentine's day will be interesting though." She looked up at him with a wide grin. "You do know that the night after is the full moon right?"

Remus' heart swelled at the look of pride and joy in Ferret's eyes as she leaned in to kiss him. Blushing at all the compliments, his slightly-pinked cheeks suddenly burned crimson at Ferret's returning of the sentiment, and he felt a hot flush of desire run just under his skin, thrumming with anticipation. "You say you're glad, but you're certainly not making it any easier," He joked, grinning widely to make it clear he wasn't serious. "And I'm glad we're waiting too."

Remus frowned in confusion at the mention of Valentine's Day before his expression melted into one of a strange blend of understanding, concern and anticipation. "I hadn't known, no. In previous years for obvious reasons I haven't paid much attention to Valentine's Day. But that should be very interesting indeed." Despite his deliberately light tone, Remus was somewhat worried as to how he would be able to make Valentine's Day properly special for Ferret when his more wolfish side might well be in control, depending on how bad the February transformation turned out.

Ferret smiled and kissed him one more time before sitting up. "We should probably get out of here. I don't want you to get into trouble when the girls come back. We can cuddle in the common room in front of the fire though." She smiled at him.

Taking his hand, she kissed his palm gently. "I'm glad you had a great holiday Remus, but I don't think I'm going to let your mates have you back for a few days. I need to fill my cuddle quota and get in as many kisses as I can." She paused. "Do they know about us yet?"

Remus sighed, reluctant to leave the warmth and comfort of Ferret's blankets, that smelt so much like her. But she did have a point, and the commonroom would likely be very pleasant as well. "You're right. A cuddle by the fireplace may not be as nice as lying together, but its the next best thing." He paused, "Let me go first?"

Remus grinned and chuckled at her declaration. "I am at your disposal, milady," He joked with a broad smile, "But yes, you're right. James and company had me all Christmas and its your turn to monopolize my time for the next few days." He gave a wicked laugh at Ferret's last question. "Well, judging by the scene you made farewelling me at the train station, I'm fairly sure the whole castle knows. Sirius certainly seemed somewhat non-functional for at least half an hour as he rearranged his entire world-view. So I'd say that's probably a yes."

Ferret smiled and nodded, kissing him gently. "You first would probably be a good idea..." she smiled more. Leaning down, she kissed him again. "I'm sure we can find a spare room to lay with each other in somewhere in the castle." Her voice was just above a whisper, but she was sure he could hear her words. Werewolves has excellent hearing after all.

The girl smiled and blushed as Remus reminded her of their farewell. She had not gotten the chance to tell any one about their new relationship just yet, all her friends on holiday.

"I am sure that was quite a sight," Ferret giggled. She kissed him again. "You get the books, I'll grab a blanket so we can cuddle under it. Alright?"
