Sent: To every prefect
Message: A prefect meeting will be taking place in the Prefects' Lounge throughout January to discuss plans for Valentines Day. If any Prefects would like to attend the meeting they are free to bring forth any of their own ideas, and any ideas suggested to them by their fellow house mates. All ideas and opinions will be appreciated in an attempt to make this the best Valentine's Day Hogwarts has ever seen!
Granton and Lisette were the fist two into the lounge in order to set up for the meeting that was about to take place. They needed to discuss plans for Valentines Day and it had been decided that it should be a chance for the representatives off all the houses to share their own ideas, rather that just the two heads make all the decisions and say 'this is what we're doing, lets get going'. They wanted to get the opinions of as many people as possible.
There was that, and the fact that Granton really wasn't into the whole holiday. Sure Lisette had a ton of ideas but him? Not so many. And any ideas he did have probably wouldn't be very appropriate to suggest. By bringing in the prefects they could all combine ideas and make something really great out of the night in question. The only thing that the two heads had really seemed to have decided on was that there would be a Ball, and that the Ball would be Masquerade. The rest of the plans were up to the prefects to decide. The decorations... the music... the events... the theme... the food... everything.
Granton was going to make a nice reminder that anything they came up with idea-wise, they needed to be able to set up themselves. They were only getting a limited amount of help from the Professors in the set up this year. Most of it was going to be up to them. So if they wanted to start suggesting something like... flying hearts that exploded glitter over kissing couples or something as... 'icky' as that, then they better make sure they knew exactly how to do it, and that they were willing to clean up the mess again afterwards.
Right now though, they just needed to wait for the prefects to get here...
((Cue your entries to the meeting please! We want to see everyone arriving first of all! ))

Remus walked into the Prefect's Lounge absently humming a little tune under his breath. That he'd been surprised and excited by the owl was a given - Hogwarts hadn't held a Valentine's Day Ball in any recent history he'd heard. He was also somewhat nervous too, being new to the whole 'dating' scene and having very little idea what Ferret would be expecting.
And Merlin forbid he ask his friends for help; Peter had less experience than him, James had always been too busy mooning over Lily to get invested in a relationship and Sirius thought relationship was a synonym for "girl he'd shag more than once". Nodding a greeting to Granton and Lisette, Remus perched himself in one of the corner armchairs and began charming a notepad and quill to take notes.

Alice nervously made her way to the prefects lounge. She'd gotten the message, and figured it would be rude not to show up, but parties weren't really her thing. Neither was planning them.
She opened the door and peered inside. At first all she saw was Granton, which totally freaked her out because she really wasn't comfortable being in a room alone with him, he just didn't give off a very good vibe. But as she peered in further she saw Remus Lupin, whom she quite liked.
She finally slipped inside and made her way over to him, "hey," she said shyly, before sitting down next to him and not looking at him. She mostly just felt more comfortable sitting by him than she actually felt talking to him.
Nobody was talking, so she turned to Granton and said with an attempt at a light smile, "So, nobody else is here yet?"

Deacon walked in to the Prefects’ Lounge quickly and sighed softly as he took a seat near an open window. Taking out a piece of parchment and charming his quill to take notes for him, Deacon resigned to staring out the window. When he first received the message telling him about the optional meeting, he had inclined against going, but he figured he should at least make an appearance. Deacon wanted to be Head Boy in his seventh year, and had decided early on when he’d become a Prefect that he would attend as many meetings as possible. It seemed somewhat vindictive, but as long as he appeared eager there would be no problem.
Unfortunately, he barely knew his fellow Ravenclaw Prefects. Even the other fifth year he was supposed to be working with, they’d never really had a proper interaction and in all honesty he didn’t know her name. He wasn’t sure if they’d exchanged even that; Deacon was a fairly private person and wouldn’t usually strike up a conversation on his own.
As he sat down, Deacon nodded politely in acknowledgement at Remus and Alice, as well as Granton and Lisette. He really didn’t know any of them well save for Remus. Both being fifth year Prefects, Remus and Deacon interacted fairly frequently, and Remus was much more engaging than some of the other Prefects. Unlike many of the Ravenclaw Prefects ― himself included ― Remus would frequently start up a conversation with a classmate that he didn’t know. And despite what he would lead you to believe, Deacon actually enjoyed that... found it refreshing, in fact.

Granton sat on the seat behind the desk at the far side of the lounge and watched as Lisette busy-bodied around finding little things to do to make up time while they waited for the prefects to arrive.
Granton sighed and just sat there, looking bored. How long till they got here so they could just get this meeting underway? As soon as they got some rough ideas shaped out then himself and Lisette to fine tune it, and take the plan to Professor Dumbledor for confirmation, like they'd been told to do.
The first into the room as a Gryffindor, followed soon after by a second Gryffindor. No Slytherins yet? He was disappointed. There was a time he recalled the Slytherins being the first ones through the door. Still, many of the prefects were becoming a little complacent. Their next full meeting that point was most definitely going to be raised, just not this time.
He raised on hand in a half attempt at a wave, not really one to care about such niceties, but still, he had to at least pretend he like the team he had to work with.
The girl from Gryffindor - Alice, was it? - spoke up. Granton just shook his head with a sigh. "Not yet. It seems some people don't know how to arrive promptly and on time these days."
As he spoke, another head appeared around the door and headed for the window, taking the seat just underneath it. A Ravenclaw, from what Granton could recall.
He glanced back to Lisette who was still busying herself and he raised an eyebrow, shaking his head. She made him feel tired just watching her. "Lisette... don't you ever sit down?" The girl always seemed to be finding something else to do to keep herself active, even if it was just shuffling through a stack of papers that she'd straightened a dozen times before.
Glancing up at the time, Granton sat back in his chair with a sigh before addressing the room. "Well, we said this meeting would be starting now, so lets start it. Any one else who bothers to come in will just have to catch themselves up. I'm not waiting on them."
Using the same spell he'd seen some of the prefects using on their quills and parchment, Granton did the same but with the chalk on the black board behind them. They didn't usually use it in meetings, but this time, why not?
"So... Valentines Day... A Ball... Masquerade. That's all we've got." He made a motion with his arms that basically just meant 'now over to you', and he looked around the few faces in the room, wondering who would be the first to speak up with ideas.

Tap, tap tap her cane hit the floor as she came to the prefect meeting she was REALLY late and she didn't like to admit it. Did she have any ideas for this? no it was bad enough that the Head Boy was a Slytherin and she still hadn't talked to her house yet great, this was going to be...not good. But she knew that Remus and her best friend Alice would be here. She hoped they were here, they probably would be. She folded her cane and went to her normal spot next to Alice she hadn't told the girl yet but the girl had a scent about her that made her easy to recognize it was not a bad scent either just like perfume or whatever she had with her at the time. Since no one was talking but the head boy who she really could care less what his name was. Silently sitting next to her she waited for either her or someone else to say something.
