Great. Detention. This was exactly where he wanted to be spending his Friday night... Stuck in a stuffy dungeon scrubbing cauldrons or writing lines or some other such nonsense that he didn't have time for. He couldn't even talk to Sirius tonight because Remus and Peter were borrowing the two way mirrors, though what for he wasn't sure. It looked like James was in for a long night...
He's set off on the long walk down to the dungeons a little earlier than he usually would have because, quite simply, he was bored. Remus and Peter were off doing whatever it is that they were doing and Sirius' detention had started almost an hour and a half before James' was due to. And really, where was the fun of sitting alone in the dorm?
Despite how slowly he'd walked down and how many detours he took he still arrived with about ten minutes to kill. And like hell was he going in there any earlier than he needed to! There was absolutely no guarantee that if he did he'd get out any earlier. With a groan, he flopped back against the wall, bumping his head off it several times on purpose, then slid down to sit on the floor. He stared blankly at the wall opposite him. This was going to be a long night... he was sure of it.

It was late Friday night. Very late. Horace was sitting alone in his office. He'd much rather would sit in the Great Hall or in his room and drink Mead, but today he had something else to do.
It all started today. In Potions lesson with 5th years. It started out as a normal potions lesson, all students were brewing the Euphoria of the Elixir to Induce Euphoria, but James Potter '' accidentally '' levitated a boiling mixture over the class, directly on top of Severus Snape. Horace did not know whether it was intentional or not, but he still gave Potter a detention.
James wasn't his favourite, but Horace still enjoyed the time spent with James because he had a very good sense of humor and talent. Normally in detention together with James they both were joyful. However, Horace somehow seemed to be that it won't be tonight. Though he'll need some jokes because today was completely worn in Horace. All homework, essays, lessons, had tired him. Horace's only wish was to go to sleep in his huge green, comfortable bed. But the harsh reality was different.
Horace looked at his watch. Still had ten minutes. Maybe give James to do something simple, just to be able to end faster? No, he was not allowed to do so. He settled down a little more comfortable in his chair, pulled a sheet of paper out of a drawer and began to wait. He did not have long to do so, because there was a loud knock at the door.

There were so many questions that filled her mind as she knew how dangerous this was. James had caught her off guard. She always sensed there was something unique about him but never gave him the time of day and why would she? After all he had put her through. After everything he had done, he’d made her more alert now. She feared he might sneak up on her and try it again. That he would try kissing her again.
The only time she felt she could relax was around Severus. And that was one of the main reasons why she protected him so fiercely. Even when she had tried to be civil with Potter it had backfired, so what was the point in continuing to try? But no matter what she did, or how she felt at that moment where he had changed the rules on her, and had remarkably been crazy enough to kiss her had been something she hadn’t forgotten.
Today was one of those days where she should have been doing everything possible to avoid Potter after their encounter the other night, when he had kissed her. She still couldn’t get that kiss off of her mind. That kiss had been short but why it had lingered in her mind, she had no idea. James Potter was an irresponsible, insufferable, self rightous, arrogant toe-rag who never seemed to grow up. That was one of his problems.
Professor Slughorn was one of her favorite Professors, and he always seemed to be in a good mood, although after today’s potion disaster thanks to James Potter, she was sure he was in need for a visit. James was probably already done with his detention as she had seen him and Sirius about an hour ago.
Severus had been rather irritated in Potions and she had worried about him. Not because he couldn’t handle himself but because she knew how things were like when he was angry and it wasn’t good. Severus was in the Slytherin Common Room, as he had left her to wander the halls when he had gone inside. She didn’t know how long he would be in there, but she figured while she was down there, she might as well pay Professor Slughorn a visit.
She knew she was in deep trouble after what had happened, and she couldn’t deny some of the things that were said. Severus was in her oppinion one of the greatest men she had ever known. The only other man to beat him was that of her father. Sure Severus was a difficult man to get to know, but she had put forth the effort because she knew he was worth it. What she got back from him was so much more than most others even saw. Their friendship had survived alot, over the years. She had no idea that Potter was inside with the Professor, as if she had any idea she would have immediately turned around and gone the other way. Upon reaching the classroom, she knocked on the door and awaited for a response. As she was polite and wouldn’t interrupt if someone was in there asking a question or two.

James had left his dorm early because he'd been bored. He hadn't gone straight into detention early, because he was bored. But there was only so long one could sit on the cold stone floor of a dungeon and stare at a cold stone wall... before one had to conclude that they were even more bored than when they'd started. Thus, despite saying that he was going to go inside exactly at the time of his detention, he still ended up going in with a few minutes to spare. He just couldn't be doing with sitting there any longer. At least this way he was moving around a little... not that it helped cure his boredom any.
He knocked on the door but didn't wait for a response before he pushed it open and slid inside, letting the catch click back into place before he sighed and headed towards the front desk where Professor Slughorn was sitting, dragging his feet along the floor.
Not even bothering to look at his potions professor, James dropped into the seat behind the desk at the very front of the room, staring blankly at the wooden desktop and letting his eyes drift over the lines and ink marking of where bored students long before him had doodled and etched into the desk.
He waited until Professor Slughorn told him what he needed to do before nodding and getting to it. Usually he didn't mind being in detention with Professor Slughorn too much, because he usually got off quite easy and spent more of the time in his detention talking and having a laugh, but not this time. James wasn't coming into detention after an afternoon of fun, he was bored stiff. And Slughorn had definitely been in a better mood too... It was turning out to be a very quiet time, and James was feeling mindnumbingly bored.
An unexpected knock jarred him from his thoughts and his head jerked around to watch the door to see who it was that was knocking at this hour. As it opened he couldn't help but roll his eyes and smirk a little, turning quickly back to what he was doing. Lily Evans. This could be an interesting night after all...
((ooc:sorry it took so long! i kinda forgot about it since i couldn't see it behind the other thread. my bad. =P ))
